Planet Earth, 2nd November 2022 - #PinkTutuWorld - Blog Post #1436

Hello darlings! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for a brand new Pink Tutu World blog post, straight from planet Earth! It's been another whirlwind of a week here - oh, the places I've been, the tutus I've tried on, the shows I've seen! Honestly, it's a good job I have my spaceship for getting around because it seems like I never stop! But as my motto says, "Life is a tutu to be worn, darling, so twirl it with gusto!"

Speaking of gusto, let's get down to business! I've just got back from a stunning ballet show at the Royal Opera House in London - The Sleeping Beauty! Oh my! The costumes were divine, especially the Princess Aurora's gorgeous pink dress, with a hint of purple that made it just dreamy. And the music! It swept me away on a magical journey. But let me tell you, the best bit was the grand pas de deux, so breathtaking, you could have heard a pin drop in the audience. I must say, I can't imagine a better way to spend an evening than watching brilliant dancers and amazing costumes. Honestly, ballet always brings a smile to my face!

But let's not forget the shopping, darlings! Now, you know I have a bit of a penchant for all things pink, and finding the perfect tutu for a new adventure is half the fun. So after the ballet, naturally, I hit the shops. Found a stunning, custom-made tutu at "Ballerina Dreams" in Covent Garden. Think, swirling layers of pink silk with a sprinkle of delicate silver sequins! And guess what, I managed to convince the shop assistant to make me a little matching pair of ballet flats! The owner is an absolute darling. She’s even planning on having me to do a show for the shop's annual ‘Pink Tutu Party.’ Squee! How amazing is that?!

It's not all about shopping, though, darling! It's vital to soak up culture, history and those inspiring places where dance started its amazing journey. Today, I’m headed back home to Derbyshire, my little slice of heaven on Earth, to do some research into the ballet history of our lovely city. My favourite bookshop has an old archive room, crammed with ancient books, dusty, yellowing papers and precious sketches of Derbyshire's history, including all things dance! Apparently, Derbyshire is known for a specific type of ‘Maypole Dance’ dating back centuries! Fascinating!. It’s not exactly ballerinas in tutus, but they did wear very pretty floral outfits, so it’s close enough, right?

Of course, darling, no trip home is complete without a proper dose of home comforts. And no, I'm not just talking about a steaming cuppa and a slice of Victoria sponge! It’s tutues, darling! You wouldn't believe how many amazing tutus you can find in the charming little shops of my home town. And when I'm not busy shopping, I'm at my dance studio, putting those sparkly pink tutus through their paces! I've even been experimenting with new routines - adding a little "Emma flair" to some old favourites. My teacher is amazing! You know, all those pirouettes, leaps and even just those elegant little arabesques - they all work out best in a nice pink tutu, right?

Anyway, darling, I must dash off. It's nearly lunchtime and I’m rather craving a good old English fry up, but with a splash of pink of course, my mum always does a great sausage and egg sandwich with pink fairy floss and a side of pickled onions in my favourite pink Tupperware. And who knows where I’ll end up next. The Universe, my dear, is calling for pink tutus! And darling, remember – stay pink! And stay sparkly! We are a Pink Tutu Universe, one tutu at a time!

P.S. Did you know that the colour pink represents femininity, compassion, nurturing and playfulness? Oh, and love, obviously! All of those lovely qualities – and tutus – should be shared. Let's bring pink to everyone's life. And remember, everyone can be a ballet princess! Twirl, spin and dream your way to pink bliss, darlings!

See you next week, same time, same place! And don’t forget to follow my Instagram (@EmmaPinkTutu) for even more pink and tutus from my journey through space.

Lots of love,

Emma (Your Favourite Pink Tutu Warrior!)
