Pink Tutu Milan: Ciao Bella! #1653

Buongiorno, my dearest Tutu Twirlers! It’s me, Emma, your Pink Tutu blogger, beaming from sunny Milan! It’s Wednesday the 10th of February, 2027, and I’m brimming with excitement because… well, it’s Milan!

This vibrant city is a true fashion haven and a dream for a ballet enthusiast like myself. Think grand opera houses, captivating street performers, and breathtaking performances by the renowned Teatro alla Scala – it’s all here, and it's almost enough to make me want to ditch my trusty pink tutu in favour of a sleek Milanese chic outfit. Almost, but not quite!

You know me – my pink tutu is my comfort zone, my happy place. I wear it everywhere, from ballet classes to tea parties, from exploring city parks to attending the most glamorous performances. So, here in Milan, I’ll be rocking it, blending pink and tulle with Milanese fashion, and enjoying the best of both worlds!

The Tram, the Train, and the Tutu:

My journey to Milan began with a delightful train ride through the rolling hills of Derbyshire, England. Yes, you read that right! A girl can't be entirely pink tutu all the time, so sometimes I take the ordinary mode of transport. But of course, a tutu always finds a way into the luggage. And I did, just last week, wear it in the buffet carriage on my journey from Derby to London! I have had several offers to perform! What's a ballerina to do with offers coming in for the price of the ticket to a ballet show!? Maybe I should wear the pink tutu to the shows I am travelling to. A nice touch of "home"! Then, I took the comfortable Eurostar, a whizzing speed train to the city. But once in Milan, it was all about trams. Tram journeys are so picturesque – a feast for the eyes. They glide through the city’s cobbled streets, past ancient architecture, designer boutiques, and hidden cafes, offering a perfect glimpse into Milanese life.

I’m staying in a darling little guesthouse just a stone’s throw away from the city centre. The decor is adorable, and there's even a pink fluffy armchair – you know it made me swoon! The friendly owner serves delicious coffee, pastries, and the most delicious chocolate chip cookies! It’s just like stepping into a whimsical fairytale, only this one involves ballet, pastries, and a little bit of magic.

Milan: A Ballet Lover’s Paradise

Today's itinerary? It all starts with a ballet class in the heart of the city. I'm determined to brush up on my pirouettes and arabesques in a beautiful, historic studio. And then, it's off to a whirlwind of fashion!

You all know I’m a sucker for gorgeous garments, and Milan, my dears, is overflowing with beautiful boutiques. I'm on the lookout for new dancewear – anything that sparkles, twirls, and screams "Pink Tutu." It would be a crime to visit Milan and not buy a couple of elegant Italian pieces. I even spotted a boutique that's entirely dedicated to pink tutus – talk about a match made in heaven! My credit card might need a little rest afterward, but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!

Dancing Through Milan: An Evening of Enchantment

Later this evening, I’ll be catching a show at the world-famous Teatro alla Scala. It's renowned for its grand performances, exceptional acoustics, and the captivating energy of its performers. My oh my, it is utterly breathtaking. Tonight’s program features Swan Lake, a ballet that always stirs something deep inside me – an element of enchantment and grace. It’s hard not to feel all the emotions as the dancers glide across the stage in their delicate movements, a story told through pure passion and poise. Oh, but for a stage that size, what a place to twirl in my favourite pink tutu. You know I will try to steal some moments and twirl and let my pink tulle do its thing! But not during the show, obviously.

My Pink Tutu Manifesto

Before I go, I've been pondering over the theme for my next Pink Tutu campaign – and that's about the magic of tutus! I truly believe tutus possess an unspoken power to inspire, to embrace joy, and to celebrate the beauty of movement. This magical feeling – it’s a feeling we can all experience! How? By simply wearing a tutu – no matter your size, shape, or experience level – and letting the twirls transport you to a world of wonder! You don’t have to be a ballerina to wear a tutu. It’s a symbol of self-expression, of confidence, and of embracing life's little (and big) moments with joy.

So, darling readers, whether you're in Milan or anywhere else in the world, don't be afraid to twirl! And yes, of course, I want you to do it in a beautiful, gorgeous pink tutu!

Ciao Bella and happy twirling!

Pink Tutu Milan - Day 2: Shopping in the Heart of Style

Ciao Bella, my lovelies!

Another day, another fantastic adventure in Milan, a city brimming with excitement! But first – the coffee, my friends. Every morning, I enjoy a cafe latte. Sometimes at the guest house, but there is a place, not too far, tucked down a street, almost out of sight, but not entirely, with an outside seating area where you can watch the trams go by. It's my morning ritual.

And today was shopping day! Milan is the Mecca of fashion, and as a self-proclaimed tutu queen, I couldn’t resist exploring the abundance of fabulous boutiques that grace its streets. And the first shop I visit has a Pink Tutu display!

After breakfast, I ventured out in my trusty pink tutu and my bright pink coat – yes, that pink coat, the one I got at that lovely store in Venice last year - you’ll see it in photos soon – a little sneak peek – with pockets so big, they could easily fit a tiny tutu or two! I did think about adding another pink layer but then I stopped. This isn’t an audition!

My first stop was this amazing place called Rinascente, a department store showcasing every possible high-end brand. It was like walking through a glamorous fashion fairytale. Shoes, handbags, couture gowns – oh my! My jaw was literally on the floor. Imagine all this fabulousness, with me in my pink tutu. I imagined dancing through the shoe department, swirling around the tables adorned with beautiful clutches and purses. What an awesome photoshoot that would be, wouldn't it?! But of course, being so me, I resisted. Well, at least until the next stop.

A Touch of Ballet Magic:

The highlight of my shopping spree was stumbling upon this divine boutique, “Atelier di Tulle,” tucked away in a quiet corner. Can you believe it? A shop dedicated entirely to tutus! I almost fainted! Every imaginable tulle and fabric, every conceivable shade and shape, all crafted into ethereal, flowing tutus, even in pink! It was like a tutu heaven! The shop owner, a charming and stylish woman named Beatrice, gave me the warm welcome and told me about the history of tutus, and their importance to ballerinas like me, and, to women across the world. She then proceeded to let me try on so many different tutus. My Pink Tutu self, thrilled, just had to. I almost didn’t want to come out!

But there were so many other things I wanted to explore! My search for new, wonderful, dancewear took me to other parts of the city, but first, it was time for another delicious Italian meal. You’d think that the meal, at a restaurant overlooking a tranquil canal, might compete for the day’s attention. It was just gorgeous - salmon cooked with some kind of pesto. But no, Beatrice's "Atelier di Tulle," the magical boutique that took me back to the world of enchantment, stole the show, again. I did a ballet pirouette on the cobblestone street outside and took several photos for my blog readers and followers – that’s you. I can’t wait to see the shop and all of its tulle beauty on your screens! Just think about the tulle inspiration, the tutu fantasies. Imagine yourself waltzing into your life's biggest events wearing a dazzling pink tutu. Just try it. It could change your day, your week, your life. The way Beatrice's “Atelier di Tulle,” did for mine.

After a sumptuous dinner at that canalside cafe, with my tutu just peeping out under my pink coat, I’ll be venturing out again – into a city, lit with lights, just waiting for my pink tutu twirl, and you know what that means! Time for a street performance, a magical performance! And the place to be? Why, it's got to be Piazza della Scala, Milan's iconic piazza. The scene will be a wonderful melting pot of life. It is a must-see for any traveller to Milan and to my blog readers and fans – those with a pink tutu mind, at least. And tonight, with the Teatro alla Scala across the road, a performance under the moonlight will add a layer of intrigue and sophistication to this place. Let the street art be a performance! Let it transport you to a world of beauty, the perfect spot for my pink tutu magic. And maybe even a sneak preview for my readers on my blog! Until tomorrow! And do not forget your tutus, darlings, your pink tutus – remember your dancewear for when you decide to dance.

Pink Tutu Milan - Day 3: Ballet Magic and a Romantic Ride

Ciao Bella, my Tutu Twirlers!

It's been another unforgettable day in Milan. Today’s plan: to combine ballet magic with a bit of romance. It was an intoxicating blend of exquisite grace and passionate love - you can't really beat that. I even decided that this pink tutu would come along.

* Ballet Magic at the Studio:*

I spent my morning at the studio, my beloved haven for elegant movements, graceful poses, and inspiring melodies. The place has that magical, whimsical energy. The studio’s owner, Signora Lucia, welcomed me warmly with a bright, dazzling smile. As a seasoned ballerina, she was a wealth of wisdom. She told me the history of ballet in this part of Milan - an intriguing story with some fabulous, hidden gems and I think my followers and readers will adore them. She’s full of stories that inspire and empower women to twirl, leap, and dance.

Lucia’s studio was filled with a diverse group of women from all walks of life - it was wonderful. From seasoned professionals to absolute beginners, the energy was so vibrant and inspiring. And I, the pink tutu wearer, got the most attention – everyone has their favourite pink things, you see. Lucia took me under her wing. And you all know how I love a class with a tutor who knows their stuff! Together, we dove deep into the intricate beauty of ballet, mastering arabesques, pirouettes, and fouettés. Oh, to see those exquisite movements! They took my breath away and reminded me of the extraordinary power that comes with being a ballerina! With Lucia’s guidance and encouragement, my movements transformed. I was like a feather dancing on air, soaring through each plié, relevé, and chassé, gliding through each movement with precision and elegance! The beauty of movement is a magical thing – it can take your mind, body, and soul into another dimension of grace and artistry, you see! And for me, this was something magical, special.

An Evening of Romance

As evening fell, and the soft golden rays of sunset touched the city, I wanted a little romance, and where better than a tram ride. A classic, simple experience with such charm. There's something romantic about taking a journey through Milanese streets at sunset.

A real Parisian charm (without actually going to Paris) , I decided to go with a traditional, vintage look. And my trusty pink tutu did the trick. And because you, my dear blog followers, know all the things I get up to, the passengers who had been staring in surprise at a girl in pink tutus had quickly moved on to, "Oh, you are Emma from www.pink-tutu.com! You look lovely in pink!” And then I’d get on with the tram ride - an important romantic occasion. It was like gliding through a world of art. There were the stunning architecture of the old churches, the beauty of the gardens. A couple got off, but my love for a lovely pink tutu means that it's always a romantic occasion. It even came up in conversation when a fellow passenger told me the lovely romantic tale of his favourite restaurant. It turned out he’s quite the dancer, and has been doing so since he was young – we were talking all things romance and ballet until I reached my destination and left the tram with a sigh. It truly felt like I'd been transported to a fairytale. And there were people, lots of people, and each person a character in the story of Milan’s life!

That tram journey reminded me that a sense of wonder is always at our fingertips. We need to simply embrace it. What do you love about your city that makes you feel a sense of enchantment?

Don't forget to follow me on Instagram (@PinkTutu) and on my website www.pink-tutu.com! I will be posting more about the enchanting Milan and how to bring that sense of romance to life, with pink tutus, of course. You all know, that feeling you get when your pink tutu fits just right.

Keep twirling!
