Pink Tutu World: Blog Post #1734 - Ballet on Planet Earth, 19th July 2028!

Hello my lovely tutu-tastic readers! It's Emma here, bringing you another whirlwind of a week from my intergalactic travels. As you know, I’m obsessed with all things pink, and my mission is to share that joy with the universe - one pink tutu at a time! This week I'm back on Planet Earth, after a whirlwind tour of the Andromeda Galaxy, but trust me, the adventures never stop.

So, this week’s post is all about my fabulous time back home, specifically my visit to Derbyshire. It’s been a whirlwind of shopping, shows, and… well, tutus, naturally!

Derbyshire, Derbyshire, what can I say?! I always love going home. The air is just so different - so much cleaner and fresher, and I just miss the little touches of English eccentricity, the rolling green hills, and of course the famous Peak District!

As I’m sure you know, Derbyshire is the county I was born in, and while it’s not particularly known for its international dance scene, I had to make a pilgrimage. There's nothing like exploring your roots!

A History Lesson for my Tutu-Tastic Fans

After a few hours getting my fix of home-cooked meals and catching up with family, it was time to hit the museums! I was lucky enough to catch the end of the 'Costume through Time' exhibition at the Peak District Mining Museum, and you guys will never believe this! Turns out, my favourite fashion item (tutus) actually has its roots right here on Earth! I learnt how they evolved from medieval times to today’s graceful forms – all with a story of fashion and movement woven in! You’ll be seeing the really fabulous, early versions of the tutu on the pink-tutu.com website shortly.

But let’s talk about dance!

A Night at the Ballet

This time around, it wasn't just any ballet; it was the Derbyshire Theatre Company’s ‘Sleeping Beauty’, held in their beautiful historic building - and wow! It was just… dreamy. Everything about the production screamed romanticism – from the gorgeous sets, filled with delicate flowers and lush greenery, to the exquisite costumes. As for the dancers – you’d swear they had wings!

Fashion, Glamour and Twirling!

Of course, no visit to Derbyshire would be complete without some serious shopping! Let's just say my spaceship is now a mobile pink tutu showroom. I even managed to pick up some beautiful vintage pink lace, which I'm already planning on using for my next tutu design. I mean, everything inspires my tutu creations - you wouldn't believe the unique tutus I have designed after seeing some of the more unusual pieces of architecture I’ve seen in the universe, but I'll tell you more about that next week.

And speaking of next week, I’m heading to Mars for a dance workshop, so be sure to follow my Instagram story for all the galactic gossip, and, of course, an inside glimpse of my Martian tutus! Until then, keep on twirling, you beautiful creatures, and don't forget to live life in pink!

Love and sparkles,

Emma xx

P.S. You can join my weekly “Live Chat” for this blog at 9pm GMT, every Wednesday, at www.pink-tutu.com to talk tutus and all things pink!

P.P.S If you are reading this from Mars, I would absolutely love it if you sent me a picture of yourself wearing pink in your very own Martian environment! It's important to make your planet pink! 😉
