Hello, my lovely Tutu Twirlers! It's Wednesday, and you know what that means? Yep, it's Pink Tutu Prague time! And this week, I'm positively giddy to share my adventures from the magical city of Prague, a city overflowing with romance, history and, dare I say it… a whole lotta pink tutu potential!
I arrived here yesterday, having taken a most charming journey via train and then, a glorious ride on a fluffy little pony (yes, really!). That's what you get when you travel with a ballerina – we find ways to make things fun and glamorous, even getting to a foreign country!
I’m staying in a boutique hotel in the heart of Prague, tucked away in a cobbled alleyway so enchanting it’s like stepping straight into a fairytale. Think soaring ceilings, a decadent chandelier and velvet curtains draping over floor-to-ceiling windows – it’s so wonderfully charming, and oh, so Insta-worthy!
But enough about my beautiful lodgings, let's talk ballet! After a whirlwind of travel, I treated myself to a delightful ballet class at the famed Prague Dance Academy, their studio was buzzing with excitement, the teachers incredibly supportive and the atmosphere was so full of passion, you could practically taste it! I've certainly missed those gorgeous grand allegro leaps and those lovely dégagés that seem to float effortlessly in the air – just divine! After all, as I’m sure you know, a pink tutu wearer needs to keep her pointe shoes perfectly polished!
Now, speaking of perfectly polished – my wardrobe is absolutely ready for a Prague makeover! The vintage stores are simply divine - brimming with lace, silk, and jewels – it’s pure vintage heaven! I picked up a a breathtaking vintage pink ball gown – picture shimmering tulle, delicate embroidery, and a skirt so full it could be mistaken for a marshmallow cloud. This is going straight into the Pink Tutu wardrobe and is already giving me ideas for my next photoshoot. I even snagged a little something for my adorable pony… a pink tutu for him, of course!
This evening, I'm off to the stunning Prague State Opera for a night of breathtaking ballet magic! I’m planning on a magnificent show, Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, a favourite of mine – this truly is the iconic story of love, beauty, and, of course, swans. How can you not be drawn to such elegant and emotive artistry? My tickets are front row center (thank you ballet performances! ), and I'm simply bursting with anticipation!
And in my world, ballet is never complete without the added element of fashion. Tonight’s look is all about embracing the magic of the city and bringing my inner ballerina to life. Picture a stunning emerald-green, silk gown (oh, the emerald tones are perfect for the Prague city lights!) and a whisper of gold jewelry to highlight those glittering architectural masterpieces that make Prague so uniquely beautiful. I will, of course, pair it with a statement piece – my bespoke pink tutu for a touch of Parisian glamour that screams 'I'm a ballerina and I'm in Prague, and I’m going to own this city' (with my own personal dose of pink, naturally!)
So, my Tutu Twirlers, that's it for this week’s post! Stay tuned for my upcoming Prague posts – there are so many amazing things planned – the beautiful Charles Bridge (a photo opportunity if ever there was one), exploring the Jewish Quarter (such a fascinating history to soak in), and, of course, more exquisite ballet performances and delicious, authentic Czech food – those dumplings with cinnamon sugar… mmmmm.
Oh, and if you see a pink tutu whirling around the historic cobblestone streets, say hello – it’s me! And hey, why not spread the pink tutu love and rock one yourself while you’re at it? We all know the world needs more pink!
Remember, it’s not just a pink tutu, it's an expression of joy, love, and dance! Stay tuned and I'll be back next Wednesday with more Prague shenanigans and ballet fun.
With love and pirouettes,
Emma (The Pink Tutu Ballerina)
xx
