TutuBlog: London Calling! 🩰 (Post #8515)

Hello my darling tutu-twirlers!

It's Emma here, writing to you from the heart of London, where the air is buzzing with excitement and the pavements are bursting with colour. As a Derbyshire girl at heart, London feels wonderfully cosmopolitan and full of surprises. I’ve arrived just in time to catch a matinee performance of ā€œGiselleā€, so you can bet your ballet shoes I’m in a real pink-tutu-frenzy!

The London Eye – All Things Pink

Speaking of pink, I knew I had to visit the iconic London Eye for my first ever London outing. What better way to see this phenomenal city than in a rotating glass pod, with a panoramic view? Now, it might not be the first thing that comes to mind, but London has a very distinct, almost understated ā€œpink vibeā€.

Pink skies over the Thames, a pink flower bloom in Regent’s Park, the delicate pink of a building facade - it's like a secret language, one that Londoners use to add a touch of romance and magic to their daily life.

I’d also recommend taking a leisurely ride on a double-decker bus. It’s the most relaxing way to travel, taking in all the sights of London’s hidden corners. If you're lucky, you’ll spot a few street performers. I, of course, took a photo of the lovely gent dressed in a full-on pink suit performing a Michael BublĆ© song, just for you!

Ballet Bootcamp

I can’t stay in London and not indulge in a ballet class! Thankfully, there are amazing schools all over the city, from traditional dance studios to those with a focus on ballet fusion. Today I was enthralled in an absolutely divine ballet-street workshop, blending the beauty and precision of ballet with the gritty dynamism of hip-hop. What a fusion of movement and expression!

As soon as I walked into the studio, I saw an incredible group of women in pink tutus of all kinds. I immediately felt that sense of camaraderie that ballet gives – the understanding that we are all dancing for the love of it!

Royal Opera House, Here I Come!

Now, the true reason I came to London: the Royal Opera House! 🩰

Tonight, I’m getting dressed to the nines in a sparkly pink tutu and heading to Covent Garden to see ā€œGiselleā€, one of my favourite ballets.

There’s just something magical about being at the Royal Opera House. You walk through those majestic doors and you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. I absolutely adore seeing classic ballet. It's pure artistry, the kind that takes your breath away. It's all about storytelling and the power of movement – you can feel every emotion being conveyed through the dance. And let’s be real – the costumes are everything!

A Pink Tutu Dream

London is buzzing with creativity. So much to discover – I'm completely captivated by the atmosphere here. I love that even in this big city, I can still find little pockets of serenity and beauty. I think that’s something London does incredibly well, it balances the hustle and bustle of the city life with a quiet charm that comes from all the green spaces, and historical buildings.

And don’t get me started on the horses! It was absolutely fantastic to spend an afternoon riding a handsome grey stallion through Hyde Park! What better way to explore the heart of the city? The wind whipping through your hair, the feel of the leather under your hands – it was pure bliss!

Speaking of bliss, my dearest tutudresses – have you seen all the amazing pink flowers and rose bushes London has to offer? I could practically get lost in Kew Gardens, but hey, maybe I will one day!

London’s calling to me again… I’ll be sure to tell you all about it!

Love and pink tutus, Emma www.pink-tutu.com
