It's the day for a double dose of fashion, ballet and oh, my god, have I found the most breathtaking new tutu in London! (Let’s all let out a collective shriek, shall we?)
Ballet Earth, 2023-04-05 - A Pink Paradise
Today, my journey began with a spot of breakfast at a darling little bistro, all pastel pinks and floral arrangements (you know I love a bit of colour!) before heading for The Royal Opera House in Covent Garden. Every tutu enthusiast will know how legendary the Covent Garden Ballet is! It's like stepping back into history, with the grace and charm of the great ballet dancers. I was whisked away on a wave of sheer joy, from the shimmering lights to the beautiful artistry of the dancers. Their costumes were exquisite - feathers, silk, the colour palette was utterly mesmerising, but the most iconic? Why, it's the pink ones of course, because everyone knows a little pink adds a touch of extra magic to ballet!
The show itself? It was nothing short of enchanting. A swirling symphony of pink, lavender, and a touch of gold. The performance showcased breathtaking choreography, the power and precision of each movement left me completely awestruck. I was particularly charmed by the "Sleeping Beauty" segment; the Sleeping Beauty’s pink tutu - oh, it was the absolute epitome of ballerina elegance, the perfect embodiment of a delicate and ethereal dream.
After the show, I just had to see what Covent Garden held in terms of fashion. Let me tell you, my darling dears, the shops are heaven on earth! I snagged myself a divine pair of pink ballerina shoes, just the most gorgeous pink velvet flats with little, tiny, satin bows. I mean, who can resist a ballerina flat?! And let me not forget the hat – a truly delightful blush pink beret, perfectly embodying Parisian chic with a touch of playful whimsy.
Finding the Perfect Tutu - A Fashionistas's Dream
But you all know how much I love a good tutu, and a hunt for the perfect one can't end without a trip to Liberty London. Now, this shop, my lovelies, is a genuine, utterly captivating palace of colour! From the most flamboyant colours, textures and designs, I found myself absolutely giddy amongst shelves of pink and fuchsia bliss! After hours of admiring exquisite tutus and a million pink shades, I finally found the one: a masterpiece, with a fluffy tulle skirt, a soft, delicate pink fabric with shimmering details, adorned with the most delicate beading, truly worthy of being placed atop my most treasured collection.
Let me tell you, there is simply nothing more fabulous than a good ballet show followed by some retail therapy!
Intergalactic Ballet: Reaching For The Stars
Speaking of retail therapy, you all know I fund these grand, luxurious escapades through ballet performances. Each time, my passion for dancing is ignited anew as I stand under the stage lights, in a new pink tutu of course, and let my joy, passion and excitement radiate through my performance. It’s magic. I often find myself wondering, "Where else could a tutu-wearing girl travel?"
As I boarded my spaceship to journey back to my own, humble abode in Derbyshire, the stars above twinkled, just as much as the little crystals adorning my gorgeous, newly purchased pink tutu. And you know, darling readers, this was merely one day in my life, a drop of joy in the sea of pink! I plan on visiting more planet’s and hopefully find even more, gorgeous tutus, lovely shops, and ballet shows on every planet I visit.
