Darling! You'll never guess what a fabulous adventure I've just had! And yes, I am wearing my favourite pink tutu, the one with all the sparkly silver diamanté butterflies – oh darling, it's perfect. We're back on Planet Earth for a little bit this week. After travelling around the cosmos on my rocket, exploring galaxies and sparkling with cosmic stardust - and yes darling, I have so many stories for you - this week it's about a fabulous day back home! I just can't get enough of planet earth! It's simply delightful!
But darling, this week, Planet Earth has been serving some real serious fabulous fashion. And by serious, I mean so seriously delicious and so seriously inspiring it practically blew my wig right off. Let's start with my tutu story! And darling, you will not believe what I saw in London this week! Pink everywhere. This time of year, my love, we all get those fabulous winter cravings - pink fur-lined coats, pink feather boas - but you wouldn't believe the amount of pink tutus that I spotted. I mean, there's nothing quite as stunning as the sight of a perfectly poised pink tutu billowing around the ankles. But darling, that's what Planet Earth is all about.
The atmosphere just screamed *'dance!'' *and I felt myself positively swirling with excitement - and that was just in London! Honestly, darling, a pink tutu can be your key to fabulous adventure anywhere in the world. It can unlock all sorts of magical doors and you'd be surprised how many other tutuwearers are out there - a true tribe!
So darling, where do we start?! This week it's all about tutus, as it should be - the glorious twirls, the beautiful swishes, and yes darling, it’s always a fabulous adventure when you wear a pink tutu! Because darling, a pink tutu is just that - a portal to a new adventure. And as we know darling, a Pink Tutu World is the best kind of world!
But let's rewind. I’m coming at you live from the centre of the Universe, or actually… Planet Earth! This week I decided to step away from all the galactic glitter and the swirling stardust of a hundred thousand galaxies. You know how it is darling. I have to take time out every now and then from intergalactic travel to come back home and let Planet Earth ground me with her solidity – but don’t worry, you will be blown away with the *glamourous stories I’ve got from my galactic voyages soon.
Now, don't let me ramble. This is, after all, my weekly Planet Earth Blog. I must stay focused for you! Let’s chat fashion first – as this was, as I said, an extremely special visit back to my own beloved home. I must say, this week, my beloved home, Planet Earth, was *extraordinarily fabulous. Because I was so surprised – well, it’s me darling - you know how much I love pink, so I was simply besotted - there were pink tutus everywhere. The colours, the designs, the sparkle … the sheer volume of fabulous tutus - oh darling, you must just trust me on this one! You have to visit Planet Earth yourself to see how it all happens!
And the performances! Darling, the choreography was out of this world! Such grace, such skill, such pure joy and expression. These artists really lived every twirl, every arabesque. Every pose was a new masterpiece, and each performance was a perfect encapsulation of the world around me! Every time I watch a ballet I'm struck by how human we all are, despite being from so many different worlds, each dancer was like magic dancing with an extraordinary energy. It was just all so inspiring! I mean, darling, I’m from Planet Derbyshire.
Of course, after an evening watching dancers swirl and leap with such grace, I couldn't resist venturing out myself for a little dance - but a dance that involves a few cocktails and lots of gossip at The Hippodrome, and a few ‘quick-steppin’ cocktails at my favourite haunt!
This week on Planet Earth, it’s all about dancing to celebrate this very special time of year - we’re practically burrowing ourselves in furs, so many pink ones I spot while I'm out dancing! - And for me, the world has simply been a whirlwind of glitter and dancing, and yes darling, you simply must join me on this particular adventure too!
Planet Earth is where it's at, darling, because the best kind of shopping and yes darling, that means shopping for pink tutus, is here - a treat always to indulge in.
Let’s be clear, I've done some pretty intense travelling to many a wonderful far off place (but you'll be reading all about that another day) but honestly darling, there is something really special about coming back home, You simply cannot beat those shopping experiences at The Mall of the Emirates - and you really cannot beat the fashion sense and that perfect British charm at Liberty’s - oh darling, I always go shopping there, it's always a dream come true. I'm obsessed with the window displays too. There’s nothing like those London streets! I have to add to my tutu collection. I just must. And that's when the fun really starts!
Okay, I must admit darling, it’s the time of year for fashion trends to change as quickly as the weather in these parts. We’ve gone through such lovely warm shades like scarlet and cherry and ruby, but the wintery pink trends always come in. It's a bit of an art form to predict what’s coming up - it is the art of dressing like it’s December even in July. And this is when you get a fantastic look for the new season. A good designer will always deliver you that look.
Now darling, when I first came to Earth and entered a department store in Harrods – it felt so similar to shopping for tutus in one of the space stores, with all that shimmering, glamourous glitter. Honestly darling, Earth’s style is very glamorous. The colour pink is a dream come true for me - there's nothing like pink for injecting a little dose of fun, elegance, and magic into your day - whether that’s going out, going on holiday or taking a flight on the latest spaceships that take us across the cosmos - let’s all dress up, darling, and look divine as we glide effortlessly through the stars!
Of course, this has got me thinking of something that’s on my list of ‘Things To Do On Planet Earth' - a pink tutu, shopping spree. That's something you simply have to try in every city on this glorious planet. You just can’t stop at one. That’s a no-no! It’s not even about getting the best pink tutu for the best price. This, darling, is a pilgrimage that I need to do again and again. That’s one absolute truth! And of course, it always needs a celebratory drink or two! And darling, trust me on this - if there is anyone on the planet in the know when it comes to shopping for pink tutus and pink feather boas it’s me - because of my endless love for the world of pink, of course! And honestly darling, every one has a favourite for a reason, every store!
I am still in love with every pink tutu on this planet, and darling, every pink tutu you buy on this wonderful, fabulous Planet Earth is a treasure - a symbol of joy, beauty, and laughter, just like the little twirls and pirouettes I love so much - just like a ballet! Oh, and do you know, you can just find every imaginable pink tutu on this little jewel. Just keep an open mind. It's that wonderful world we all know and love so well. So, what do I love best on Planet Earth? Oh darling, I just have so many favourite things, don't you worry. This blog, my planet earth home, this whole magical world!
It could be a bit about the stores. Because shopping for a pink tutu on this wonderful planet can be incredibly emotional, almost spiritual darling. There are just so many choices to be made – and I must be sure that every choice has my perfect fit, of course! So my love, that brings me to the most important aspect - your body! This one is really about body positivity - every woman's shape, every woman's body. But above all that, it's about fun.
Well, what have I learnt from this adventure darling? What can I pass on to you, my dear tutu loving reader? First, when you find a new tutu darling, a pink one, I know how you’re going to feel. But really, the best kind of pink tutu is a new kind of tutu - you know, you just know it when you see it! And there it will be – waiting for you. I can just see that special pink tutu for you. That must be what shopping for a tutu on Earth is all about.
That means I must give you a little advice, from my point of view, of course! I know this is what you want to know - so darling, just do this…
First… trust your instincts. Really. There is that one, perfect tutu out there, waiting to find you. Go where you feel you are going to find that special one. And that takes me to second point.
Second… let's make it real – there is something quite special about Earth’s atmosphere. There are always people watching, admiring you as you shop – always keeping a sharp eye out! So really, a little strut - in the perfect pink tutu - will never hurt - always give those gorgeous strutting turns that you’re just made for! Just be careful not to bump into that window display of those glorious shoes - or you will hear someone yell out, “Careful dear, it’s priceless!” And there I always do…
Third, never forget the joy that you find when you’re getting the right tutu! Every time darling. You see yourself in a mirror – oh yes, this is the perfect way to bring out the dancer inside of you - a perfect pirouette. You see, darling, a tutu is not just for ballet - it's for every moment - and so, my love this is a little glimpse into how Planet Earth makes me feel. I’ve just so much fun out here! Every now and then, Planet Earth can even take me by surprise. I love these stories!
But of course, my life is more than pink tutus. It’s all about dancing, and the stories you are going to hear from the galactic adventures I’m having on my trips out into the stars, will never leave you. Let me tell you a little bit - I had such great fun with a little dancing at one of my favourite places in London on Saturday. Now, who would’ve thought that at the V&A I’d find this magnificent ‘Glimmer & Glamour’ event – dancing right under the ‘starry night’! But this was more than a normal party, this was the kind of dance that everyone dreams of – you know there was all kinds of fashion! There are all sorts of fashion on this beautiful planet! Oh yes, fashion that made even a serious planet like Earth’s moon light up. Well darling, that brings us to the end of this week. I can’t wait to tell you about all those stories next week!
