Oh darling, it's simply divine! A day for tutus, tiaras, and twirls - a day for ballet, of course! Today, the 16th of September, 1996, is positively overflowing with excitement for the art form we all adore.
Let's start with the darling Royal Ballet! They're putting on a simply spectacular performance of Giselle, a classic which never fails to move me. The first act, with the woodland nymphs and ethereal grace of Giselle, is always a highlight, but just wait for the second act – that incredible mad scene! It's a masterclass in acting, let alone the dazzling dancing, darling.
But, don't fret, for the glamour doesn't stop there. Right down the road at the English National Ballet, they are unveiling a brand new production of Swan Lake! Imagine it – all that gorgeous white tulle, the stunning music, the beautiful choreography! They've even incorporated some modern elements into this classic, just enough to give it that modern twist. Honestly, the whole thing sounds perfectly fabulous.
Now, we mustn't forget about the young hopefuls, the ballerinas-to-be, right? The Royal Ballet School, well known for its exceptionally chic tutus and top-notch training, is holding open auditions for new students today! The young dears will be showing off their *pas de bourrees* and *fouettés* to a panel of expert judges. I do hope that there will be some rising stars on show! I’d even dare say some will be sporting new tutus - I imagine some mothers have gone completely mad over a few extra frills and sparkles.
There is such a special buzz in the air when it comes to ballet this September, my dears! You could just feel it at last night's *Swan Lake* dress rehearsal. I was sitting front row, and just *swoon*! I’m utterly charmed. A sense of artistry, dedication, and of course, just a hint of delicious drama - a simply delightful combination. If you haven’t been, don’t delay darling! The world of ballet awaits!
