Hello my lovely readers, and welcome to another Friday instalment of the Pink Tutu Blog! This week I'm bubbling over with excitement because, you guessed it, I'm in London!
This beautiful city never fails to amaze me. Every cobbled street, every grand building, every charming little cafe...it’s like stepping into a fairytale, and I just can’t get enough! This time, though, it's even more special, because I'm here for the entire weekend!
A Train Ride to the Capital
So how did I get here, you ask? Why, by train, of course! I love nothing more than snuggling up in my comfy carriage seat, watching the world rush by as I journey towards London. This morning I left Derbyshire, leaving behind the green fields and charming countryside, and arrived in London King’s Cross a mere 2 hours later! Talk about efficiency!
A Day of Ballet and More!
Today is all about the ballet! You all know I can’t resist a chance to see a show, and this weekend I'm here to see 'The Nutcracker' by the Royal Ballet. But before I head to the theatre this evening, it’s all about exploring the vibrant city.
Shopping Spree in Soho
First stop? Soho, of course! How can anyone resist this iconic shopping district? Today, I’m wearing a delicate pink tutu that twirls perfectly as I navigate the crowded streets, and my top is a beautiful lavender silk blouse, paired with sparkly pink shoes! It's important to dress for the occasion, after all!
You can imagine my delight when I stumbled upon a little shop tucked away in a quiet corner - a treasure trove of vintage hats, beautiful handmade gloves, and the most amazing jewellery I’ve ever seen! Of course, I simply couldn’t resist buying myself a few little treasures! After all, every ballerina needs a fantastic hat to complete her look, right?
Afternoon Tea Fit for a Princess
Next on the agenda, a much-needed cup of tea! No visit to London is complete without a quintessential afternoon tea experience. I found a lovely little tearoom with beautiful china and, oh my, the cakes were incredible! My heart melted as I sunk my teeth into a delicious pink iced cupcake topped with edible pearls. Absolutely heavenly!
Pink Perfection at Harrods
To round off my day, I ventured into Harrods! This department store is nothing short of magical. Imagine vast hallways filled with glittering diamonds, luxurious perfumes, and everything in every colour imaginable! And naturally, there's an entire floor devoted to all things pink! It was simply overwhelming!
My heart soared when I discovered a stunning display of pink tutus. Rows upon rows of fluffy tulle, each a masterpiece of delicate design, shimmering like a fairy's dream. I practically jumped for joy! After all, this is the ultimate expression of pink and ballerina-ness, isn’t it? Of course, I couldn’t leave without at least one, so I bought a magnificent blush pink tutu, perfect for my upcoming performances!
Ready for The Nutcracker!
After all this exploring, it’s time to head back to my hotel to freshen up, and get ready for the main event! The Royal Ballet is performing 'The Nutcracker' tonight, and I am absolutely buzzing! Can’t you just imagine me twirling to the beautiful music of Tchaikovsky in my stunning new tutu?! It’s a dream come true!
