Hello my darling tutu-tastic friends! It's Emma here, and today is a very special day! It’s Wednesday, which means it's time for another pink-tastic blog post straight from my Planet Earth adventures! (And who’d have thought it - it’s even been 3 years since my last visit to this wonderful world! I can't believe how much time has flown by since I was last here, showing off my amazing pink tutus!).
I've been travelling far and wide since I left Derbyshire (did you know that a little town called Ashbourne is the most well known on planet Earth because of the Royal Shrovetide Football game – just imagine, it’s like the World Cup every year!). But it's been an exciting journey - so much to see and so many delicious treats to sample! You know how much I love my delicious little indulgences, but there is definitely one thing I've learned: never order a space smoothie in a galaxy you've never visited before! Spoiler Alert It can turn out a little *pinker than you might want* ... And speaking of pink, who can resist a lovely new tutu, I am certainly the biggest fan of tutu shopping - even in outer space - though I can assure you, there's nothing quite like Earth when it comes to a good retail therapy fix! There are even shops where they've taken inspiration from that little town called Paris, on Earth (you might even know it - if not - just ask Google – or better still, pay me a visit!), they're always finding exciting new things.
Pink Tutu World Takes On... drum roll… Planet Earth! You may wonder why this little ballerina from a dusty ol' town on Earth could possibly take over a whole planet and everyone’s going to be wearing pink tutus - well my dearest friends - it's simply this, *because I love dancing! *
But seriously, how much would you pay to watch that special ballerina gracefully skip across the galaxy while balancing a stack of pink donuts - on her head! * I might not be quite able to manage that yet - but one day - watch this space (literally!) - my Tutu Universe is expanding and you're all invited to join my fabulous and glittery space-faring dance group - all you have to do is get a pink tutu on, or even a pink dress! It doesn’t matter - you can join my pink-tastic fun. We all love dancing on Earth - well actually, we just do on Earth and Venus – the people on Venus don’t really know how to walk – maybe that’s the reason they have the most *enchanting fashion scene – but you will just have to take my word for it - that's why we’re going to take this little pink world *across the galaxy, one twirl at a time! *
A Little Bit About Planet EarthBut enough about my dreams for a second, and back to Earth, I have had such fun meeting with people and dancers across the planet and I think they're really starting to catch on to the whole pink tutu thing, though there was the time in one small village in Scotland when I went out and showed the villagers how to do a ballet pose - it’s always the ones who wear big furry boots that get excited about it and then, we all end up dancing in the park together, what could possibly go wrong? Anyway, after I showed them some dance moves and they loved it! Then - the most unexpected thing – these nice men decided that I was an incredible ballet instructor – maybe they are right because my dance skills are fabulous (and let’s be honest, you know my amazing tutus were an inspiration) - all they wanted to know was whether they should buy a pink tutu and, as it’s my duty to show everyone the right path, I told them that it is simply mandatory to own a pink tutu if you are going to dance and if you are not going to dance – that’s ok, too – just make sure you have a pink outfit, even a bright pink T-shirt with sparkly sequins will be absolutely fine.
There's definitely something about this planet! As much as I love travelling the galaxy - this place is full of vibrant cities, historical buildings ( I mean - what is with all the castles! I was shocked to learn how old some of these amazing buildings are - like a thousand years ago!). It truly feels like a beautiful stage for endless possibilities and creativity. You know me and I never say no to a new experience, especially a brand new ballet performance!
Fun Fact: Did you know? Planet Earth, it has a famous dancing school in the capital called the Royal Ballet – now you know! Even I felt nervous when I watched their show last time, I think everyone was absolutely captivated. It was almost as if the entire galaxy was holding its breath – waiting – you could hear a pin drop, all in silence. When they all applauded – it sounded like a galactic symphony * (just don’t tell anyone about my own dance performances - I may or may not have gotten *lost in a few light fixtures ). I must get some ballet shoes, so I can go again – it's such a treat for my toes! (Even better if they are sparkling pink obviously – those little light shows never failed to wow me. It is the tiny detail that truly does make the biggest difference).
Today is the 18th August, 2027!You might be wondering what's happening today - and don’t worry - it's very extra special. This week in Earth history, it's celebrating its Earth Day of Dance (that's what I'm going to start calling it from now). But for all you humans – it's also National Dance Day - but that sounds too simple - no - no! Let’s go big and all shout about the Earth Day of Dance!. It's dedicated to everything dance, every single kind of dance, from modern ballet to a street dance in your favourite tutu and that is fantastic! Every human on Earth is dancing, they all join together – and there I am right in the middle, surrounded by some wonderful people. So don't forget to slip into your finest pink attire – grab your loved ones and dance. I have some amazing tutorials to show you – they are going to be uploaded online to our very own “Pink Tutu World”, this way you can learn a new routine while you all go wild - for pink – and for the wonderful art of dancing, and it doesn't have to end there. Maybe it's time to turn this day into something that the entire universe can celebrate! So, spread the word - all the cosmic love to Planet Earth - it's officially Earth Day of Dance! I am making it happen!
*This weekend I’ll be posting my very favourite planet Earth fashion finds! Stay tuned to my Instagram for a sneak peek - I've been absolutely delighted to find so many pretty pink sparkly pieces to add to my collection and a new one for the dance floor. * Oh and a little secret for all you lovely earth people – did you know the word “pink” originated on your world in the 17th century. But when I think about it – maybe they didn’t call it pink - because it was the very first colour to come to their mind.
How do you make space travel with your Tutu Dreams?I've gotten a lot of messages about how I’m able to get from planet to planet in a sparkly pink spaceship (well of course I get around on one!). I can only afford this space travelling by selling all my pretty dresses (after a fashion shoot) and performing in theaters and on the streets. The other special secret that allows me to travel is my super cute dancing bunny - who also enjoys being the pink bunny of our Pink Tutu world! I call him ‘Mr Bun’. Mr Bun does not know where I am going when he pops into my magical pink-tastic Tutu space pod - and he's never even given me an itinerary before a trip (that must be his bunny way!). He does a special jig as he gets ready for the voyage, and then we set off into space with the Tutu Star! We get our own amazing views of planet Earth.
Sometimes it seems like there’s just a whole lot of black, black, black out there in space, except where we can spot other space travelers. When the stars appear it feels magical - like a galaxy show for a magical and glamorous, well, that’s me! Oh - that and my very own planet, in the Tutu system (my own very personal system that my dad helped design). We can even see my own little piece of the Milky Way - that’s quite the site, and when I tell my parents I have my own pink space ship with my personal pink bunny – they say “that’s just a very, very small bit of the entire universe”! Oh, I want to see all of that sparkly galaxy out there – even just a glimpse! I do think that it would look beautiful if it were painted pink but maybe one step at a time!
Oh well, I better go and pick out my next pink outfit because the day doesn't end there. Tonight I’ll be performing with the street dance group in Leicester! A pink tutu with a fabulous feathered skirt just happens to be in the box for tonight's fashion-tastic show. Now this is Planet Earth living! *Keep smiling my tutu-tastic friends because we have lots more of fun to do. * Until next time my lovely humans **
With so much pink-tastic love, Emma
