Pink Tutu World: Ballet on Planet Earth - Post #1521 - 19th June 2024

Hello my lovely Tutus!

Welcome back to Pink Tutu World! I’m Emma, your very own intergalactic fashion and ballet blogger, and I’m so excited to be back on planet Earth with you this week.

My last intergalactic jaunt was a total whirlwind - and yes, of course, it involved lots of pink tutus. You see, it’s my mission, my passion, to get the whole universe wearing pink tutus! I know it sounds like a big, possibly even slightly bonkers, goal, but when you consider the fabulous power of a pink tutu - the grace, the twirl, the absolute confidence boost - it really makes sense.

So where was I? This week, I touched down back on Earth, my home planet, after a quick dash around the Milky Way. I must confess, even I get a little bit of travel fatigue now and again, especially after so much stellar jetsetting. So it was good to be back on terra firma! It’s amazing how the planet can be calming - well, most of the time, the volcanic eruptions can be a little scary, as can the thunderstorms!

But before I go into any more about my latest travel adventures, let's talk about something close to my heart - Ballet!

A Love Letter To Ballet:

Speaking of calm and serenity, what better way to settle back in than with some elegant, expressive, and oh-so-fabulous ballet! I absolutely love ballet. From the ethereal grace of the ballerinas to the incredible history, the tradition, the technicality – it is art at its most mesmerising. It’s more than a dance form; it’s an escape, a journey to another world.

Right now, I’m loving everything to do with the world of ballet on Planet Earth!

  • The Royal Ballet are putting on a new production of “La Sylphide” in Covent Garden, London. You just know the costumes and the sets are going to be breathtaking. This classic tale of love and sorrow set in 19th-century Scotland is always captivating. Plus, “La Sylphide” is so closely associated with tutus!

  • Down in beautiful Derbyshire, my home county, there’s a ballet competition happening this week. I can’t tell you how much I adore those young ballerinas and dancers. The passion and determination is something so wonderful to see, and the audience, of course, is absolutely full of joy, anticipation, and that unmistakable, slightly tense atmosphere of excitement! It’s the thrill of the big moment when the music starts and they take their first step! Just fabulous!

  • And let's not forget the incredible dancers of the Bolshoi! Did you catch their show this week in the States? I managed to snag a front row ticket from some extra terrestrial fashionistas who love my tutu blog. So glam! The dancers, their artistry, the incredible costumes and sets, it was totally mesmerising. They’re having a mini-tour of Planet Earth this year and are showing off their ballets to eager audiences all over the place!

A Tutu Moment of Reflection:

I must confess to a little bit of a personal ballet epiphany. Yes, really! While I’ve always loved the look of a classic, beautifully crafted tutu, I have to confess it's the pink ones that are the absolute most captivating for me! They exude such a unique aura of delicate elegance, power, and feminine charm. There's something incredibly enchanting about seeing a ballerina in a pink tutu move across the stage with such artistry, precision, and effortless beauty.

You'd think that, living in this vibrant and fashionable pink tutu world I've built for myself, this revelation might have come earlier - but hey, every girl’s got to have their epiphanies now and again!

Which brings me to this week's inspiration…

Pink Tutu World Inspiration - It’s Time to Dance and Twirl with Colour!

This week, it's all about the joyousness and magic of pink! The colour that’s full of vitality, energy, and pure excitement.

Remember: My whole point is, everyone looks amazing in pink tutus, whether you're 3 years old or 83 years old, an aspiring ballerina or someone who’s never put a toe in a dance studio. But it’s the tutus I love best, even those I never get to try on for myself, they are simply incredible!

Here's to all those pink tutus. I've even added a brand new Pink Tutu gallery to the Pink Tutu World Website - www.pink-tutu.com

Go on! Have a look at these fabulously stunning pink tutus.

Pink Tutu Look Of The Week:

This week I've spotted some real pink tutu inspiration. Look what this little star in LA wore to the ballet! She absolutely dazzled and I love that she's got that pink tutu style all sorted. Her style is absolutely spot on!

It’s not only pink tutus though - we've been finding some fabulous fashion moments on our space jaunts.

Fashion finds for the Week!

Now, I know we're talking about ballet here - the joy of seeing dancers soar across the stage and how magnificent they look! But don't underestimate the power of a great costume. It can make all the difference! It doesn't always have to be a tutu - but it certainly helps.

And when it comes to fabulous looks - let's face it - Planet Earth is definitely stepping it up a notch. We’ve seen the glitter and shimmer of sequins, and bold, beautiful prints, but there is still one thing that consistently sets a style statement and inspires us.

You've got it - It’s a simple PINK tutu!

I spotted a few fabulous outfits while I was in the States, but it was these two ensembles in Paris that just blew my mind:

  • A gorgeous Parisian blogger called Sophie who has that real "effortless style" - a sleek pink top with a fluffy tulle skirt that would put any ballerina to shame.
  • Then, there was a man named Jules, who is making a name for himself on Instagram as a dapper gent who dares to experiment! Jules was looking quite dapper - he actually managed to pull off a fabulous pink and silver sparkly blazer with his all black attire! I kid you not, Jules actually made a silver, pink sparkly tuxedo look fabulous. This man deserves a "best dressed man" award. What a style icon, I swear!
My Travel Journal

This week was packed full of intergalactic events, so my journal is full of the usual crazy scribbles, sketches of tutus and those amazing galactic landscapes. You guys need to see the colours! It’s absolutely spectacular!

But for now, it's time to take off again and continue to find more of the most dazzlingly fabulous pink tutus. I've got a date with a few tutu designers in Vienna. Let’s just say they have a pink-tastic line of tutus just waiting to be released to the world - and of course I'm planning to help them reach even wider audiences!

And what better way to end a blog about fashion and ballet than with a classic?

Here is “The Nutcracker” ballet performed by the Bolshoi, my all time favourite. Just watch this and you’ll know why: [add YouTube link]

Until next week my loves - keep those pink tutus twirling!
