Hello darlings! 🩰✨
It's Wednesday again, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu World blog post! I'm Emma, your intergalactic ballerina extraordinaire, and I'm thrilled to be back from my latest adventure. This week, I've been swirling, twirling, and dancing my way across Planet Earth, a delightful little corner of the universe that, surprisingly, still has a whole lot of tutu-potential.
Before I tell you all about my adventures, let me just say, it's been absolute chaos here on Planet Earth. Seriously, there are so many exciting things going on, and you know how I feel about excitement! But let's start with what's been filling up my schedule lately, because frankly, darling, you're not going to believe it.
2021-10-27 - A Day in Pink Tutu LandFirstly, today is 2021-10-27, which you probably know, seeing as this is my planet earth blog after all, but anyway! This specific date was filled with tutu-tastic activities! The most fantastic thing that happened was my ballet performance at the prestigious Royal Opera House. They flew me in just to perform! I have to admit, a pink tutu isn't usually their thing, but darling, they fell for my extra pink sequinned design - and let's be honest, they couldn't resist my graceful performance.
But wait, there's more! After my performance, I was whisked away to a special invitation-only fashion show in the heart of London. The designers had an absolutely enchanting collection based on, you guessed it, tutus! Imagine my delight! We’re talking fluffy feathers, sequins that sparkle like a thousand suns, and, of course, pink, pink, pink. I practically had a heart attack! It's good to know even Planet Earth has some fashion taste, after all.
Speaking of shopping, darling, I'm practically drowning in beautiful fabrics right now! I've spent the last few days scouring the markets here in London for some unique and vibrant materials. Think vintage silks, sequin-dusted lace, and even some gorgeous embroidered fabrics from India. I can already picture all the beautiful new tutu designs I’ll be creating! Oh, and did I mention that I found a stunning vintage, pink feather boa?! My imagination is running wild, and my sewing machine is ready to be put to good use!
And it wasn't just about shopping! Today I also snuck in a spectacular ballet class at the famous Royal Ballet School in London! It was a fantastic reminder that we need to keep training and perfecting our pirouettes, darling! You wouldn't believe how many ballerinas are still perfecting their grand jetés – those are not easy to master, darling, not easy! But I, for one, managed to impress with my newly-learned quadruple pirouette! The other dancers gave me a lovely round of applause; a little extra appreciation never hurts!
But really, the most important part of any Planet Earth trip is ballet! It's always inspiring to see the talent that blossoms on this little planet. I caught a spectacular show by the London Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Ballet last night! Honestly, their performance of Swan Lake was just breathtaking. Even those seasoned, ballet-loving space travelers among you are sure to have heard of this timeless masterpiece, and it truly did live up to its reputation!
Now, don't think for a second I neglect my personal duties, darlings! I’m always thinking of ways to spread the pink tutu gospel! Today, for example, I left a trail of sparkling pink feathers on the famous London Eye. Hopefully, a few extra sprinkles of glitz will help convince even the most resistant earthling to don a tutu! You see, darlings, it’s all about convincing the people on Earth to give it a go. There’s no reason to live life in a drab, boring, colour-drained outfit, when a lovely pink tutu is only a few steps away!
Tutu History & Earthly AdventuresAs a fashion and history enthusiast, I have to share some of the discoveries I made while delving into Earth's tutu archives! While this little planet is a bit behind on tutu history (I blame it on their lack of intergalactic travels - they don't have as much inspiration as the rest of the universe!) it is actually where the humble tutu got its start! Can you believe it? They’ve actually been wearing them since the late 18th century! Crazy, right?! But, let's be honest, they still need a whole lot of help bringing the tutu back to its former glory. The tutus worn here have such a short history. It’s nothing compared to the history of the tutus on the planets we visit further into the Galaxy. It seems earthlings are often stuck in the ballet history of just one period; it's fascinating! It's clear that Planet Earth has its unique charm when it comes to the ballet world. But just imagine what it could be with some Pink Tutu World inspiration.
Oh, and speaking of the past, let's talk about Derbyshire, darling! I recently visited this beautiful place where it all began - Derbyshire is my birthplace. What's remarkable about it is that it is where a man called John Locke actually designed the very first tutu! He did a fantastic job too, with his inspiration based on the beautiful dance dresses in Greece - those are stunning, truly some of the most gorgeous dances on this universe. Anyway, the whole place felt quite…romantic, for a lack of better word.
Planet Earth might not have intergalactic travel or fully understand the true value of pink tutus, but there is so much beauty and wonder on this planet. From the sprawling green fields of my home, Derbyshire, to the dazzling lights of London, and the breathtaking beauty of a Ballet show at the Royal Opera House. I honestly believe, with enough help and encouragement from a little Pink Tutu inspiration, this planet could easily catch up to the rest of the universe and discover what life really means: dancing in a fabulous pink tutu!
A Pink Tutu MomentI must say, a lot of my adventures on Earth recently, darling, have involved the delightful activity of seeing a theatrical ballet performance in the best pink tutu I could find for the event! Oh darling, the show was a spectacle to behold. Honestly, nothing compares to the atmosphere and drama of a theatre ballet performance - especially when you're dressed in pink! And let me tell you, darling, they are very much into the theatrical here! The ballet was called “Swan Lake” and the show truly did steal my heart away. This planet seems to hold this ballet dear. Every single one of them was enraptured by this show, and not one was looking around at their mobile phone. All were present! I feel, it truly did make their week.
Now for a little outfit update. 🩰 I've been keeping it light and airy in this vibrant London climate! The hot weather does not lend itself to overly intricate tutus – trust me, darling, I have tried. Sweat is not flattering to a pink tutu.
This time, I’ve been embracing the simpler silhouettes. Think delicate chiffon, layered tulle with plenty of pink! Of course, no Pink Tutu World ensemble is complete without a generous sprinkle of glitter, especially in a city like this! A fabulous pink headband with some gorgeous sparkle added to my hairstyle helped to really round off my look and keep me looking gorgeous on Planet Earth!
Honestly, darling, this trip was a bit of a whirlwind. I know you, my darlings, want to hear about the food! Well, darling, I ate a whole lot. It’s important to have a healthy balance between exercise and food!. There are so many different cafes, restaurants and dessert shops everywhere you look - it really is overwhelming and, of course, you know how much I enjoy all sorts of desserts. It seems all of them are very fond of what they call "afternoon tea" – I couldn’t possibly leave without giving it a go. I must confess, however, there was too much sweet stuff and not enough savoury dishes! Luckily for you, darling, I also indulged in some heavenly cakes at a local bakery, even though they didn't come in pink, which is honestly quite a shame! But at least the bakery had lots of cakes!.
That’s all for this week darlings, until next time when we’ll be back on the Pink Tutu World blog for some more exciting news from planet earth! As usual, my dear readers, please let me know what you think in the comments.
See you next week! Don't forget to check out Pink Tutu World, and don't forget your pink tutu!
Your Intergalactic ballerina,
Emma 🩰✨
