Pink Tutu Milan: Post 1602 - Ciao Bella, Milan!

Wednesday, 18th February 2026

Hello, my lovely tutus! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another fabulous instalment of Pink Tutu Milan! 🩰 This week, I'm buzzing, darling! This beautiful city has truly captured my heart (and my Instagram feed!), and my mission to spread the love for pink tutus is in full swing!

I've been in Milan for just over a week now, and it's been a whirlwind of beautiful architecture, incredible food (the pizza, oh my!), and a surprising number of pink-loving souls who get the Pink Tutu vibe! It truly feels like this city embraces every kind of fabulous, from the dramatic couture shows at Milan Fashion Week to the charming trattorias tucked away in little side streets.

The Power of the Tutu

Remember that mission I talked about? I'm on a quest, you see, to make the world a pinker, twirlier, more joyful place, one tutu at a time! So, every time I venture out, I always wear a different pink tutu, whether I'm wandering the historic cobblestone streets, or soaking up the sun in a charming cafe with a delicious cappucino (it's all about that cute little frothy art on top! 💋).

Just yesterday, I popped into a little vintage store that reminded me so much of a shop I used to love back in Derbyshire - think overflowing racks of amazing hats and quirky clothes, all perfectly curated. The owner, a lovely lady called Isabella, took one look at my bright fuchsia tulle tutu and said, "You look like a princess! You remind me of the ballerinas from the Teatro alla Scala!" Now, anyone who knows me knows that there is no higher praise in the world. I even found a beautiful emerald green bolero that complimented my tutu perfectly, which I couldn't resist buying.

A Dance With the Tram

One of the things I love most about this city is its charming trams. They are so stylish and vintage, and they always take me on a lovely adventure! Last week, I hopped on the 9 tram from the Duomo all the way to the Porta Venezia district. As I glided past grand palazzos and lush gardens, I felt like I was transported back in time. It truly is a fabulous way to travel in this city!

This morning, I embarked on another tram adventure, this time with a destination that was dear to my heart: the Pinacoteca di Brera.

The Art of Expression

The Brera gallery is an absolute treasure trove of artistic delights! It's the perfect place for a bit of cultural immersion, and the paintings on display, from the likes of Caravaggio and Raphael, just make my artistic soul sing! I took inspiration from a beautiful portrait of a Renaissance woman, who wore a flowing gown in vibrant blues and greens, and instantly envisioned a beautiful ballet scene! I saw her as the noble dancer, poised and elegant, and in my mind I was choreographing her performance. It's amazing how art can transport you!

While I was there, I saw some ballet students practicing outside, in a little courtyard behind the gallery, and it really warmed my heart. Even in this amazing city, with so much beauty around you, it seems people still find time for ballet!

Fashion Fusion

But let's be honest, we all know that Milan is the fashion capital of the world! Every corner, every storefront, every catwalk, oozes chic. And me, the little ballet princess from Derbyshire? Well, I like to blend the ballet and the fashion together!

Later this evening, I have tickets to a fashion show. The designs are going to be a modern take on vintage couture, and you bet I'll be rocking a spectacular pink tutu. It's all about mixing old and new, and for me, the key ingredient is that joyful twirling magic! It's just going to be absolutely divine! I might even see a few famous faces. (I'm holding out for a photo with Gigi Hadid, because who doesn't love a fellow pink enthusiast, right?)

Dance, Shop, Explore, Repeat

So there you have it, another whirlwind week in Milan! As always, it’s a joy to share my adventures with you. My little ballet life here is filled with such lovely moments:

  • Wandering through bustling markets, searching for that perfect pink scarf (I found one this morning - and it has the tiniest, cutest sequins!).
  • Sipping on an Aperol Spritz on a terrace overlooking the city's rooftops as the sun sets (a true taste of dolce vita!).
  • Catching up with a couple of amazing friends over pasta and laughter - these are the real moments of magic in travel.
  • Feeling the energy of this city that seems to be full of life and stories waiting to be told.

Ballet's Magic Touch

Of course, my trips wouldn't be the same without my dance lessons. It's an essential part of keeping my body and soul feeling inspired. The instructors at this local studio are amazing; they really push you to reach your full potential, while making you feel utterly supported at the same time. I always find it fascinating how different schools of dance have such different interpretations of movements, styles and music.

There are so many more incredible places in Milan that I can't wait to explore! Next week, I'm setting my sights on the Quadrilatero d’Oro - I hear it’s a shopaholic’s paradise! But before I sign off, remember to keep spreading the Pink Tutu love! I'm dreaming of the day that every girl (and every guy, I believe in a pink tutu for everyone) is twirling around, expressing themselves and having fun with fashion!

Until next week, darling! Ciao bella, Milan!
