Darling readers, I'm positively bursting with excitement to bring you another Parisian escapade! This week's adventure sees me embracing the "Je ne sais quoi" of Paris, and I can't wait to share it all with you!
Before we get into the glitz and glamour, a quick hello to my newest followers who have joined the #PinkTutuFamily! Welcome! I hope you're ready for a whirlwind journey through the world of ballet, fashion, and Parisian delights.
As you know, I'm a huge fan of travel, and there's something utterly magical about stepping onto a Eurostar and arriving in Paris just a few hours later. It's the perfect blend of adventure and luxury. And the Eurostar is absolutely perfect for keeping your tutu in tip top shape too, much more than any other form of transport. My gorgeous pink tulle wasn't crushed or damaged at all.
Today was a dream come true: The Bolshoi Ballet was in town! The ballet performance at the Palais Garnier was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment I saw the first dancer take to the stage in their magnificent costumes to the last lingering note of the orchestra, I was utterly spellbound. The power, grace, and precision of the dancers was absolutely breathtaking.
Afterwards, of course, I had to pop over to the Galeries Lafayette. Shopping in Paris is a whole new level of fashion inspiration! The intricate window displays were a delight, and I was immediately smitten with their selection of tulle dresses. (Can you blame me? Every Parisian woman has a ballerina in her heart, or at least a closet full of tulle!). My pink tutu has finally found a worthy companion, I couldn't resist snapping up a stunning raspberry tulle midi dress, a true masterpiece in itself.
I do think I need to go back to my little Parisian flat (which has a gorgeous Eiffel Tower view, I might add!) and rest my dancing shoes for a while. This little shopping excursion really has taken it out of me.
But fear not! The weekend is just starting and I'm planning a fun day tomorrow, and Sunday I plan on going to an afternoon ballet class with some of the students from the ballet school I have been attending for the past few weeks, the classes are just amazing! The instructor has even helped me perfect the "pirouette." We'll be covering some fantastic techniques and of course, I'll be there with my pink tutu for inspiration, maybe I'll be able to inspire them all to get one for themselves!
Pink Tutu Inspiration of the week:
You know my rule: Never travel anywhere without your tutu. The train ride, a Parisian tea shop, the theatre, the Galeries Lafayette - they all embrace my tutu! If you see me in your neck of the woods, don't be shy, come and say hello! I’m always happy to chat with my fellow tutu enthusiasts, and to inspire more women (and men) to step into a world of whimsy and joy, one tutu at a time.
Stay tuned for the next installment of the #PinkTutuParis journey, where I’ll be sharing more of my favourite Parisian haunts and my quest to find the perfect bakery. Until next time, bon voyage, and remember, life's too short not to wear a tutu!
With love and sparkles,
Emma xo

But Wait! There’s more!
Here's a peek behind the curtain at Emma's world for the next 1000 words - an exclusive look at what goes on in her exciting Parisian life.
A Glimpse of Emma's Paris
Emma, in true "Pink Tutu" fashion, approaches her Parisian adventure with unabashed joy and an infectious energy. Her love for everything pink, for dance, and for experiencing the magic of Paris through a playful lens makes her an absolutely captivating blogger.
Her life in Paris revolves around:
Ballet Class: As we said earlier, Emma found an amazing ballet class - the École de Danse Parisienne. This is more than just a class for her. It's a vibrant community, a source of inspiration, and a chance to connect with others who share her love of movement and artistry. Each week, the studio becomes a mini-world where Emma hones her ballet skills, discovers new choreographies, and makes lasting friendships.
Performances & Shows: The highlight of this week is the Bolshoi, a rare chance to see this legendary company performing on French soil. She follows it up with exploring the other performances happening in Paris. She’s always looking for the newest ballet productions and also exploring new theatrical works that feature dance or music. From grand operas to quirky street performances, she has her eye on a vibrant calendar of events, turning her week into a delightful performance-driven odyssey.
Shopping Spree: Parisian shopping, in particular around the Grands Magasins is Emma’s therapy. It's where her "pinktutu" dreams come true, from finding the perfect blush-toned blazer to finding a boutique where she can commission a hand-sewn, multi-layered tulle masterpiece. The sheer joy she takes in uncovering the treasures hidden within the shops, haggling for bargains at the local flea markets, and exploring the unique boutiques in less-frequented districts, is infectious.
Culinary Delights: Eating in Paris is almost a ritual. For Emma, it’s not just about filling her tummy - it's about finding those hidden gems where Parisian charm meets delectable cuisine. Whether it's discovering the perfect patisserie for macarons or trying out an artisanal chocolate maker, every culinary experience becomes part of her blog's journey. The food in her blog posts is rarely just food; it’s infused with her passion and her sense of adventure, taking her readers on a culinary voyage through the streets of Paris.
Life Beyond the Tutu: To create a truly realistic view, Emma also shares moments from her life that go beyond ballet and tutus. We see her enjoying moments of relaxation, reading on a terrace at a charming Parisian cafe, perhaps journaling about her day, or having coffee with friends in the cozy quarters of her flat. These moments create a more well-rounded portrait of her Parisian experience. She also loves to visit the Musee d’Orsay, Musée Picasso Paris, Le Louvre, and other cultural locations of Paris to soak in art.
What to expect in the coming weeks:
Emma's Secret Garden: Her quest to discover the "perfect" bakery (and to write a blog post that showcases it as the ultimate destination for dessert lovers) has begun! Look for blog posts with beautiful photos, tempting descriptions, and insider tips.
Street Performance Extravaganza: She's set her sights on a "ballet-on-the-street" performance. She wants to blend the artistry of ballet with the urban landscape of Paris. Look forward to posts on exploring public spaces, finding local dancers and sharing what it takes to stage a public ballet.
Fashion Fables: We all love the look but there is more to a style and Emma wants to tell you all about it. We know she’s a bit of a shopping queen but her Parisian adventures are a gateway to finding your unique Parisian flair. Expect style tips, reviews, and maybe even a foray into Parisian fashion history as she explores how French fashion has impacted the world of dance and vice versa.
Behind the Pink Tutu Blog:
Financing Her Parisian Dream: She’s not a sugar-daddy funded Parisian - Emma is all about living within her means. Her Paris adventures are fueled by her dance career, often working as a performer in productions, smaller theatre shows, and sometimes in ballet schools. Emma embraces the "work hard, play hard" mentality, combining the hustle of earning her livelihood with the joy of embracing her artistic and creative spirit.
Her Derbyshire Roots: She keeps a connection to her Derbyshire origins, embracing both the down-to-earth Derbyshire traditions and using her platform to show that dance isn't confined to Parisian high society, but a passion that connects us all. Expect those Derbyshire details to crop up in her blog from time to time as Emma draws on her experiences.
- Giving Back: She uses her blog to support the arts, particularly within the dance community. She highlights young dancers, shares local projects and collaborates with non-profit organizations promoting dance education, and champions for ballet.
The Enduring Magic:
This is only a small taste of what Emma’s blog is all about. Beyond the tulle and pink is her love of exploration, sharing her experiences with the world. It's this heart and her “#PinkTutuLife” approach to the world that truly shines through. Her blog becomes a love letter to Paris and to dance, inspiring readers to embrace their passions, and step out into the world, a little bit bolder, a little bit brighter, and maybe even with a pink tutu.
Because at the end of the day, isn't life a stage where we all have a chance to dance our own unique steps, in our own unique style?
