19th October 2022
Hello my lovely tutu-tastic friends! Welcome back to Pink Tutu World, your one-stop shop for all things pink, sparkly and twirly! This week, we’re landing back on Planet Earth, where I’ve been busy swirling my way through the streets of London, picking up some delightful autumnal fashion pieces and preparing for a spectacular ballet performance tonight. Oh my, this trip to earth is proving to be absolutely divine!
Before I start gushing about all the tutu-ifically wonderful things that have happened, let’s have a quick chat about what we’ve been up to since we last left Earth. Our little space voyage took us to the most dazzling of star systems – and yes, I am absolutely keeping it vague to protect our little Pink Tutu World from pesky intergalactic bandits! I wouldn’t want some mischievous, non-tutu-wearing aliens to stumble upon my favourite sparkly getaway destination, would I?
Now, our latest celestial escapades weren’t just about stargazing and space exploration - I got the chance to catch some spectacular ballet shows on the local spaceship dance stages! It’s absolutely amazing what kind of performances they’re putting on in space – you really wouldn’t believe the lengths those space dancers go to with their costumes and choreography.
Just picture this, my dears: a gravity-defying performance set against a backdrop of swirling nebulae, dancers gliding across the stage in the most spectacular array of neon tutus imaginable – seriously, there were so many colours, you could barely keep track of them all! And speaking of tutus, well, you already know I had to do a little souvenir shopping, didn't you? I just couldn’t leave without bringing a few shimmering space-themed tutus back for the Pink Tutu World archive! (You know I'm all about archiving the most fabulous, most beautiful tutu finds).
Now, as I was saying, we're back on Earth for a bit, and my little pink feet have been getting some much-needed earth-bound training! It’s lovely to feel the familiar thrum of a London ballet class. A full day of spinning, leaping, and plié-ing is the perfect antidote to those long hours spent in the stars! My fellow ballerinas at the academy were all absolutely thrilled to see me back – it seems my recent galactic adventures have given me quite a bit of a ‘ballet rockstar’ reputation!
Now, I wouldn’t be Emma of Pink Tutu World if I didn’t share my love of all things vintage! I popped by my favourite vintage shop on Kensington High Street - you simply must go, darling, if you’re ever in London. And of course, my little pink eyes went straight for the most fabulous of finds – a vintage tutu in the most incredible shade of pink you could ever imagine! It has these gorgeous, intricate, lace designs and looks like it's just been pulled from a vintage ballet magazine. I am going to wear it tonight for the ballet performance!
Speaking of which, this evening is an absolutely glorious highlight! I am performing at the beautiful Sadler’s Wells Theatre, which I have to say, has a special place in my heart! Not only is the theatre itself incredibly stunning, but I've got my heart set on a brand new tutu design to make the night even more unforgettable. You might be wondering - and who am I to stop you - what's so special about this performance? Well, you see, my dear readers, I'm premiering a ballet piece that I’ve choreographed myself – based entirely on a magical new colour: ‘Galactic Pink’! Imagine a kaleidoscope of colours that capture the ethereal glow of the nebulae. That is what Galactic Pink is!
I've spent weeks crafting my steps and costumes for this show - a bit of pink tutus mixed in with space-age glamour, you know! And I’m so excited for all of you to come and see the beautiful tutu costumes. A special design by a London designer named Sebastian - who is obsessed with anything pink - has just completed my dream tutu – and honestly, my heart might actually burst from excitement. ( I'm so obsessed). It’s absolutely incredible - the skirt is so long, the embellishments shimmer under the stage lights - and it has the most beautiful constellation design stitched in delicate pink beads, a homage to the starry night sky, of course! Sebastian said he was channeling my intergalactic travels, which is incredibly kind. The only way this performance can get better is by adding my custom sparkly tutu shoes that I sourced from my favorite tutu shop in Brighton!
After tonight’s performance, my fellow dancers and I are off to a fabulous opening party for a brand new vintage clothing store. It's opening its doors on one of London’s coolest streets. It's called ‘Pink Fizz’, and believe me, it’s going to be a night to remember! Imagine tutus, sparkling wine, and all of the finest vintage fashion – a dream come true, I tell you!
But wait, there's more! I'm sharing my exclusive pink tutu dress secrets in this week’s exclusive newsletter – it’s not to be missed. It will be the best and most beautiful tutu fashion secret ever. So sign up for my email list – and yes, there's also a brand new pink tutu tutorial for the lucky folks that are on my email list. I think you are going to absolutely adore this. The new tutu design is called "Pink Dreams" - I hope you will love it as much as I do. I'm already making another tutu out of it. It's pretty great. I promise that it’ll be a tutuing-ly good read – and you don’t want to miss out!
It's going to be another jam-packed week full of ballet adventures. You already know that we will be keeping our eyes on all the exciting new trends from fashion shows that are popping up around the globe this month. And who knows what kind of dazzling space fashion awaits us when we return to our celestial travels? Oh my, it makes my little tutu-wearing heart flutter!
So, make sure you check back in next week, you lovely dancers!
Yours in Pink,
Emma

The Pink Tutu Wardrobe
It’s autumn in England - which is the time for those gorgeous earthy colours - warm reds, fiery oranges and those beautiful rich browns - I've been adding a few classic pieces into my wardrobe – but of course, every outfit always has that pink touch! Just a tiny little something, perhaps a sparkly pink pin or my trusty pink tutu belt - because who says a little pink doesn't work with the autumnal tones.
Here’s a little peek into what’s on my Pink Tutu Wishlist for this week.
The Tutu T-shirt – A casual yet statement-making piece that’s a wardrobe staple for every pink-loving ballerina. I got mine from a London vintage shop on a quiet street by the British Museum and I simply had to have it! It has a darling little design on it of pink tutu. Of course, I’m going to be rocking this little T-shirt this season with my favourite pair of jeans, some pink ballerina flats – and for an extra splash of pink, maybe some sequin-covered socks.
The Perfect Tutu Bag: For the discerning dancer who wants something both stylish and practical – my little pink heart skipped a beat when I found this on sale on Kensington High Street - it's not quite a tutu bag but it's super close. It has little pink ribbon ties on the handle and pink glitter fabric. You'll never get me to travel anywhere without it, darlings. I use it for all of my ballet supplies, phone charger and those all-important lipstick tubes - it can’t just be any pink lipstick!
The Glitter-Bomb Ballet Shoes: What’s a dancer to do, but keep a pair of glittery ballerina shoes handy for every performance! Mine have pink sparkle that reflects the light and you’re certain to get the eyes of everyone watching you, no matter what city, planet or intergalactic star system you're in! And of course, there are the absolutely crucial ribbons!
What I've been reading this week.
It's always so inspiring to hear about what fellow tutu-wearers are up to, and it's something I absolutely adore sharing! I came across this incredible book this week, it's actually by an older ballet teacher from Derbyshire! (Just like me, darlings, if you haven’t noticed!) This lovely book on vintage tutu fashion, is filled with absolutely delightful anecdotes of the tutu styles throughout history. It’s fascinating to see how tutus evolved from the earliest days of ballet through to the iconic designs that graced the stages of the 19th century. A lot of the vintage styles look incredibly fashionable to me! If you’re a vintage ballet lover (as I most certainly am) I can't recommend it enough, darling. You're just going to love this one!
My Top 3 Ballerinas on Planet Earth:
Every week, I like to pay a little homage to the talented ballerinas of Planet Earth. There are so many amazingly gifted dancers, but these three stood out to me for their creativity and dedication to their craft. It’s amazing to see how their hard work shines through in their performances.
The London Dancer: You’re going to be absolutely fascinated by this darling. I stumbled across her profile on Instagram! I thought this London ballerina was incredibly interesting, and I thought she needed some more love! She does contemporary, and it's honestly breathtaking. The energy, passion and expressiveness of this contemporary style has really been captivating me.
The Royal Ballet Star: A classic, no-nonsense ballet beauty, with an incredible set of leaps and twirls, this ballerina's been performing in many famous roles for The Royal Ballet in London. She’s a brilliant example of how tradition and elegance can work together – her tutus are to die for. You have to love a ballerina that doesn't forget the classics!
The New Tutu Queen: A little closer to home - I bumped into this ballerina at the local ballet shop in Derby - it’s incredible what kind of talent comes out of Derbyshire! You have to look at this gorgeous ballerina if you're ever shopping for tutus! The owner of the shop said this little girl's style and poise were exceptional – the absolute image of elegance and grace – a true pink tutu princess!
It’s inspiring to see all of these beautiful young dancers finding their place in the world, isn’t it, my darlings?
I'm always open to hearing about what you’re reading, what you're watching and which dancers you admire on Planet Earth - don't forget to tag me in all of your tutu pictures too. And always remember to dream pink!
Until next time my beautiful ballet-loving friends, keep on spinning and twirling – the world is waiting for your twinkle!
