Pink Tutu World: Ballet on Planet Earth – Post 1746

Helloooo my lovelies! It's Emma here, your resident pink tutu wearing space traveller and purveyor of all things frilly, fabulous and, of course, balletic! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another post on the wonderful, pink-tastic www.pink-tutu.com. I can't believe how much has been going on this week! Seriously, it's been a total whirl – and I wouldn't have it any other way!

So, this week I found myself back on ol' Earth – yes, Planet Earth, the one with all the trees and things – and trust me, I had the best time! And wouldn't you know it, it was also the date of the legendary "Ballet on Planet Earth" show at the glorious Royal Opera House in London!

Now, anyone who knows me knows I'm a big fan of ballet. Seriously, I'm practically a ballerina myself! (Even if I'm not technically in the Royal Ballet, ahem.) So you can only imagine how excited I was for this! You know, all those fabulous tutus, the leaps, the graceful movements, the costumes... pure perfection!

This time, the performance featured a brand new ballet, called "Interstellar Dreams". It was like a little peek into the life of a cosmic ballerina, travelling across the galaxy. You just knew there had to be a bit of a pink tutu involved, right? Of course there was! Imagine a cloud of swirling tulle in the deepest darkest void of space – and it's pink. It just oozes glamour, right?

The dancers, they were simply phenomenal! They pirouetted, they leaped, they pliéd with the grace and elegance of... well, let's face it, they were bloody amazing. The music? An exquisite mix of modern and classical, perfectly capturing the otherworldly beauty of the ballet. Honestly, my heart was swelling with so much joy I could have burst!

After the show, I went to meet some friends in Covent Garden for a little champagne supper and some gossip. Let's be real, when else are you gonna get to chat with fellow ballet lovers about all the costumes, the moves, and the general magnificence of it all?! It's pure ballet bliss, that's what it is.

Speaking of costumes, can we talk about my outfit?! It was simply stunning. A flowing, lilac satin skirt, cascading around me like the galaxies themselves. And what's a girl without a tutu, right? I had a fluffy pink one with layers and layers of tulle, making me feel like a swirling cloud of pure joy. (Plus, a girl needs her tutus!) The highlight? It was a custom piece, designed with little constellations and shimmering planets, specially made for my trip back to Earth. The finishing touch? A delicate pearl-encrusted tiara that shimmered under the moonlit sky, adding just the right amount of space-age chic.

I think you all know that finding the perfect outfit is key. That’s why I decided to go on a shopping spree for some truly incredible pieces before the ballet, because what’s a visit to Earth without a trip to the shops, right? I must say, my lovely, I can’t resist the call of those pretty clothes. A sparkly pink sequin top, a luxurious, soft pink silk blouse - these were my new purchases! Now I have a lovely mix of space chic and ballet charm for when I’m traveling between worlds.

And speaking of traveling, I had a fantastic experience returning to the intergalactic space station after the ballet! After all, what's a glamorous trip back home without a spaceship? Honestly, nothing beats cruising through space, all sparkling lights and star trails in the window.

As the journey continued, I watched from the panoramic view of my personal spaceship – which has to be seen to be believed. Seriously, I might be the most fashionable interstellar traveler! – the universe stretched out around me, just the way I love it.

And honestly, this brings me back to why I love what I do so much. Exploring the universe, learning new things, wearing all these pink tutus and getting everyone I meet into a tutu - yes, my dream is to make pink tutus a universal fashion staple! I know, I know, it sounds a little crazy but it’s also kind of brilliant, don’t you think? Because who wouldn’t look and feel fabulous in a pink tutu, right?!

So there you have it, my lovely darlings! A day at the ballet, a shopping spree, and a glorious space travel adventure. The week was everything a space traveller could ever wish for, and it certainly won't be my last trip to Earth!

Catch you all next Wednesday for a whole new adventure here on the wonderful www.pink-tutu.com! Don't forget to comment, follow me, and send all your favourite space and ballet adventures to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.!

With all my love, Emma xoxo

P.S. And just as a little bonus for my wonderful readers, I thought I'd tell you all about this lovely bit of tutu history I came across recently: You know that famous story about how the tutu was ‘born' in the late 18th Century when the great Marie Camargo wanted to be able to show off her dancing skills with her leg work? She created what they call a 'tutu romanesque’… a bit less like a puffy meringue than our tutus of today! Well, that’s true but she did have another design later, a much longer ‘tutu’! A style called 'la Fontaine de Jouvence’ was worn in her later life, and is what might have inspired all those dancers of later years to create what we think of as ‘a tutu’ – but on a much more modest length for ballet. Now, isn’t that just utterly amazing, dear readers?
