Ciao Bella! It’s Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Milan adventure! I’m Emma, a little ballerina from Derbyshire with a big dream: to spread the joy of tutus all around the globe, one twirl at a time! This week I'm shimmying and swaying through the streets of Milan, and I’m absolutely smitten with this dazzling city!
Oh, my dears, Milan is a veritable symphony of style and beauty! Just strolling along Via Montenapoleone feels like you're gliding through a scene from La Bayadere – all intricate shop windows with their dazzling displays and chic shoppers elegantly stepping along.
And guess what, darlings? Today, 2026-02-04, Milan is brimming with so many captivating cultural delights! I started the day with a hearty cappuccino at a charming café tucked away near the Teatro alla Scala, the most renowned opera house in the whole of Italy! Honestly, you can practically feel the whispers of opera history in the air! I later popped into the Gallerie d’Italia, where I was mesmerised by breathtaking artwork, feeling a surge of creative inspiration that's still buzzing through me! The galleries are absolutely delightful, like stepping into a beautiful fairy tale!
I spent the afternoon savouring the captivating beauty of Milan's famous Duomo! Standing beneath its majestic spires, the whole world seemed to pause for a moment – it was a truly awe-inspiring experience. Later, I felt a magical pull towards the Pinacoteca di Brera, where I wandered amongst masterfully crafted paintings that sent shivers down my spine.
Now, I’m back at my hotel room, feeling like a true Milanese lady. The windows are wide open, letting in the city’s sparkling lights, and a little tinkling music from a street violinist drifts up to me.
But enough about the stunning sights and the awe-inspiring art! Let’s talk tutus, my lovelies! What would a Pink Tutu Milan adventure be without some tutu fun? Today I found the most fabulous boutique! It was a true vintage dream! Just picture this: silks and satins swirling all around me in shades of lavender, blush, and, of course, my beloved pink! I couldn't resist grabbing a darling little pink tutu that danced around my ankles as if it was calling to be twirled.
Tomorrow, I'm off to explore the charming cobbled streets of Navigli, a hidden gem filled with quaint canals, romantic cafes, and fascinating vintage boutiques. Imagine this, darling: picturesque bridges over flowing canals, the warm light from a nearby pizzeria, the gentle strum of a guitar playing a haunting Italian melody, and yours truly, of course, with my sparkling pink tutu floating about in the gentle breeze! I’m picturing myself stopping at one of the charming boutiques I saw earlier today – the possibilities are endless!
And, as you know, every true pink tutu adventure needs a proper ballet experience, so tonight, I’ll be heading to Teatro alla Scala to watch an incredible ballet performance – something special to give me those extra creative ideas for my blog, and for some inspiration for my own dance routines, of course!
I simply adore watching other dancers twirling, leaping, and bounding across the stage, their movements expressing so many emotions. Every performance feels like a symphony of motion, and it never ceases to amaze me!
Let’s talk about this outfit, darling. The thing about a ballerina is we are always thinking about our next look. For my evening adventure in the grand Milan opera house, I'm going for an absolutely charming Parisian look! Think elegant black lace dress with delicate lace detailing, adorned with a blush pink ribbon in my hair – you know, a perfect mix of romance and refined chic. Oh, and let's not forget the dazzling statement earrings and a cute pink chain bag, a little extra touch of sparkle. The outfit screams “Parisian ballerina”, a total statement piece! I know, my darling, we love the statement, but this is going to be a truly elegant yet comfy look!
You can probably already imagine this next scene: my little pink tutu, hanging up next to the ballet dress, all neatly displayed in the wardrobe, ready for my arrival back at the hotel after my wonderful evening! It’s already time to pack it up in my chic overnight bag (my favourite accessory that always has just enough space for an extra pink tutu!
Let's take a trip on the tram, my lovelies. What’s more glamorous than exploring a city on the back of a sparkling red Milanese tram, gracefully sailing past the glorious scenery of Milan? It’s the most romantic way to see the city. Imagine the feeling: a gentle breeze rustling through my hair, a splash of golden sunlight reflecting off the windows of the tram, and my fabulous pink tutu swishing ever so gently – a charming and vibrant ballet dance within the moving, majestic art gallery that is this city. It's magic! You’ll find me whizzing across Milan, spotting all the little boutiques and street artists hidden away between charming shops!
The streets are humming with energy! I saw street musicians and artists with incredible creations! Imagine – a whole world of artistry displayed within this magical city! It’s impossible not to be inspired! I was also mesmerised by a troupe of acrobats performing incredible flips and tricks! Their athleticism was awe-inspiring! My dream to learn all those skills grows every day! Their skills make me feel so full of ambition!
Oh darling, Milan has been overflowing with wonderful sights and delicious scents. It’s a city where you can find delicious food everywhere you turn! But there’s a magical spot where I like to grab a delightful midday treat: a quaint little pasticceria (patisserie) nestled amidst a sea of vibrant shops! This enchanting place feels like stepping into a storybook, with shelves piled high with sugary delights like miniature cannoli, delicately painted macarons, and delectable biscotti, each one more tempting than the next! My little pink tutu twirls along with delight when I visit this delightful patisserie!
So many times, I’ve walked by it on my journey around the city – that delicate pastry that tempts me and always draws me to it! This patisserie is where I find the ultimate treat: a beautifully crafted slice of creamy Tiramisu. It is the epitome of pure Italian comfort! I am so tempted by all of these delectable delicacies, especially when I hear the Italian whispers around me as I’m eating them! Oh darling, let's be honest, I always need to eat something before I continue on my walk around the beautiful Milan. The magic and romance are just too strong.
Milan has given me a rush of creative energy and has had me swirling in a whirlwind of style and excitement! It’s definitely the most fashionable city I have visited so far.
You know I am such a sucker for vintage shops. This time I've had so much fun discovering vintage shops all across Milan. Some I stumbled upon by accident, others were just around the corner from a place I was trying to find, like hidden little treasures! I feel a bit like I’ve wandered into the set of a classic movie about vintage couture. And oh, how much fun it is to search through the treasures! This week, I found a delightful velvet dress in an earthy shade of blue – a perfect addition to my wardrobe. I couldn't resist adding some statement earrings for a touch of glamour and of course, I have a gorgeous pearl bracelet to adorn my wrist.
I am on a serious pink mission. If there's one thing I want to bring to every city, it's a sprinkle of Pink Tutu magic, and today I just did! A woman with a charming little daughter asked me what the little pink tutu was all about, and I happily shared my dreams. You should have seen her little daughter’s face light up with the sweetest smile! So, I thought to myself – why not do more to bring a little magic to people? And with this decision in mind, I’m giving away some Pink Tutu postcards and little pink tutu stickers at one of my favorite coffee spots in the city, where you can see all the people go by. It's my little contribution to making the world a slightly more pink, twirling place!
