Hello darlings! Welcome back to Pink Tutu World, where the colour pink reigns supreme and tutus are the universal language! It’s Wednesday, 7th December 2022 and guess what? I’m back on dear old planet Earth! 🪐
Well, after my dazzling interstellar journey last week (you know, the one involving an impromptu waltz with a green-skinned alien in a galaxy made entirely of glitter?) I felt a certain… longing for home. The human touch, you know? Plus, my suitcase was frankly groaning under the weight of all the fabulous outfits I’d bought on my travels – it’s tough to resist a multicoloured nebula silk scarf when it's staring you in the face! 😉
But enough about my latest escapades (though I do have some rather racy anecdotes I'll share later). This week’s post is all about… ballet! Yup, my favourite hobby, my lifelong passion, my calling! ✨ Because, while I love to travel, you can't beat the sheer joy of a ballet show – that electrifying mix of elegance and athleticism. And here on Earth, we've got some pretty fabulous dance companies, you know!
I just spent the most heavenly evening at the Royal Opera House. You can’t beat a grand night out at Covent Garden. They were putting on Swan Lake, a true classic – although the poor little ballerina, Odette, definitely needs a bit more pep in her step! I mean, it's a tough gig being turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer (you wouldn't catch me dating a character like that!). I'm thinking next time, I might slip her a little note about my pink-tutu-infused power yoga regime – might make the whole swans-on-a-lake scene a bit more, shall we say, invigorating? 🤔
Of course, no ballet-loving outing to London would be complete without a little ballet-themed shopping spree. And speaking of… look what I snagged! 👠

How divine is that, darlings? This little beauty is made from the softest, most exquisite vegan leather. It's going to be my go-to ballet bag for every performance, class, and trip to the Royal Opera House from now on. And just wait until you see the sparkly little details... it's all pink glitter and fairy-light-esque embroidery! ✨
While on the topic of shopping, darling, you won't believe what I found! It was hidden away in this tiny, little boutique, nestled amongst the backstreets of Notting Hill. The most exquisite tutu shop, filled with layers of chiffon and silk, and delicate tulle, each in a different shade of pink imaginable! You know I can’t resist a tutu – I mean, how else could you possibly get that ethereal ballerina flow? 😉

And it wasn’t just tutus – the owner was practically overflowing with all sorts of charming ballet-themed treasures: vintage ballet shoes, silk ribbons for the perfect hair-do, even these divine little antique, ballerina-shaped brooches! Let me tell you, my little pink tutu world just got a little bit more sparkly!
Of course, London’s only one spot on the planet I adore for ballet. My heart beats a bit faster every time I’m in Paris – the city of love is also a haven for all things ballerinas, darling! I remember my first trip to the Palais Garnier Opera House - it was the ultimate fairytale. 🇫🇷
And what’s a ballerina’s life without ballet classes? Every Monday night, I’m right there at the barre in Derbyshire (you wouldn’t believe the amazing classes you find even in the smallest villages, darling!) with my beloved teacher, Mrs. Beaumont, who still insists on us all wearing pointe shoes… oh, she’s a hard one!
I even make time for a bit of “ballet street,” too, if you know what I mean! Just the other day, I saw this darling group of young lads busting some incredible moves down at the local youth centre. Apparently, ballet is really hip with the teens these days! You’ve gotta love those street-style adaptations! It’s all about spreading the tutu-licious love, darlings, right? The world is a much better place when we embrace elegance, beauty, and graceful movement!
So, there you have it, a glimpse of my world, my passion, my life. As you can see, my love affair with the world of ballet knows no bounds - it’s not just about the moves, it's about the feeling, the magic, the elegance that washes over you when you truly connect with the rhythm of dance. And when it’s done in a dazzling, pink, tutu, well, it's simply unforgettable, darlings!
