Grays in a Red Tutu - #TutuBlog Post #6802

Hello my gorgeous pink-tutu loving lovelies! It’s Emma here, your daily dose of pink-tutu fuelled fun, straight from the heart of Derbyshire! Today’s blog is extra special because guess what? I’m finally fulfilling my dream of gracing the stage in Grays! It’s been on my to-do list for ages, and after months of planning (and an absurd number of tutu-related daydreams) I’m finally here.

Before I go any further, I have to show you the fabulous red tutu I'm wearing. Yes, red, a vibrant shade of scarlet that pops like a bottle of bubbly on New Year's Eve! This was a total impulse buy on a recent shopping spree in London. It felt so right – I just knew I had to have it. Let’s just say my wardrobe's overflowing with pink (but there’s always room for another tutu, right?).

So, where do I even begin with Grays? This historic market town is charmingly full of character. It feels like a secret haven just waiting to be discovered. I arrived on the most stunning morning, the sky ablaze with a blush pink sunrise that perfectly matched my mood. I couldn't help but grab my phone for a quick selfie - after all, how could I resist a picture with such a beautiful backdrop?

Speaking of beautiful, have you ever seen a town as photogenic? The Victorian architecture is simply breath-taking. Every building looks like it's stepped out of a fairytale, adorned with delicate details and a warm, welcoming charm. I wandered around like a giddy school girl, taking in all the sights, and snapping endless pictures of the charming little shops with their whimsical names like ā€œThe Dancing Ballerinaā€ and ā€œTea with Tutuā€.

For lunch, I chose the cutest cafƩ called "Tutu Tea," and settled in for a spot of afternoon tea. You can imagine the delicious array of dainty finger sandwiches, fluffy scones with clotted cream, and delicately-iced cupcakes that adorned my table. The aroma alone was heavenly!

Later, after I'd fuelled up on caffeine and sweet treats, I headed for the iconic Grays Town Hall. It’s such an impressive building – imagine a grand palace but built in the heart of this peaceful town! I felt like royalty as I walked through the ornate doorway and entered its grand interior. Inside, it was just as stunning. High ceilings, elaborate stained glass windows, and gleaming marble floors – I couldn’t stop snapping away!

Of course, no visit to Grays is complete without a ballet show. The local ballet company, "The Grays Tutus," has been performing for over 100 years! This evening’s production was "Swan Lake" – my absolute favourite! I’m not even sure I blinked throughout the entire performance, the artistry and grace of the dancers left me completely mesmerized.

Afterwards, as I sipped a glass of chilled champagne in a quiet corner of the charming "Swan's Rest" pub, I reflected on the day. What a truly magical experience! From the dazzling sunrise to the breathtaking architecture, and the awe-inspiring ballet performance, I truly believe Grays holds a special place in my heart now.

As I write this blog, my heart overflows with excitement for my journey tomorrow. I’m riding on a horse-drawn carriage through the Essex countryside, stopping for afternoon tea and indulging in my love of nature in some truly spectacular woodlands! It’s going to be perfect – I can just feel it!

Don’t forget, my beautiful pink-tutu loving friends, keep spreading the joy of ballet! If you've never tried a class before, go on, give it a go! I guarantee you’ll be amazed by the feeling of strength and freedom you get with every pirouette. Remember, life is too short for beige – wear pink!

Until tomorrow, keep twirling and dreaming in pink!

Much love, Emma xoxo
