Pink Tutu World: Ballet on Planet Earth - Post #1793

Hello darlings! Welcome back to my little corner of the internet, where the only rule is that pink tutus are compulsory! 💖🩰

It's Wednesday, which means it's time for a brand new blog post from yours truly, Emma, your tutu-clad travel companion from planet Earth! Today, I'm practically bouncing with excitement, because we're diving deep into the magical world of ballet...and by "we", I mean you and me, my lovely readers!

Today, we're venturing right into the heart of the Earthly ballet scene, because on September 5th, 2029, there's a huge ballet spectacular happening! It's called "Ballet on Planet Earth" and it's going to be a cosmic event unlike anything you've ever seen before. Just imagine, an entire night dedicated to all things dance, with performers from every corner of our planet, showcasing the grace, the beauty, and the sheer magic that makes ballet such a truly wonderful art form. 💖🩰

Now, I know what you're thinking - ballet? On planet Earth? You've already seen it all, right? Wrong! 😉 Ballet on Planet Earth is a whole new experience! This isn't just about a bunch of prima ballerinas swirling around on stage; it's about pushing boundaries, smashing stereotypes, and showcasing the raw power of expression and emotion. Imagine choreographies inspired by nature, by space, by human interaction - all interwoven into one captivating spectacle. Now THAT'S ballet at its finest!

"But Emma, why Earth?" I hear you ask. Well, let me tell you, this planet has some pretty incredible things going on in the world of ballet! And it all started right here, back in the Renaissance, with all those dashing nobles and their graceful, extravagant dances. Ballet literally began here! I could write a whole blog post just about tutu history, but let's save that for another day...

What makes Earth's ballet so special is the heart and soul poured into it. I mean, there's a reason why people have been travelling from far and wide for centuries to witness the grandeur of Covent Garden Opera House, the regal elegance of the Royal Opera House, and the captivating beauty of Sadler's Wells Theatre! It's all about the sheer passion that goes into it, and that's what draws dancers and audiences alike. And who better to demonstrate this passion than our fellow Earthlings!

So, imagine me, Emma, twirling my way through a dazzling ballet extravaganza in the heart of London, surrounded by all sorts of dazzling dancers and their graceful moves! I mean, just imagine: pink tutu perfection with the most spectacular show on planet Earth! It’s all going to be amazing and I’m so excited for you all to join me there in my heart (and probably in my next blog post!).

You'll have to forgive me for being a bit… well… excited! But with all that’s been going on lately with the travelling, shopping, and ballet, well, it's certainly enough to send any fashion-forward ballerina over the moon, and into a little whirl! But enough about me, let’s talk about you!

Tell me, what is your favourite ballet piece? Are you planning on attending "Ballet on Planet Earth" in September? Do you have a favourite ballerina you follow?

As always, don't forget to check out my social media channels and be sure to tag #PinkTutuWorld on all your ballet-related posts, especially those pink tutus.

Until next time, darlings, keep shining bright and don't forget, there's a pink tutu out there for everyone. 💖🩰

Love,

But WAIT, There's more!

It’s a ballet blogger’s duty to also mention the things I find most fascinating about ballet and tutus. Did you know there was an entire history to the little tutu, my darling fashion friend? The very first tutu (from what we can gather in history) was a more complicated demi-tutu, originally called a ‘jupe courte’, meaning short skirt. This is what ballerinas used in the 1700s. Now, what makes the tutu so incredibly important in dance?

Well, here’s the history we all need to know. Ballerinas, who danced for a living, were often dancers in wealthy households who needed to showcase themselves for special occasions. With the ‘jupe courte’, this was the way! This garment let women (ballerinas) who would otherwise not be able to express themselves move freely, especially to be able to move through these extravagant sets. It’s believed that ballet came about from ‘masked balls’ with aristocratic dancers who had nothing else to do! You can see why the jupe courte, or demi-tutu played a critical part. Then the tutu evolved! The 1900s saw the tutu being used in several classical ballets that still resonate with dancers today, including ‘Swan Lake’, ‘Sleeping Beauty’, and ‘Giselle’.

But we love tutus for their elegant lines and fashion prowess too. Just think how much of a transformation you’d experience after slipping into your tutu and twirling in front of the mirror. This really is what we want to do at the #PinkTutuWorld office - we like to remind everyone of their tutu, or maybe this should be my new slogan:

‘Everyone deserves to wear a Tutu.’

I have a lot to say about that, don’t you think? I’m going to keep a journal of the ‘tutu’s’, I’m sure I can write something fascinating from them, especially if I write a little every day. And what would be best is a post on the ‘pink tutu’, as I am obsessed, of course. There are several iconic tutu looks too - and I’m definitely not going to leave that for another blog post! We have the most incredible ‘tutued’ ballerina's we must see as a whole, just so that we are always up to speed! Ballet's so much fun, don’t you think? 💖

Well, back to me and the fashion and the pink tutus... This week was a whirlwind.

On Monday, I landed in the fashion capital, Paris, because, darling, no trip is complete without a visit to the most elegant and luxurious city on the planet! Paris was just the most gorgeous place to be, and that trip really filled me up on my own ideas. In terms of my wardrobe - Paris’ streets were truly inspiring, with shops I can’t even describe, they were truly divine, every street a fashion fairytale! It felt amazing. So much glamour. It’s the Parisian ‘tutu’ we all love - the classic chic look - with such elegance.

I went into a lovely vintage boutique in Paris. It was a wonderful moment to remember those vintage ballet dresses with the big puff sleeves. You have to be incredibly brave to carry off that kind of attire but when you find that vintage gown with the beautiful ‘pouf’, it's like walking down a street of a dream! I felt like a little Audrey Hepburn as I left, as well as one happy dancer, but, unfortunately, that gown didn’t quite work for my trip today.

Tuesday, the excitement for London just felt incredible! I took a walk down the most well-known streets of the British capital. You just must visit all the vintage boutiques for a chance to find a very chic look. Every turn was a stylish, sophisticated experience, with shops brimming with Parisian style. As you've probably guessed, I went a little tutu wild and managed to pick up a pair of absolutely fabulous shoes with huge buckles on them. They were so comfy and classy. If it wasn’t a mistake of fate, I’d still be in that boutique until tomorrow. I was having too much fun. London - it truly feels like home to me in so many ways, but we've not even reached my big week yet! This year, though, we must mention all of our ‘tutu’ friends... they’re our community, after all! 💖

Oh, my darling, I know what you are all thinking and I am ready for it.

It’s the tutu's that matter. It is not an accident that our website has been titled pinktutu.com, it’s almost impossible to imagine what we’re writing here about without the gorgeousness that is our beloved tutu. 💖 What else is there? I can barely contain myself. I can’t let this beautiful week pass without saying how tutu magical this ballet experience is going to be. This is going to be the most incredible performance in the universe. The dancing on Earth is unlike any dancing we've ever witnessed in space. Let’s not forget the beautiful stage makeup as well! This can often complement your wardrobe, and compliment your performance, so it makes a big difference! In some cases, your hair as well! Don’t you think? It’s always been the ballerina’s *total ensemble...and now it’s all my fault, or all *our fault because you are so beautiful and full of sparkle.

There's one person you should really keep an eye out for, I hear. Apparently, he's like the top make-up artist for a lot of earthly dancers! You should probably look him up on social media. But for now, let's focus on all the good times we have coming up - it's about to get tutu good, darling! The entire ballet world’s excitement is building too and this week, the world is all about the dancing. This week, we will be talking ballet. And how amazing the ballet is going to be when I am going to have a good chat with my fashion muse for next week! Just imagine a special visit and a blog with someone from the world of real ballerinas. The real professionals in dance. How thrilling for us all? You are the ballet queens of your universe, darling! That’s exactly what you’re looking for when it comes to ‘tutues’ right? Just like that! It makes my tutu jump with joy! Oh, there are just so many beautiful ‘tutues’ in the world - we have to do an amazing feature in my next blog post. I just can’t let the idea slip my mind...

And as you're thinking about all things tutu-licious, make sure you don't forget your #PinkTutuWorld selfie! Because everyone deserves a little bit of sparkle in their lives - especially when you can look and feel incredible while wearing it! You don’t even have to twirl for a real performance. Your own world can be a ballet with all the gorgeous sparkles and all the tutus - what better reason to do just that? Dance, darling, Dance! And share it with me. My website’s not all about me!

Right, that’s it for today - until next Wednesday, when we talk more ‘tutu’ in a different outfit, of course. For now, happy dancing! 💕
