Hello darlings!
It's Wednesday again and time for my weekly blog post, straight from Planet Earth. Can you believe we're already in August? It feels like summer just began! And what better way to celebrate the season than with an adventure that took me straight to the stars!
Oh my dears, I've got a fabulous story to tell you. I recently embarked on another interstellar journey. And I tell you what, you're never too old for a spot of space exploration - I'm a grown woman, but let me tell you, being able to travel around the universe, well it's like living a childhood dream, a fairytale of infinite possibilities.
I mean, what girl doesn't dream of zipping around space in a pink sparkly spaceship, adorned with twirling ribbon-like streams of tulle and landing on an unknown planet, its atmosphere shimmered in dazzling neon colours, like the biggest most spectacular disco party ever created? And all you need to do is take a magical leap off your ship and into the sparkling wonderland...
Well, that was a little bit what my last journey was like. I'll have to write a post about that planet another time, maybe with photos – it was absolutely fantastic.
Anyway, you see this fabulous new pink tulle jumpsuit I’m sporting? (My apologies to those who may not be following me on the socials.) Well, let me tell you, that wouldn't exist had I not made my way over to the Planet of Haute Couture. Oh my gosh, the garments that are designed on this planet are breathtaking. It's basically all pink sequins, feathery fluff, and elaborate embellishment. All completely edible, no less! (I'm trying to adopt some of these design principles, it really makes a good change from eating my weight in strawberries.)
I must have taken pictures of myself in at least a dozen of their show-stopping gowns and designs. My social media feeds are going to be bursting with glamorous snaps of this fantastic trip.
Honestly, there are no words. If you haven’t yet added this celestial address to your intergalactic bucket list, you need to put this at the top. I tell you, Planet of Haute Couture is well worth a trip for all you stylish ladies (and gentlemen!).
Ballet on Planet Earth!
Of course, after an intergalactic trip of such incredible scale, I felt like nothing else mattered but getting back home to planet earth and into my favorite dance shoes! So much for the 'sophisticated and classy' intergalactic explorer, this pink-loving girl loves her ballet, my darlings, nothing can stop me!
I did a fantastic ballet performance a few weeks back on the other side of the Earth. They actually let me bring my spaceship. Can you imagine, darling?
But, back to my travels… I actually found myself heading back down to Earth after Planet of Haute Couture, it was on my way back, I'll be honest. It's like, we landed on the same celestial path.
An Intergalactic Dream - And Reality
To cut a long story short - the 'pink and tulle-icious' look came about from my new fascination with this planet that basically oozes pinkness, I know, who would've thought! Anyway, they're kind of big on ballet and a pink, fluffy, glittery version of me just wouldn’t do! It would've been the only place to visit (and shop) of course. And yes, my friends, there is a shop, an actual emporium on that planet called the Tutu Emporium, that has tutus of all imaginable colors, shapes and sizes! They even had pink tutus that matched the hue of my spaceship – a pale, shimmery, magical pink that I actually hadn’t seen on Earth. The place was heavenly!
Now I know some of you are rolling your eyes, "Emma, what about the new costumes, did you bring them back to earth?"
Let me assure you my lovely earth friends, that’s not possible… this shop doesn’t actually sell the outfits, they design the clothes with some sort of special fairy dust that literally makes them 'magic'. You cannot bring these items home!
Oh, it is the law on this planet. No ifs, no buts! Apparently it would have caused a bit of a universal upset and could be detrimental to the harmony of the galaxies. But it was a fantastic shopping experience all the same.
(A Bit More About The Outfit )
Anyway, I had a moment of inspiration, a fashion epiphany! This was the outfit I needed for the next Ballet performance, not the one I'd previously imagined in my spaceship, no! Not now! The Planet of Haute Couture gave me all the inspiration for an outfit, a ballet jumpsuit. I can see all the seasoned ballets stars wearing these in the future, let me tell you, and of course, a few weeks ago it came to life!
I knew just the dressmaker, and the results were simply magnificent. You see, they have a strict rule about only wearing white on the planet. Ahem, but let’s be honest - we've all seen white ballet garments. Now there's no doubt they can be absolutely beautiful, I really love a classic ballerina silhouette. It is just the color does kind of put my 'pink' out! So, let’s just say, that would’ve had to change! We put some color in, took the traditional form, added a hint of bling, and here it is, the finished article – the outfit I am so pleased with, that’s already sold out.
You’ll also see the little bow I am sporting! It actually is from the Tutu Emporium – they are not under the same rule as the clothes designers, and it seems my love for the shop may have swayed their ruling and I am able to use one small piece. And can we agree this little touch is absolutely beautiful! (I may have worn it back on Earth for an entire week. Oh dear!)
Let's chat for a second about this trip and the way the fashion industry on Planet of Haute Couture runs... well... It's an incredibly strong ethos, you have to give it that, but basically you can't design, they do. But on the planet they design them there, and there you are free to wear them in their many spectacular restaurants, gardens and gardens, that, to this day, remain a mystery.
I can tell you this. One of my favorite locations was a shimmering lake at dusk, the sunset cast reflections of a magical rainbow into the rippling surface of the lake… The water felt just like shimmering diamonds, which really added to the magic, oh, and did I tell you I managed to squeeze in a waltz. Now there’s a real life ballet performance you could brag about, especially when you find yourself at home with some fellow dance lovers looking over pictures on a planet earth social media page.
If anyone tells you 'Planet of Haute Couture' is too boring for an explorer like myself (or you), I will politely disagree.
