Hello darlings! It's your favourite tutu-clad space explorer, Emma, here, ready to beam you down to Planet Earth for another fabulous Wednesday blog post. The date today is 18th August 2021. I am beaming you down from my favourite spot in the Milky Way, a dazzling nebula filled with pink swirls that practically beg me to pirouette. Speaking of twirling, did you know that the origins of ballet can be traced back to the 15th century, to the Italian Renaissance courts? And do you know what else comes from that time period? Tutus! Oh, the wonder! Can you imagine a life without these twirling, fabulous creations? gasp I can't!
But back to our planetary journey, you see, I have just finished the most glorious tour around Planet Earth and have been enjoying every moment of this little stay-cation! You see, every now and again it's nice to just land for a bit and breathe in the fresh air and be a part of Planet Earth life for a while.
Itās so important for any intergalactic traveller to keep things grounded, so today I thought I'd share with you some highlights from my Earth travels! I have seen the most magnificent ballet performances from every era. Some classic stories set to the music of Tchaikovsky, the glorious tutus fluttering with the music, just amazing! It has been simply sensational!
Of course, my adventure wouldn't be complete without a bit of shopping. London, darling, I love you so! So much sparkle, such a glorious explosion of color and the tutus! Simply glorious! I snapped up some incredible pieces for my intergalactic collection. You wouldn't believe the beautiful shades of pink. Oh! I simply love London! It really is a fabulous city, a wonderful mixture of historic streets and fabulous shopping experiences. And, oh my gosh, did you know there's a new museum opening up that celebrates the history of dance and ballet! I have plans to visit soon!
So now I've got the tutus to add to my ever-growing wardrobe collection, the next stop was back home to Derbyshire for a visit to see my dear mum and to see if she needed a helping hand, because you know, the family comes first, even for a Cosmic Ballerina! Now, I have been home for a little while now and my mother had told me all about a really great new Ballet School that had just opened near to my hometown in a local village, which sounded fabulously fun. I always thought that maybe when I got back to planet earth that I would try to start up some classes in Derbyshire to inspire future space age ballerinas, you never know. It may even turn into an intergalactic franchise, the Ballet Dance academy of Planet Earth! But that is a story for another day, but if I were to be thinking of my own style of school I can picture pink, lots of pink tutus, pink everything in fact, Pink would have to be the dominant colour in my classroom as it's the colour of dreams, laughter and happiness! Why shouldn't dance studios all over the galaxy be a little bit more glamorous?!
Well, I just had to go and check it out! Now it was lovely, they had some beautiful pink costumes. Pink, that colour. If only it could take over the world, I really think it's that wonderful. Pink has been my signature colour from the start! It's just a shame that all my spaceship's uniforms are white! That is going to have to change for next season, a pink and black sparkly spacesuit! So glamorous! I do like to look fabulous wherever I travel in the universe!
Speaking of looking fabulous, we've got some fab news, darlings. Itās almost time for the biggest annual fashion event on Planet Earth - London Fashion Week! Get ready for a whirlwind of colour, glamour and, yes, of course, some stunning new tutus! I'll be keeping a keen eye on the runways for all the latest trends, and I promise to report back to you on what to wear this coming season in our exciting galaxy of intergalactic ballet styles. Yes, it may be a challenge, but you can't tell me it wouldnāt look amazing with pink and tutus! I'm sure my designers will come up with something special, maybe a new style with a galaxy of stars, or even a shimmering constellation! Oh, just you wait!
Thereās always something going on in this glamorous galaxy. Even though I am a little space adventurer I do love the chance to step into the shoes, or should I say ballet pumps of a ballet dancer, for a while. After all, weāre all just stargazers and dreamers, hoping to get a little bit closer to our stars. In the meantime, my little planet earth loves, make sure you check out the fabulous shows that are on Planet Earth this week: You could see an amazing street theatre performance, or head down to your local community theatre to see some up and coming talented local ballet artists. Oh! and donāt forget to check your local theatre schedules.
So until next week darlings, keep your chins up, smile and have a fab time!
See you next week,
Love Emma. xx
