Oh, my darling dears! What a week it has been! I'm so excited to be back on Planet Earth, sharing my intergalactic adventures with you. My sparkly pink spaceship landed back in Derbyshire this morning, the early-morning sunshine glistening on the frosted grass like a million tiny diamonds, and my heart, well, it was already in that delightful pre-ballet class fluttering, all excited and giddy!
I have to tell you, though, it felt extra-special coming home this week. As I looked out the window, the world looked...well, pinker! Maybe it was the post-apocalyptic snowfall earlier in the week – you know I adore wintery landscapes – that was catching the light in a special way, making it look more blush-toned. But no matter the reason, this felt like a beautiful and appropriate welcome after my latest out-of-this-world journey!
And speaking of journeys, my latest escapade took me to a fascinating and beautiful planet called Velveteen! It’s named for its signature velvety blue atmosphere and lush emerald landscapes. Velveteen is known across the cosmos for its vibrant, creative, and oh-so-fashionable culture, so needless to say, I felt completely at home.
Let's just say the locals love their pink tutus – in fact, they see it as a mark of self-expression and a celebration of individuality, just like we do here on Earth. Of course, their tutus are a little more advanced than ours: Imagine tutus that shimmer, change colour, and even project their own musical accompaniments! I felt like a fairytale character just strolling around town, and of course, I brought back a few Velveteen tutus with me – they'll be the highlight of my new "Galactic Glow" performance!
Velveteen’s love affair with ballet stretches back centuries, but it's been amplified in the last 100 years by the development of the Cosmic Swan. Can you imagine, darling, ballet but with zero gravity! It’s mind-boggling! The dancers use anti-gravity shoes to twirl, soar, and create incredible feats of aerial artistry, a beautiful ballet in 3D. I must say, I felt my heart soar when I saw it!
But don't worry, my earthling darlings, I didn't forget about my regular ballet adventures. Last week, I saw the most exquisite performance by the National Ballet Company here on Planet Earth – Swan Lake, in all its glittering and captivating glory. It’s truly a breathtaking ballet, showcasing some of the most technical, powerful, and elegant dancing I've ever seen! It was an experience that had me dreaming of swans and lakes in the most glorious hues of white and black.
Before I embark on my latest Earthly mission - a ballet-inspired charity fundraising ball - I want to tell you a bit about this week's pink tutu fashion find: Pinky Swear, a darling little vintage store on Earth. Imagine shelves stacked high with sparkly and colorful vintage tutus, all meticulously chosen, waiting for a new life to be breathed into them. And it's not just about the tutus, darlings; there are all sorts of beautiful accessories - delicate tiaras, feather boas, even shimmering wands! I picked out a delicate peach-colored tulle tutu, a perfect shade for springtime. Can't wait to showcase it in my next performance!
And as you know, I can’t talk about fashion without mentioning the incredible new line of ballet-inspired shoes by Step by Step, launching this week in every store on the planet! Their "Galaxy Glam" collection features sneakers that have been reimagined with all sorts of shimmering, starry patterns and twinkling pink accents, perfect for both ballerinas and everyday adventurers like me! I think they’ll be a hit in my dance routines!
Don't forget, dears, you can join my Pink Tutu world adventures each Wednesday on www.pink-tutu.com. Until next week, I'll be exploring Earth's hidden ballet gems. Remember, a little pink sparkle is always the best remedy for a Monday morning, and as the Queen of Pink Tutuw, I know you all want to pink-up your world!
Love, Emma x
