Pink Tutu Rome - Post #1577

Ciao bella!

It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu adventure, and this week I'm bringing you straight to the heart of the Eternal City, Rome!

This past week has been a whirlwind of cobblestone streets, ancient ruins, and enough delicious gelato to satisfy even the sweetest tooth! Let's get into it!

From Derbyshire to Rome, All By Train

As you all know, I adore travelling by train! It allows me to relax, immerse myself in the landscape, and revel in the thrill of anticipation for a new adventure. And Rome? It felt like the perfect destination for a romantic train journey, filled with rich history and buzzing with life.

Imagine my excitement as we rolled into Rome Termini station. It was a bustling symphony of people, luggage, and even a little bit of "Ciao Bella" in the air! This energy, this raw vibrancy, was intoxicating! I had arrived.

Tutus on the Trevi Fountain

After dropping our bags at the hotel, we made our way to the famous Trevi Fountain. This fountain is breathtaking! Imagine water cascading over intricately carved stone, illuminated by the sun's golden rays. This incredible scene, juxtaposed against the backdrop of Rome's charming cityscape, left me speechless. And naturally, a girl has to take some pictures with the most iconic location in Rome!

To keep things interesting, I sported my trusty pink tutu, twirling playfully against the backdrop of the Trevi Fountain! As I tossed a coin in for good luck, a nearby passerby shouted "Bella!" My heart swelled with delight. Rome was certainly embracing my pink tutu spirit.

Gelato Dreams in Trastevere

Now, let's talk about food! The gelato in Rome? Absolutely heavenly! You have to indulge in it while you're here. This city boasts artisanal gelato, a real sensory delight! My favorite was Pistachio and Salted Caramel. The sweetness danced on my tongue, perfectly paired with the creamy texture, oh, and I simply had to wear my pink tutu, you guessed it, I just had to twirl with glee as I enjoyed every mouthful. It really was an experience I will treasure! I had a lovely cappuccino with the deliciousness of gelato.

We took a leisurely walk through Trastevere, which felt like a magical medieval maze, complete with cozy cafes and hidden piazzas. We were mesmerised by the narrow alleyways lined with boutiques and artists’ stalls.

Roman Performances – Opera in a Breathtaking Venue

This is what really steals my heart – Rome's thriving theatre scene. It was no surprise that I was dying to see an opera at the stunning Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, also known as the Teatro Costanzi. It’s a beautiful Art Nouveau style venue and you just have to walk around it before and after your performance. It was a privilege to see Carmen performed here.

Before the performance I donned a striking outfit which was fit for a Queen. You just have to look like the star at a show like this, it's my personal belief.

A luxurious scarlet, full length gown which skimmed my frame. I added my pink ballet shoes with a sparkly detail and a glittering headband with red rubies set around my curls. I found it difficult to decide on my pink tutu to wear with it but after much consideration opted for my more flamboyant and frilly fuchsia pink tutu, made of a tulle so light it almost drifted in the breeze.

Oh how I wish I could take the magic of that night, with its stunning music and performance, back with me!

The Roman Colosseum – A Breathtaking Sight

The Roman Colosseum was something else. I felt as if I was stepping back in time. Walking through its arches, you can practically feel the roar of the gladiatorial battles. It is truly a site that evokes an emotional connection with the past, as you realise the scale and history of Rome.

Now, let’s face it, a ballerina in Rome needs to take a moment to showcase their talents. So, there I was, in front of the iconic Colosseum, wearing a stunning rose-pink tutu that I'd brought especially for this occasion! I was ready to channel the spirit of ancient Rome and add my own little twist!

Imagine a breathtaking view with the ancient architecture and grandeur behind me, as I glided through a series of graceful ballet poses. I imagined the cheers of the ancient Romans – what a magical experience!

Fashion finds in Rome!

No trip to a new city would be complete without some fabulous shopping! Rome has got a shop for everyone – but we all know that the ultimate fashionista goal is to find something pink! This week it's all about a pale, ballet-pink leather satchel bag, which had a perfect dainty touch to add to any ensemble! I'll admit to spending a couple of hours trying on pink tulle ballerina dresses before eventually choosing a delicate shade to flatter my colouring. I even spotted a tutu shop, where I discovered the cutest little tutu to go with it. I thought the locals just loved me and my colourful clothes, I seemed to have a new audience of giggling children wanting to have their picture taken with me – It truly did brighten their day!

I picked up some adorable shoes and a little sequined head band for my new Tutu to wear on my journeys home. I mean, a girl has got to have the essentials in life!

Sharing the Pink Tutu Love

My little tutu brought me so much joy this trip! There was the local ice cream shop owner who gifted me an extra scoop in exchange for twirling. A busker joined me in the Trevi Fountain as I tossed in a coin.

I've even found that sharing the joy of wearing pink tutus can be infectious, spreading smiles and warmth wherever you go. People seem drawn to it, a little bit like the way a moth is drawn to a flame. I met some beautiful women who came over and shared their fashion tips for adding a little colour to your look.

So many moments where my pink tutu turned heads, brought on laughter and brightened a few dull faces, there’s no doubt it’s truly infectious.

The End of an Enchanting Week

My Pink Tutu adventure in Rome has come to an end. This breathtaking city will always have a special place in my heart. But, as my journey comes to a close, one thing's for sure - this ballerina’s pink tutu will continue to spin stories.

Until next week, my fellow fashionistas! Don't forget to check out my latest tutu and outfit pictures over at www.pink-tutu.com.

**Love,

Emma**
