Pink Tutu Rome: Ciao Bella! #1569

Hey my lovelies! It’s Emma here, back from the Eternal City with another week of fabulous travel tales and all things pink and tutu. This week we’re stepping out of the shadows and onto the cobblestones of Rome, the place where ancient meets modern, and the scent of espresso mingles with the echo of emperors. This week’s #PinkTutuRome blog is extra special because it’s finally happening, you guys, the Roman spectacle of the summer!

It’s July 2nd, 2025, and let me tell you, the sun is scorching hot but my pink tutu is radiating even more heat! (Maybe I need a little less pink, a bit more beige in this weather…) The energy in this city is electrifying, and everyone is ready to embrace the beautiful chaos of summer in the capital.

As always, I started my day with a delightful Italian breakfast. (Let’s face it, croissants are just a necessity here!) Fresh, flaky, and a tad buttery, they're the perfect start to a day of exploring. This time, however, I decided to forego my usual ballet barre warm-up routine and instead, enjoyed a spontaneous, energetic waltz across the cobblestone streets near the Pantheon. Let's just say, a ballet dancer in a pink tutu performing an impromptu ballet routine in front of a historic landmark makes for quite the spectacle. I think the locals enjoyed it!

After all that movement, the city calls for a dose of some serious retail therapy, darling! And I mean serious. As I walked into Via Condotti, the heart of Rome's high-end shopping district, I practically felt the glamorous air shimmer around me! Designer shops and boutiques lined the cobblestone streets, and each one had an enchanting story to tell. With my credit card in hand (a girl needs a good tutu budget!), I was in my element, finding a stunning coral silk scarf with gold embroidery (for a night out at the opera!), and a magnificent hat adorned with cherry blossoms. My outfit's practically crying out for a photoshoot, don't you think?

But the best part of my Rome trip has to be, of course, the world-renowned ballet performances! Tonight, my darlings, we're going to the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma to experience the ultimate masterpiece of ballet – "Giselle." Yes, you heard that right, this ballet company is one of the world's oldest and most prestigious, and it's a privilege to witness them perform such a captivating ballet. The costumes, the choreography, the music – it's an orchestra of beauty and passion!

Fun fact: Did you know Giselle, with her captivating story of love and betrayal, has a special connection to this city? The ballet first premiered here in the 1841 at the Teatro Argentina. It's truly magical to walk through the city that gave this masterpiece its debut and be on my way to see it at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. It’s moments like this, right here, in this ancient city where every street holds history and magic, that I am absolutely grateful for this amazing life and the ability to share it all with you.

But enough about me. This trip, my lovelies, has been about a new pink tutu inspiration. Now, we all know Rome is famous for its architectural wonders, the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, St. Peter's Basilica - all beautiful! But Rome is also an inspiration for style, colour, and grace. As I walked through the heart of the city, I noticed the subtle beauty in its everyday life - the delicate floral patterns on the ancient fountains, the way the sun kisses the cobbles, the graceful way people move through the bustling streets. It’s no wonder they say that Rome has its own language, its own rhythm.

So today, I’m embracing my own inner Roman. And I’m putting out a call for you, my darling readers. This week’s challenge is to let Rome inspire your style! Try incorporating some floral details into your outfits, adding a hint of colour with some statement earrings or a necklace. But, my main mission, of course, is to get you all wearing pink tutus! Why not be the epitome of Roman grace? Don’t be afraid to take your own, very personal, Roman stroll and make this week the ultimate #PinkTutuRome experience!

It’s been a glorious day, full of breathtaking views, dazzling shops, and the feeling of absolute inspiration. As the sun begins to set on the Tiber River and the golden light illuminates the cityscape, I know one thing for certain: Rome, you are forever in my heart, my love for you is eternal…just like your amazing history!

Stay tuned for more from #PinkTutuRome!

Much love, Emma xxx
