This is post number 8564 for me – that’s right, folks, 8564 days of non-stop pink tutu fabulousness! And this one, well, it’s got all the feels: whimsical travel, a sprinkle of theatre magic, and a touch of animal magic. Let me fill you in on the details…
A Train Journey Fit for a Princess 👑
My day started in the Peak District, my very own magical woodland paradise. With my trusty suitcase packed to the brim with my tutu of the day – a gorgeous candy floss pink with shimmering silver stars, naturally – I took the train to Basingstoke.
The journey itself was so much fun! The scenery from the window was breathtaking, with fields and forests swishing past in a kaleidoscope of autumn colours. I whipped out my latest “Tutu To-Do List”, a glorious bright pink notepad, to plan out my afternoon. I have to admit, I also secretly indulged in a slice of pink velvet cake from the trolley. After all, a tutu-clad lady has to eat well!
Basingstoke’s Ballet Dreams 🩰
As I stepped onto the bustling platform in Basingstoke, a wave of excitement washed over me. This city, while charmingly modest, always has a special place in my heart for its lively arts scene.
The highlight of my trip was undoubtedly the breathtaking performance of "Swan Lake" at The Haymarket Theatre. Oh, how those ballerinas moved with such grace and elegance! Their tutus swirled with each pirouette, telling a story of love, tragedy, and the power of art. It’s no surprise that ballet is my biggest passion, but watching such incredible talent onstage just confirms how transformative this art form can be.
After the performance, I decided to venture into the city centre. The festive lights twinkled cheerily and the shop windows displayed beautifully adorned Christmas trees – so glamorous! The town really embraced the holiday spirit.
A Moment with Nature’s Grace 🦢
One of my absolute favourite things about travelling is experiencing the unique charm of every location. In Basingstoke, this meant a special visit to the Basingstoke Canal. I discovered a secret, hidden spot where a pair of graceful swans were serenely gliding through the water. There's nothing quite as magical as seeing such magnificent creatures in their natural habitat! They are, of course, the inspiration for my next tutu design – just wait till you see it!

I believe that everyone can wear a tutu, even if it's just in the privacy of your own home. Embrace your inner princess and dance like nobody's watching! And if you haven't discovered the joy of ballet, trust me – there's a magical world waiting for you.
For me, Basingstoke has once again proven to be a hidden gem with a warm heart. I am already planning my next trip back to this beautiful town. Maybe next time, I'll try a spot of ice-skating with a sparkling tutu, or maybe even try some traditional Hampshire fayre!
