Hello darlings! It's Emma here, and guess what? I'm back with a brand new post from the wonderful, whimsical world of pink tutus! This week, I've been living it up in the charming town of Ashington, and let me tell you, it's been a true tutu-tastic time!
A Train Ride and a Tutusphere
My journey to Ashington started with a glorious train ride. Nothing beats the rhythmic sway of the carriage, the beautiful scenery zipping past the windows, and the thrill of feeling the wind in your hair! Of course, I couldn't resist rocking my favourite pink tutu, which definitely got a few admiring glances from my fellow travellers. It's a little bit of magic on the move!
When I finally reached Ashington, I knew I needed to capture the spirit of the place with a perfect pink tutu picture. Now, this was no ordinary town; the architecture is quite beautiful. There were cobbled streets and cute little cafes, all perfectly framed by blooming gardens overflowing with the most glorious flowers! I found the ideal backdrop: a sweet little pink-painted cottage with a picket fence and a cascading rosebush.
For my photo shoot, I had the best photographer, the wonderful Pip, a fluffy, white poodle, who was happily snoozing in the sunshine. I just love it when I can get animals in my shots - adds a dash of whimsy to the whole vibe! My #PinkTutuLife motto is, 'never take yourself too seriously!'
Ballet Under the Stars
The highlight of my trip to Ashington, without a doubt, was attending an outdoor performance of the "Swan Lake" ballet, under a canvas of glittering stars. Now, I've seen "Swan Lake" dozens of times in beautiful theaters, but this was truly unique! The venue was an enchanting park with a majestic backdrop of ancient trees. The twinkling lights from the nearby town added a magical ambiance to the atmosphere, making it feel like a dream come true!
The dancers were absolutely brilliant, their movements elegant and powerful, telling the story through a beautiful ballet vocabulary. I was particularly captivated by the female lead, who conveyed such grace and emotion with every gesture. As I watched, I felt a renewed passion for my own dancing, which really pushed me to continue practising. There is nothing quite as inspiring as seeing exceptional ballet, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to share it with you, my lovely readers!
Tutu Up Ashington
Speaking of dance, I couldn't leave Ashington without finding the best spot to practise some ballet moves myself! After all, what's a ballet dancer’s adventure without some personal reflection and practice? I had a chance to meet with a fantastic group of ballet dancers from the Ashington Dance Academy, who gave me an energetic tour of their wonderful studio. It was clear these young ladies had a true love for dance. We practiced some graceful plies and graceful bourrees, and it felt like a little sisterhood coming together. They shared their dreams and inspirations with me, which was truly touching!
The Beauty of Simplicity
This time in Ashington truly reminded me of the importance of embracing the simple pleasures. The charm of this small town, its friendly locals, the open green spaces, and the captivating ballet under the stars – they all had a powerful, lasting effect on me.
I think I need to make this trip more of a regular pilgrimage – maybe every summer. I’m so inspired!
And just for the fun of it, I had to share a tip for getting a stunning photo shoot! For my little #PinkTutuLife photoshoot in the park, I found the most amazing vintage pink umbrella, a true classic. It gave the shot an enchanting touch!
*And to end on a sweet note: * A friend of mine bought me a scrumptious cake at a little shop in Ashington called “Cake Heaven.” Now, that was the most perfect, pink, dreamy cake you ever did see! And it tasted as amazing as it looked, naturally! So delicious. And for the icing on the cake (pardon the pun!), it had the most delightful miniature dancing figure atop the cream frosting! Talk about your edible art!
Oh! Almost forgot! I hope you’ve had a chance to look around www.pink-tutu.com – my little corner of the web. I’d love to hear your feedback, so be sure to leave a comment with your tutu-tastic adventures. I'm always up for inspiration and a bit of chat. Until next time, my darlings! Stay sparkly, stay positive and never, ever, forget the magic of a pink tutu!
All my love,
Emma xxx
