Hello my darlings! It's Emma here, reporting live from the heart of Planet Earth, Derbyshire to be precise! This Wednesday is extra special as I'm celebrating not only my weekly blog post, but the sheer, unadulterated joy of finally being back on Earth after a whirlwind intergalactic trip. Can you believe it's been six weeks since I last danced these cobbled streets?!
Before I spill the beans on my galactic adventures, let me remind you that today is the 29th November. You know what that means, don't you? Yep! It's International Pink Tutu Day, so go grab that pink tulle delight gathering dust in your wardrobe and wear it loud and proud! You'll be feeling as sparkly and radiant as I feel in my custom-made "Interstellar Twirl" tutu. (Trust me, it has a few hidden surprises - glitter nebulae, anyone?).
But let's dive into my trip, shall we? This time, I travelled to *Beta Aurigae - Planet Elara - a real fashion forward planet, let me tell you. Imagine if the Eiffel Tower was made of candy floss and dripping with sequins - that's what Elara felt like. Oh, and their ballet companies use 24 karat gold in their set designs! Talk about glamorous!
Ballet on Planet Elara
I'm a huge fan of their "Cosmic Waltz" routine, where ballerinas spin across the stage suspended by glowing moonbeams. I saw an enchanting rendition at the Elara Imperial Opera House, complete with floating sets and holograms that made me feel like I'd been transported to a dream. And their use of colours, oh my! Deep indigo and sapphire blue against the brightest fuchsia you can imagine! This planet certainly knows how to put on a show.
Elarian Fashion
The shopping on Planet Elara? I simply had to snap up a pair of shoes - shimmering emerald green ankle boots with a twinkling, crystal heel and, wait for it, built-in cosmic navigation! (Don't even get me started on the bag that turns into a self-heating teapot...but that's another story!). It was impossible to leave Elara without at least a little bit of cosmic-inspired bling.
"Get Everyone in a Pink Tutu" Crusade Update
I even spread the Pink Tutu gospel while I was on Elara. They already have a thing for colour there, so they embraced the "Get Everyone in a Pink Tutu" idea wholeheartedly. Now I'm seeing adorable pink tutu creatures wandering Elara, from their Flerovians (you have to see their outfits – fluffy pastel pink and glitter wings, it's unreal!) to the T'Chulans who love their tulle with a twist of silver fringe.
But it wasn't all sparkly costumes and galaxy-sized champagne cocktails! You see, I have a serious ballet research problem (call it an "obsession" if you want!) and Planet Elara is teeming with intriguing history.
Elara's Dance History
Did you know that Elara's very first ballerinas were not actually dancers? They were mystical creatures called "Shimmering Night Birds" that had magical abilities – they could move at the speed of light and literally dance through the air, all without using gravity. Legend has it, the very first tutu designs were based on their feathered tails! Now, imagine a tutu inspired by these ethereal birds - wouldn't that be incredible?!
The "Shimmering Night Bird" Ballet Performance
So, I've decided I need to choreograph a "Shimmering Night Bird" performance to share my find with you all, so expect updates on my Instagram, Twitter, and the PinkTutuWorld page on our intergalactic social network, TwinkleTube. I'm already envisioning the most stunning custom tutus. It'll involve layers of silk organza, strategically placed pearls, and possibly some very secret shimmering dust. I might even use some real feather accents if I can find some… (It's all still in the planning stage, though, shhhh).
My Pink Tutu Planet Earth Blog
Speaking of planning, let's get back to Planet Earth and what's happening here! On 29th November, you’ll want to catch the Royal Ballet's performance of "Giselle" in London. Giselles have the prettiest tutus - the white ones always give me such romantic feels! Don't forget your pink tutus! We might just have a "flash mob" after the show… (cough Just a suggestion… 😉 )
And don't miss the International Ballet Day celebrations at the National Ballet School! It’s a fantastic way to discover all things ballet and get those creative juices flowing! I'm definitely planning to be there in a sparkling new tutu that’s just arrived from a top designer on Planet Elara - can't wait to reveal it to you all. (Maybe even live on Twitch! )
I'm always hunting down unique tutu shops all across Planet Earth, you know. This week, I’ve had my eyes on La Danse on London's Carnaby Street . They’ve got some seriously impressive creations with metallic gold fabrics, layered feathers, and even tiny iridescent shells that catch the light perfectly! Now those are tutus fit for an intergalactic princess.
Pink Tutu Fashion Inspiration
For my next trip, I'm off to explore the planets of Vulcan and Kepler-452b , where they’ve got their own unique fashion trends. Imagine my surprise when I found out they’ve got a craze for “space-inspired” tutu looks. It’s not all about sparkly planets though; there’s a serious element of utility involved as well! You won't find any "boring" tutus here. Think of reflective materials, tutus designed for zero-gravity dancing, and maybe even some solar-powered LED embellishments. I can’t wait to see how my style can translate across the galaxies!
And hey, maybe you have a new tutu style that'll change the galactic landscape, too! You know the drill - hit me up with a comment on the PinkTutuWorld website - www.pink-tutu.com! And of course, you know you can follow my adventures and find a new dose of ballet fashion inspiration on all the social platforms too, especially on Instagram! You're also welcome to share your Pink Tutu style inspiration in your own Instagram photos with the hashtag #PinkTutuWorld! I always check those out – I love seeing all your amazing pink tulle creations.
You know I have to say: being a Pink Tutu World blogger and an intergalactic traveller is the most incredible thing. And remember, as always, my biggest dream? Getting every single planet out there twirling in a Pink Tutu!
Sending you all galactic love and a whole lot of sparkles,
Emma 💋
