Hey my darling dears! It's Emma, your favourite pink tutu-clad intergalactic explorer, back with another instalment from Planet Earth.
As you know, my spaceship, aptly named "The Pink Pointe", is a swirling vortex of sparkly sequins and tulle – perfect for traversing the cosmos and bringing a touch of ballerina magic wherever I land. This week, I'm back on Planet Earth for a whirlwind tour of some absolutely stunning ballets happening on this magnificent planet.
Now, I know what you're thinking: what is a girl who's always jet-setting through the cosmos doing with a week on dusty old Earth?
Well, I'll have you know, my darlings, that the terrestrial ballet scene is seriously picking up steam! They've got such inventive choreography here. Think about it: imagine a story told through pirouettes, with graceful jumps capturing the flight of a swallow. Then add a pinch of lyrical beauty with grand jetés depicting the moonlit waltz of celestial beings! That's what you're dealing with on Planet Earth, darling, a fusion of art and athleticism, breathtaking and divine.
I know what you're thinking...how does someone like me afford all this incredible intergalactic travel and amazing couture tutus? It’s a simple answer, my lovelies! I’ve found my niche! With a sprinkle of star power and a good old fashioned dance marathon, I perform ballets at local schools and theaters all over the globe, filling the hearts and minds of those who have yet to feel the power of a twirling tutu. They love me, I love them, it’s all very harmonious.
But back to Planet Earth! What are we dancing about this week? Well, prepare yourselves, because things are about to get very glamorous, very fashionable, and oh-so-pink!
Saturday 10th February 2027:
I’m headed to The Royal Opera House in London for a treat - Giselle! I have such a soft spot for Giselle! A hauntingly beautiful story, a beautiful heroine. The sheer amount of passion on display in the tragic, romantic plot, my heart flutters! They’ve got these incredible costumes too - layered tutus, and all those gorgeous flowing romantic styles for the peasants – all absolutely perfect! They make a simple but grand statement of beauty and emotion and of course, we all love an ethereal white tutu on a beautiful dancer! I am always moved by the performance of this ballet, from the delicate movements of the Act I romantic pas de deux to the frenetic chaos of the Act II wilis’ frenzy – a powerful contrast. The beauty, passion, and tragedy are what keep me coming back time and again. Oh, my darlings, my very soul is captivated!

But let's face it, my dear Earthly friends, every performance has something to teach us. Giselle for me, though a classic, highlights what is so special about ballet - passion, raw beauty, story-telling and of course - those exquisite costumes and breathtaking costumes that leave everyone breathless. Speaking of costumes, you’re going to want to brace yourself! I know what you're thinking, "Emma, you love pink tutus!" and yes you’re absolutely right. But every colour holds meaning - pink stands for love, grace, gentleness, compassion, and, yes, that cosmic charm of a Pink Tutu Girl!
