Ciao bella!
It's Wednesday morning and I'm already sipping on a steaming cup of cappuccino in my hotel room overlooking the Duomo. I can hear the rumble of trams chugging their way down the street, a sound that never fails to put a smile on my face. The aroma of fresh bread from the bakery downstairs is adding to the lovely ambience. Milan is already buzzing with life and the shops are beckoning.
Today is going to be a whirlwind of tutu-licious fun, so let me tell you all about it...
My Pink Tutu Itinerary
First on my agenda is a spot of ballet class at the Scuola di Ballo. I'm excited to see if I can fit in a session with my darling Giuseppe, the maestro himself. Giuseppe is not only an incredible teacher, but also a fabulously charming Milanese man. He's always encouraging and manages to inspire even the clumsiest of dancers to feel like graceful swans. (It's all about confidence, darlings, don't you know!)
Then, it's time to embrace the Pink Tutu lifestyle in the heart of Milano. I've got my sights set on Via della Spiga, the iconic fashion street. There are so many stunning boutiques and designers that my inner fashionista is going completely mad! My quest for a perfectly pink tulle dress awaits - this week's ballet performance will need an absolutely gorgeous outfit, something to set hearts fluttering.
Speaking of ballet performances, I've got front row tickets to see The Sleeping Beauty at the Teatro alla Scala, Milan's breathtakingly beautiful opera house. To be honest, I can't wait to see this masterpiece of classical ballet performed in a venue like this - imagine the magic, the spectacle! It's an event that will be remembered for years to come.
From the Derbyshire Moors to the Milanese Glamour
Before I left Derbyshire for Milan, a little birdie told me the latest gossip on Milan Fashion Week. It seems everyone in the world is going to be here! From top designers and models to fashion journalists and stylists, this city will be overflowing with style, flair and creativity. And who could possibly resist the temptation to catch a glimpse of it all?

Shopping for Inspiration
Now, let's talk about my favourite part of this trip, shall we? Today I'm setting out to explore Milan's famous fashion boutiques and discover what's on offer for the coming season. The city itself feels like a gorgeous stage for a magnificent ballet of creativity and innovation.
I can already feel my imagination taking flight as I dream about creating new tutu designs inspired by the elegance and style of the city's best designers. Perhaps a bold tutu with intricately placed geometric prints or a delicate and flowing creation with pastel colours and hand-beaded details. The possibilities are endless, darlings!
Of course, no shopping trip in Milan is complete without a visit to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II , the gorgeous glass arched shopping gallery filled with designer stores and luxury brands. It's simply breathtaking, don't you think?
Lunch Break with a Twist
After a whirlwind shopping spree, it's time for a quick bite to eat. I'm opting for a traditional Milanese lunch at one of the many charming trattorias scattered around the city. Nothing beats the delicious flavours of freshly made pasta, hearty stews and deliciously creamy risotto. (And don't even get me started on the fabulous gelato, it's simply to die for!)
The Sleeping Beauty Awaken!
Now for the grand finale, darlings - The Sleeping Beauty at the Teatro alla Scala. I can already feel the magic of the theatre beckoning me.
Let's face it, there is something extraordinarily special about watching a ballet in a building with such imposing history and architectural brilliance. Just imagine the golden gilded interior sparkling under the soft glow of the stage lights. It will be a truly breathtaking sight. And the costumes? Well, I have a feeling they'll be magnificent!
I'm sure I'll be moved to tears, both by the beauty of the performance and by the sheer privilege of experiencing this magic in a city so full of life and art.
Travel and The Pink Tutu Project
