Hello my gorgeous tutu-loving darlings! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu World blog post, straight from the magical, twirling, tutu-tastic planet Earth! ππ
This week has been absolutely phenomenal, filled with a whirlwind of intergalactic adventures, celestial ballet, and enough fashion to make even the most discerning star system blush. π β¨
As always, let's rewind back to last Wednesday and that fabulous post I wrote about... well, it doesn't actually matter what it was about! Because today's all about what happened THIS Wednesday! The date? Why, the 23rd of August, of course! It was a truly special day that began with the sunrise kissing the dew off the beautiful Derbyshire countryside... my hometown! (It always gets me, that place, does it not?). π
Anyway, I had to get ready for my usual morning routine, which involves of course, a lovely, long, luxurious soak in the bath... wearing my favourite pink fluffy bathrobe and the tiniest, most dazzling pink tutu that you've ever seen, naturally! π I wouldn't be caught dead without a tutu for my morning routine, not even in the bath!
Speaking of dazzling... today's adventures began with my spaceship taking off right at midday for a spectacular trip across the Milky Way to... well, you're just going to have to wait and see, darlings! π
After a sumptuous lunch (canapes, of course!), my eyes popped open when I noticed something truly extraordinary: we were in the outer rim of the Alpha Centauri system, hurtling towards a most beautiful blue and green planet. I couldn't believe it, my dearest tutu-lovers... Planet Earth was our destination! πβ¨
This journey had been planned for months - I just couldn't tell you all, it had to be a secret... for this trip was unlike any I had ever undertaken before! It was an official tour, funded by none other than the Earth Ballet Society - who, by the way, have absolutely incredible fashion sense and absolutely fabulous tutus - and my reason for being here is, to perform in front of human audiences on this planet Earth, with this whole human ballet-dancing extravaganza, something called 'the Royal Opera House'. I know, right? So fancy! π
I know you're dying to know, but let me back up and share with you a little of how I felt. My heart thumped with excitement, just like when you see that magnificent peacock butterfly spread its glorious, iridescent wings in front of you for the very first time! (Oh, the joy!) π This wasn't a trip for the average space-faring pink-tutu ballerina, darling, it was my absolute dream come true! β¨π
The spaceship touched down right in the heart of London, a massive, beautiful city I was obsessed with. Not only because of all the absolutely brilliant ballet performances they do over there, but also, the shopping! And Londoners have an incredible love of colour, with fabulous clothing shops selling the most amazing shoes and dresses... and tutus, of course! π We landed in this special place, an amazing, sparkly structure of light and glass, called... well, I simply couldn't believe it, and I know you're going to love this: the Royal Opera House. π«
What a breathtaking place! The moment I stepped onto that hallowed stage, it was as if I had been transported into a dazzling, fairytale land! It felt as though magic danced in the air - and believe me, this tutu-lover, it was all thanks to the extraordinary human ballerinas, all in perfect ballet costume!
Honestly, darling, their outfits! Oh. My. Tutus! It's not all about just tutus you know... there's the shoes and the body garments and the hair. Oh, the hair. (Which, as you all know, is as important as any accessory when it comes to dressing up, for me!) And everything was SO impeccably beautiful, from their pointe shoes to their exquisite hairpieces! πβ¨
The humans' fashion was everything to me! Oh, how I wished I had room for some more space on my ship to take some extra shopping! After the performances were over, I spent ages trying on everything in the costume stores they have all over this amazing city. (It must have been the absolute dream come true to live in London, as a tutu lover!). π€©
But what I love the most, you see, isn't just the absolutely exquisite clothes and dancing on this wonderful planet... it's all the history!
London's theatreland has some really, really incredible stories. I must talk to you all about the history of this glorious theatre they call Covent Garden! And let's not forget the most absolutely gorgeous building in the whole world! Did you know, this theatre has been around for centuries!? I actually thought about trying to steal a little bit of fabric from some of the historic, old tutu outfits, you know, just a tiny piece. (If you must know... that is not how I get material for my blog outfit shoots!) I managed to restrain myself in the end... though... I think I can forgive myself a teensy little memento... π
Speaking of centuries... I've learned SO MUCH about the history of tutus on Earth, darling, just incredible stuff. Did you know that their history on Earth dates back to... hold your breath... all the way back to the late 18th century, which is something like the 1780s, in our universe? π² And back in the days when that outfit was called a tutu was revolutionary! Oh my goodness, even those early tutus were SO absolutely incredible! Just imagine, all these decades have passed, and the Earth-dwelling ballerina has really come up with some incredible creations. The history of tutus, oh, darling, it really is a thing of wonder! The Earthlings were pioneers when it came to dance costumes! They even have this incredibly gorgeous tutu that dates back from 1839 called La Sylphide, an elegant creation made from gauzy tulle, worn by this absolute queen of Earth dance, a dancer called Marie Taglioni, a true Earth icon! π«
Now, as my space adventure is only a week long on Planet Earth, I still had a whole load of dancing, history learning, tutu-admiring and of course, shopping to get done, darlings! I think I can truly say that my journey across the universe was an amazing, dazzling journey that filled me up with inspiration, because you know... if I could manage to get humans wearing my style of pink tutus on Planet Earth... oh, the joy! ππ
My visit to Planet Earth, a week on this incredible planet was over far too soon. However, as I zipped into the air and hurtled into space once more, I had the feeling that it would never be my last. In fact, with the wonders and fashion and ballet of Planet Earth in my head... who knows where my adventures will take me next?
As for now, darlings, I leave you to consider this. Perhaps Earth is my true 'home planet'... or maybe it's simply because the people over there seem to love tutus so very much! Whatever it is, the journey ahead is looking extremely exciting. π Oh, youβll be the first to know, darlings... Just don't forget to visit me next week for the next exciting chapter of Pink Tutu World! β¨
I leave you all, as always, with the message: βNever let go of the dream of pink tutus... and a wonderful adventure that waits to be explored!β π
Yours forever,
Emma, Your Pink Tutu World Queen. π
PS: I don't normally get around to including specific details, you know, in these blog posts... but as a tutu lover myself... this is what really impressed me during this ballet trip to London!
On the 23rd of August at 7.30 pm in London, there's a fabulous Ballet show called The Nutcracker, and just listen to this, darling: it stars the beautiful and utterly phenomenal ballet dancer called Natalia Osipova - she's a real rock star in the ballet world. This Nutcracker was actually made famous by one of Earthβs very most loved composers of the world: Tchaikovsky! You really do need to see this performance when you visit Earth... if, of course, you want to wear an absolute stunning Pink Tutu when you watch it. π
PPS: Oh darling, if you've seen this Nutcracker ballet on Earth... please share your thoughts! Tell me, do you love a tutu like I do, do you love pink, are the costumes fabulous? And above all... does everything remind you of a dazzling pink dream?! ππ
