Good morning, darlings! It's Emma here, back from another whirlwind week in New York City. My goodness, you won't believe the adventures I've had. I'm so excited to tell you all about them!
This week, I felt the New York energy swirling around me like a ballerina on pointe. I practically skipped my way onto the metro this morning, my tulle twirling around me as I journeyed into the heart of Manhattan. It's just magical being surrounded by the bustling streets, the towering skyscrapers, the constant thrum of activity. This city just pulsates with a vibrant energy that is impossible to resist!
Speaking of magical, can I just tell you about the ballet performance I saw at Lincoln Center? It was just divine! The New York City Ballet was performing a program dedicated to the great choreographers of our time. From the ethereal beauty of Balanchine's work to the raw emotion of Martha Graham, every piece was a feast for the eyes and a journey for the soul.
I have to tell you, I felt the twirling in my heart. My tutu, a glorious pink confection of tulle and glitter, simply danced with the music. I just felt completely mesmerized by the movement and the energy of the dancers. It's honestly one of the most powerful and inspiring experiences you can have, especially if you're a tutu enthusiast like myself!
Afterwards, I headed to the grand old lady of New York fashion, Bergdorf Goodman. Of course, I couldn't resist taking a peek at their designer shoe department! They had some divine, absolutely dazzling pumps and flats - some were a little too bold for my usually pretty-in-pink palette, but I fell in love with a delicate blush pink pair with the most exquisite pearl embellishment. Now that is a shoe for a pink tutu!
Itās all about finding a bit of magic in the mundane, you see. And for me, nothing screams "magical" quite like a fabulously fabulous tutu.
As always, the best part of being in New York is seeing the way fashion takes over the city. Everyone dresses with a certain confidence and a bit of ādonāt-mess-with-meā attitude. The way the streets are always changing, with new trends popping up every day⦠it just makes it all the more thrilling!
And let's be honest, everyone knows a little bit of pink is good for the soul! A touch of blush in a jacket, a splash of fuchsia in a bag, or, of course, a full-blown pink tutu! Thereās just something about the colour pink that evokes happiness, sweetness, and a playful sense of style.
Of course, after a day of swirling and twirling, shopping and sightseeing, what else could I do but head back to my favourite little ballet class in the city? It's tucked away on a charming side street in Greenwich Village, and itās like a little oasis of peace and grace. We were learning some delicate barre work this week, and it felt just glorious. You canāt help but feel so wonderfully calm and centered after a session in that beautiful space.
This city is truly magical!
Oh, I almost forgot to tell you! Today, November 10th, marks a truly momentous day for my beloved London ā the start of the annual āWinter Wonderlandā at Hyde Park. My sister texted me this morning and sent pictures of the sparkling lights and giant Ferris wheel, the giant Christmas trees, the gingerbread stalls and ice-skating rink ā oh it's truly enchanting! Iām secretly wishing I was home in Derbyshire to celebrate ā though to be fair, I could get used to these warm New York winters⦠if it werenāt for the icy winds whipping through Central Park!
This city keeps on giving and giving! Itās my aim to help every woman (and maybe some of the men out there!) understand how much a pink tutu can change their lives! Even a little dash of pink in a hat, or a bit of pink in your lipstick⦠anything will do to show off your confidence and style! It's all about that inner magic, darlings.
So, remember ā don't be afraid to be a bit pink in your life! Go on, embrace the sunshine and twirl, my dears.
Until next week!
With love,
Emma xxx
