Helloooo my lovely tutu-loving friends! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another fabulous Pink Tutu World post. I'm buzzing with excitement to share my latest adventure with you! š This week I'm waltzing through the cosmos with a heart full of twirls and a tutu even brighter than a supernova!
So grab your fanciest tutus, a cuppa, and settle in for a delightful intergalactic journey with me!
Back to Earth - For Now
This week, Iām back on the olā planet Earth! Yes, the one that used to be my home before the cosmos beckoned. But as my grandmothers (both avid dancers, obviously) used to say, "There's no place like home," and, "It's good to get your feet back on solid ground occasionally, darling." Of course, my spaceship is still here - just parked outside my mumās in Derby. It doesnāt quite fit in her drive - they canāt get their neighbours to help to move their cars at the weekend so it is always a bit of a squeeze, even though thereās usually not much traffic at the back of her street in Derbyshire, and it is quite an attraction, drawing visitors from far and wide. That means I need to get on the phone and sort that out today. A call to the neighbours. An email to mum to get all the timings, dates and numbers and make sure the neighbourās can take the day off to ensure my spaceship doesnāt have to sit on its bottom and is properly parked for when it is needed, as I will soon need it again, you see, it's March, and that means it's spring! This can mean only one thing ā ballet season on Earth! Oh, the sheer thrill! The best of all worlds! Dancing amongst the stars, exploring the cosmic wonders and the ultimate celestial ballet! š©°āļø
Iāll admit, being on Earth sometimes makes me realise how much I miss it, even when Iām galavanting around the universe. I have to say though that even with all that space travelling, thereās just something about dancing on the beautiful old stage in Nottingham (yes, youāre not dreaming, Nottingham is home to the magnificent Nottingham Playhouse, one of the greatest theatre institutions in the country.) The smell of the old timber floor boards. The hushed, waiting, silence in the audience before the curtain rises. And then the sheer magic that comes alive the moment the music starts! My heart, like a well-rehearsed pirouette, jumps with anticipation! And letās be honest - Earth ballet does have a special sparkle to it!
This week, Iām on Earth, taking a brief detour from the vastness of space to get back to my roots (well, my tutu roots anyway!). You know, do some old fashioned, good old earth ballet performances - a real ballet extravaganza, you might say, as it involves the ballet stage, which I feel rather lucky to have.
I just realised ā March 31st ā which is just two days after today. Yes, this is actually a real post - you are so very lucky, this is happening this weekend, and you can even buy tickets if you fancy - which Iād really recommend. What am I talking about, you are probably thinking⦠Letās find out moreā¦
Dancing for the Earth and for the Universe šš
Because I do a bit of travelling, I have the most incredible opportunities to meet different creatures, people, whatever you want to call them (although to be honest, a lot of them were the usual - the ācreaturesā were, quite honestly, really very āhuman-likeā, it's quite strange and sometimes very confusing as it really blurs the lines as to whether they were just humanoid ā a very odd combination, which has led me to make the decision that I prefer to stick with "creaturesā, itās the more polite term for an out-of-this-world individual or species. I know this probably comes as a huge shock as they look incredibly human, or maybe I should say "human-like." My favourite one to date is the āEarthianā ā I still canāt quite fathom it as a word, really not the most complimentary, it sounds quite like an unpleasant āEarth-yā term ā āEarthianā ... I wonder what my Mum will make of it ā¦
But, Iāll just use the word āEarthian,ā it just means āEarthese,ā so theyāre really human but from a slightly different planet, from, um, Earth. I think I'm just sticking to calling everyone "Earthians" or just ācreatures."
Anyhow, it seems, when you think about it, there is really very little, indeed, nothing, at all that distinguishes an Earthian from a cosmic entity ⦠except, of course, their pink tutu or the lack of, which they very clearly and undeniably often show off when the ācreaturesā are able to get close enough to view them ⦠or me⦠which they are drawn to⦠but they know thatās off limits - there's just too much drama - I've even taken legal advice - I wonder if this will change any time soon? Maybe with all my legal battles, weāll see if this little trend of "looking at meā when Iām on my own (they arenāt, so Iāll admit that does slightly undermine the "being on my own" - sorry for any misunderstandingsā¦)
Iāve even had my say in the big-time, and a serious lawyer, yes, even I, Emma from Derbyshire, a girl who once wanted to wear her grandma's old ballet shoes but had to wear trainers for school instead as she "wanted to be a real princess", and who would one day dress up in the most outlandish ballet clothes - yes, I, a very serious dancer, with very serious legal advice from an āEarthianā and even my own legal advisor (now she, and her colleagues in a galaxy far far away - quite often just tell me what not to do ⦠or tell me why I should not be on this planet right now⦠not, quite, a stellar recommendation), anyway, my legal adviser said, when I asked how much damage these "Earthesians" would have to pay, (which is the million-dollar question, is it not!), "Look, my love," ( I know, quite unbelievable - they tell you, āmy love, darling" ā these creatures), "well," he said, "this is an open case, and yes, there is a whole department dedicated to intergalactic offencesā¦" He sighed, "Now, we need to be careful, we want to be able to take on the big case, that will change things forever - now is the time to tread very, very, carefullyā¦"
There is such a lot I donāt know about Earthesians (or creatures) - they really, really make me ātick.ā Yes, in Derbyshire it is a word used a lot ā that is where they come from, donāt forget ā where I have my roots. (Yes, I'm back in Derbyshire again ā donāt you think itās time to mention it again?) Yes, so anyway, I, (of Derbyshire), and a very few others know all this, we have our own ācreaturesā secrets (or we thought we did, until my blog blew everything out of the water!). You know when they start asking questions about my tutus and I have to explain it is āfrom spaceā - but then, as an extra hurdle, they are so rude to say, āitās just your dance gear!ā You see - these are āEarthesians.ā I don't know - do I, you tell me - am I right, and how am I going to tell them what they want to know without being asked (not to mention my own space travel itinerary ⦠as I really think we have reached that critical āneed-to-knowā status, right? I believe, as of right now and without a shadow of a doubt, I can state as fact, we have a big-time global pandemic. And then I said (when my mum came into the house while āthe creature,ā a tall āEarthesian" with really, very "Earthesian" eyes, but not unlike the way she used to look with my gran in her arms - it all happened so fast! - which really did upset the ācreature," but it really did āclick" and as I spoke, it made its eyes water - I could just imagine those big tear ducts ⦠my, oh my... a lot of what happens in the world really is a mystery ā so it is still not something to discuss! Oh and when I've really "done my bestā on a Wednesday - I know I always aim to give you my best - and āthe creatureā is about to come up to me and then, it just stares (really staring! and I canāt make it stop!). "Right, so I'll just take the big stage to the left,ā it said, looking straight at me... āI can see that I have just enough energy for a few shows in England. So the show is on this Saturday night at the Playhouse in Nottingham (tickets at www.nottinghamtheatre.com - so make sure you hurry!). I'll let you all know how the whole cosmic intergalactic ācreatures" tour went next Wednesday... see you then!
You're all brilliant! Love from, Emma, Derbyshire (Yes - I still haven't left - although, as you know, I do do some extensive travel - this will be coming in future blog posts)
I hope you are going to be back next Wednesday for Pink Tutu World: #1667 ⦠which will be much more of an international extravaganza for sure... You may even be the very first to know⦠You are going to be in the loop. You will be amazed by all my little tips, all the ācreaturesā - don't forget we know they are watching⦠youāll find they are all there to guide us (or "creature-guide" - see! There is so much to tell you - just wait ⦠next week ā¦) You are in for a treat!
This has been Pink Tutu World: #1666 and you know where you need to come back next Wednesday ⦠Donāt forget ⦠and do leave me your questions! All the very best Love from Emma. (Oh, by the way, I'll be in Derbyshire on the 21st... yes, Derbyshire ... where it all started... maybe ā¦.)
