Hello darlings! It's Emma here, back from a whirlwind tour of the Andromeda Galaxy, where I somehow managed to snag a front-row seat at the Intergalactic Ballet Guild's annual performance of The Swan Lake! Can you imagine? Me, dancing among the stars, surrounded by glitter, stardust, and some seriously impressive wingspan skills (the swan's, obviously!).
Before I regale you all with the deets (and, of course, photos of my out-of-this-world outfits – you’ve gotta see the metallic pink tulle!), let me give you a quick recap of this past week.
As you know, I’ve been dedicating this blog series to chronicling my journey spreading the joy of pink tutus across the vast and amazing universe! Yes, folks, it’s a big job, but someone’s got to do it! 😉
Now, while I’ve been zooming about, I’ve received loads of lovely comments and emails from you lovely lot here on planet Earth. So, let’s have a catch up about what’s happening here in the good old Derbyshire!
My Ballet Week on Earth
This past week was packed! Let’s see...
Tuesday: After my early morning pilates session (can’t forget the ballet-strength!), I hit the shops for some fabulous new accessories to go with my celestial-inspired outfits for the upcoming tour (my pink tutu, a sparkling crystal belt, and some star-shaped platform heels – naturally!)
Wednesday: It was my usual Wednesday treat - ballet class! As soon as I stepped through the doors, my friend Beatrice pulled me aside to chat. It turns out, she’s organizing a fundraiser for a local charity - they’re providing ballet shoes for underprivileged kids! Of course, I instantly agreed to help, so we’ve been busy planning a special fundraising performance! I’m already brainstorming costumes… and pink tutus, naturally!
Thursday: I went to a talk about the history of the tutu! Honestly, I can’t believe I haven’t already dedicated a whole blog post to this! Turns out, tutus have been around for a long, long time – you wouldn’t believe how much the styles have changed. There are whole exhibitions on it in various museums, if you’re ever on planet Earth! The earliest forms of the tutu date back to the 16th century, and it has evolved to take on all sorts of crazy shapes and styles! You guys know, this is like, my bread and butter…so much to share!
Friday: I got ready to hit the stage again for a performance with my company at a local theater! This week's repertoire included a graceful piece by my favorite choreographer - she incorporates a ton of elegant leaps and fluid movements! After the show, a local boutique approached us to collaborate on a line of performance clothing…and you bet I pushed for pink tutus as the highlight! 😉
Saturday: Shopping spree! I know, you're all so surprised! It wouldn't be a week in my world without a shopping expedition. The latest arrival in my collection is this stunning tulle ballgown in the softest shade of lilac – and it comes with its own sparkly pink tutu underskirt, because every ballerina needs a touch of sparkle, right?
Sunday: What’s more delightful than a relaxing Sunday with a cup of tea and a ballet magazine? (Honestly, nothing!) I spent the afternoon immersing myself in ballet news, history, and, of course, photos of dancers from around the world – inspiring the next batch of dazzling, tutu-wearing adventurers, one blog post at a time.
Monday: And it was time to fly off for my next intergalactic adventure.
So, tell me: What are YOU all doing this week? Do you have any plans to incorporate a bit more pink into your lives? I can’t wait to see all your outfits! And remember, I’m always happy to offer any pink tutu advice you may need!
A little bit about the pink tutu fashion journey
When I set off on this mission, my ultimate goal was to inspire everyone, from Earth to Alpha Centauri, to embrace their inner ballerina. But it wasn’t just about pink tutus. I wanted to share the joy, the magic, and the sheer fun of the world of ballet – whether you’re dancing in your living room, rocking out to a classical ballet, or learning all about the intricate history of tutu design!
I think we all have that ballerina inside us, waiting to be unleashed! And let me tell you, it’s far more enchanting and glamorous than you can ever imagine. Even more glamorous, when you're wearing a pink tutu, of course!
But enough about me and my mission, let’s get back to the Andromeda Galaxy and that intergalactic ballet performance…
The Intergalactic Ballet Guild – A Pink Tutu in the Stars!
Oh, my goodness, I am absolutely bursting with excitement! I’ve got so much to share about the show. The stars, the shimmery lights, the otherworldly atmosphere. Seriously, it was something straight out of a fairy tale!
Firstly, I have to tell you about my outfit! It’s my absolute favorite look for out-of-this-world performances: A custom-made pink tutu in iridescent nebula-inspired material – just picture tiny glittering star patterns, dancing with the light! To make it really cosmic, I paired it with a holographic silver corset, cosmic pink eyeshadow, and the perfect silver space boots!
As for the performance? The Intergalactic Ballet Guild outdid themselves with The Swan Lake! It had all the traditional elements: a passionate love story, tragic drama, and powerful choreography. But then there were all the intergalactic touches! Imagine dancing swans swirling through nebulas with vibrant stardust raining down, shimmering alongside the majestic nebula-themed backdrop! It was an incredible performance!
*I actually took some videos and photos! I’m uploading them all to the Pink-Tutu.com website later this week! Stay tuned! *
Of course, I can't end this blog without talking about the other, incredible tutus on display during the performance! The costumes were truly extraordinary. Think, sleek silver tutus with shimmering celestial prints, holographic tulle with constellations, and of course, even the tiniest cosmic dancers were adorned with mini pink tutus – it was truly spectacular.
I even spotted some lovely ladies in pink tutus in the audience, as I chatted after the show! The cosmic love for pink tutus is growing strong, my darlings, strong! It was a truly magical evening filled with ballet and sparkles, and a reminder that no matter how far we travel, the love for dance is universal!
And as always, the greatest message of it all, is this - wear your tutu with pride! There's a pink tutu for everyone, and you're welcome to join me as I spread a whole lot of joy and sparkle to everyone I meet. And if I'm being completely honest, my plan is to wear pink tutus until the end of time. After all, it's never too late for some cosmic fashion fun!
Now, I’m off to plan my next adventure! Where will I be going next week? Stay tuned! In the meantime, send your pink tutu questions and stories over to www.pink-tutu.com and let’s get this cosmic ball rolling, lovelies!
Stay pink and sparkly!
Lots of love,
Emma xx
