Hello my darling darlings! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another thrilling Pink Tutu World adventure, direct from planet Earth! 🌸
I know you all are itching for an update, and you're right to be! Last week, I was jetéing across the cosmos to visit a fabulously fabulous supernova party thrown by the Galactic Glitterati. Let me tell you, my outfit was a total show-stopper: a custom-designed tutu adorned with constellations and nebulae sequins, of course in my signature shade of bubblegum pink. I had to give a little performance, and lemme tell you, those aliens loved it!
Ballet On Planet Earth: Back In My Bodily Form!
But enough about intergalactic revelry! I'm back on Earth for now, which means you can find me doing the most delightful things: sipping pink lemonade at Covent Garden after a breathtaking performance of Swan Lake, twirling through a magical world of sequins and velvet in a vintage shop (found the most incredible pink feather boa – it was practically calling my name!), or diving into a new ballet history book at the British Library (oh, the elegance and grace of the Victorian era dancers!)
Today's post, though, is all about a truly special event happening right here on Earth: Ballet on Planet Earth: A Day of Tutu-licious Celebration!
Ballet on Planet Earth - A Day of Dance
Yep, my darlings, it's the 9th of April 2025! Mark your calendars, because it's going to be an absolute whirlwind of tutus and tiaras! This is the day the Earth dedicates to all things ballet. It's a day to celebrate the beautiful, powerful art of ballet and all of its glorious facets.
We're talking ballets galore! I've been told there will be spectacular performances at the Royal Opera House, a fun-filled ballet marathon at the Barbican Centre, and a plethora of performances in charming little community halls and village squares all across England! You won't want to miss the ballet competition where up-and-coming young dancers will strut their stuff and maybe even steal the show with their incredible skills and grace! And, of course, let's not forget all the fantastic tutu parades taking place, where we'll see everything from the grandest tutus you could ever imagine to those made entirely from recycled materials. I might even be making a guest appearance in a little tutu show myself! You'll have to wait and see what I'm wearing… 🤫
A Whole Day Dedicated to My Passion
I must say, I'm rather excited. It's so wonderful that Planet Earth has chosen to dedicate a whole day to something I'm so passionate about! It's a testament to how powerful and inspiring dance is. It’s a language that everyone can understand and that transcends all boundaries! And with the colour pink being such an important element to a proper tutu, I am simply bursting with joy!
But there's something more, you see? The Ballet on Planet Earth is not just about performances, darling. It's about inspiring the next generation of ballerinas and dancers. I truly believe every single little girl and boy out there can benefit from the joy and beauty of ballet! The discipline, grace, and self-expression - ballet truly has it all! It's so important that young girls and boys are exposed to all of the wonderful opportunities dance has to offer, It's an outlet for emotions, for creativity, and it allows people to be confident in themselves!
I'm planning to give a special workshop to a group of young dancers in Derbyshire, my beautiful home county, on how to create a show-stopping tutu. We're going to create the most magnificent tutus you've ever seen – a pink paradise, I'd say! And then I'm planning to organize a street ballet performance for them! Let's fill Derbyshire with the joy of dance!
Why I’m So Excited about the Ballet Day on Earth
And here's another thing: it’s the perfect opportunity to talk about the historical impact of ballet on the world. Have you heard about the beautiful, elegant ballerinas in the era of Marie Antoinette? I adore their tulle dresses! And let’s not forget how the grand tutus from the late 19th century became a fashion icon all across Europe!
In short, darlings, the Ballet on Planet Earth is going to be a blast! You can count on me being front and centre, celebrating this magnificent art form in my most dazzling tutu (I’ve even had a special new one made just for this occasion!), and sharing all of my pink tutu joy with the world!
Oh! Before I go! I want to hear about your ballet plans. Tell me about your favourite ballet, the tutu you dream of owning, and all your plans for celebrating Ballet on Planet Earth. I love hearing from my loyal readers! Share your thoughts and dreams below in the comments and make sure to join me next Wednesday for another incredible Pink Tutu World adventure! ✨
Much love and many twirls,
Emma x
P.S. Did you see those fabulous tutus from the new ballet adaptation of The Little Mermaid? I loved them! And that costume design for Ursula?! Divine! Don't you just want to swim with the sharks with a pink sequinned tutu on?
P.P.S This is going to be an amazing week! Be sure to catch the fashion shows in Paris. It seems the entire world is moving towards bolder colors and bolder styles. Just like tutus should be, wouldn't you agree, darlings?
P.P.P.S Keep your eyes peeled for an extra special announcement next week. I am thrilled to share with you some exciting news about how Pink Tutu World is going to spread even more joy across the cosmos! Can you guess what it might be? You'll have to wait and see!
