Hello my darling tutus! It's Wednesday again, and you know what that means... another fabulous Pink Tutu World blog post!
I'm so excited to be back on Planet Earth! After a whirlwind tour of the Andromeda Galaxy, I just had to return to my favourite planet for some real world, old-fashioned ballet fun.
This week, I'm totally focusing on my passion - the Earthly Ballet. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love all the alien ballet styles I've seen out there (they can get super creative, let me tell you!), but Earth's classical ballet holds a special place in my heart.
It's where I first fell in love with the dance - growing up in a little village in Derbyshire, England, I would sneak into the local theatre every time the ballet came to town. The swirling tutus, the grand jumps, the exquisite costumes - I was mesmerised!
So, let's delve into my earthly adventures. This week's itinerary is jam-packed! It's a little "ballet-tastic", as they say...
A Pink Tutu Dream
This Wednesday, 2028-04-05, is my absolute dream date on Planet Earth! Why? It's the opening night of the new Swan Lake production at the Royal Opera House! I'm totally heading there in my brightest, pinkest, most fabulous tutu ever! I'll be making a grand entrance, that's for sure!
It's a huge treat to be at this world-renowned theatre! And it's the perfect opportunity for some stellar photos and a fabulous social media storm! Follow my story on my Instagram, you lovely lot, @EmmaPinkTutuWorld - I'll be uploading everything - including what's happening backstage (watch out for a few famous faces!)
But it's not all about glamorous theatre productions - I also believe that ballet is for everyone. I am totally obsessed with seeing how the ballet is moving beyond the traditional stages - like street ballet. This Friday, I'm heading to a ballet event right here in London - an outdoor, street performance of Giselle - what could be more fun than that! Plus, a performance in such a surprising setting - who needs a stuffy old theatre?
A Tutu Shopping Spree
My time on Earth always includes a bit of retail therapy, don't you know! You've heard my philosophy on dressing - pink is the only way! (Obviously! And if you disagree... shocking! π± I love this Planet because it's truly the pinkest of all planets... not as sparkly as Venus, maybe, but it definitely gets the award for vibrant, feminine fun! π) But, seriously, my pink obsession is about so much more than colour...
The History of Tutus
My beloved tutus have such a wonderful history... they tell us so much about fashion, culture and dance. I find tutus are fascinating. For a ballet girl, they are truly iconic!
There are so many varieties and they've come so far in their "fashion history"! Did you know, tutus began with ballrooms! I find this truly shocking. Did you imagine? A ballerina getting her start from a dance at a fancy ballroom? Imagine that... I find it absolutely divine! π©°π
And then the Romantic Era. It's so extra, in the best possible way! Romantic era tutus, they were so big and so dreamy... They had that extra flair, the kind of drama you expect on a big ballet stage! (Plus, think how fun they would have been for the photo opportunities... π€© Those tulle trails, it was all about the flow.)
But then, there came a change. The tutu evolved. Ballet became about line and structure, you know what I mean? Think about those tights ... Such a change. Ballet became slimmer. A new, refined elegance was born - with emphasis on the feet (because they are just gorgeous! It is a perfect piece of the body for a ballerina's art). It really does highlight the beauty of ballet. A new age of dance was emerging, and the tutu went with it, growing simpler yet still holding its place as the heart of ballet style.
These changes, it was such an important evolution. Tutuless, I say shocking... What is ballet without its iconic tutu??? Impossible! Imagine if ballerinas all over the planet had to choose between street wear and their classic attire. π± Oh my darling tutus! Can you imagine how much chaos this would bring?! (Perhaps some people could make it work, if it was super street styled, but let's just say the fashion world would need some major changes.) π
Of course, the tutus continue to evolve - you know, just like fashion does. That's one thing that makes fashion so fascinating (even if you hate shopping, you just have to agree that itβs amazing to witness how fashion changes).
The modern tutu still holds onto those traditions. That iconic ballet shape - a symbol of a woman's graceful body in all its beauty, grace, and *strength.
As we continue to travel the cosmos, itβs fun to look back at where it all started - those tutus. We can never lose that sense of elegance, that historical significance - it truly is a love letter to dance. And when it comes to dance and tutuland, it's pink all the way! π
How I Fund My Travel Adventures
Now, you might be thinking: "Emma, how can you afford to go to all these glamorous locations? It sounds incredible!" And it is absolutely fabulous! I just love what I do. Iβm really fortunate, and thatβs why I work so hard to make my dreams happen.
When I'm on Planet Earth, I perform... I take a break from exploring new planets to focus on what I truly love: performing ballet. I travel from stage to stage, all over the world, performing with incredible companies. I perform to raise funds and get support for Pink Tutu World, because, darling, the pink-tutu world must be explored! (After all, there are still so many planets waiting to be turned pink. π€©)
This is a tough world, but I love to encourage everyone to find what they love (like, what we are doing right now! π)
Thereβs nothing quite as rewarding as knowing that I can make a difference in this universe by simply being myself - wearing a tutu, inspiring people, and sharing ballet with all who are willing to dance alongside me. β¨
The Ultimate Dream
To conclude (this blog is so long - sorry, I got a bit chatty), my mission is simple: I want to see everyone wearing a pink tutu. Isnβt that just the greatest ambition ever? Pink, it's so stylish - and for me, it is an emotional expression (I'm all about feeling emotions!), it sparks joy, it's joyous in itself, it's a reminder of the light and bright that is in our hearts. π And it's truly a sign of a love for life. Just think about the amazing impact that would make, if every planet in the universe was decked out in pink tutus and everyone could be joined in harmony! Could you imagine the peace it would create? Wouldnβt that be just the best?!? ππ
And what could be better than ballet? It's pure joy! You just have to dance! Go on, grab your pink tutu (or any tutu for that matter!), put on some music and go for it! I dare you to move, twirl and have a blast.
Until next Wednesday, stay sparkly my lovelies. Don't forget to follow me @EmmaPinkTutuWorld on Instagram, because Iβll be sharing all the ballet, fashion, and tutu fun that Planet Earth has to offer over the next few weeks!
Keep twirling, and remember - * *every day is a perfect day for a tutu*!
All my love,
Emma
