TutuBlog #10583: Nottingham in Pink

Hello darlings!

It's Emma here, back with another post from my adventures in the tutu-tastic world of ballet. Today, I'm writing to you from Nottingham, a charming little city that definitely has that special something, much like my own special someone (you know who you are, Mr. Tutu!).

A Train Ride Through Time

My journey to Nottingham was an absolute delight. It felt like a trip back to childhood, a real journey through time on a delightful old steam train. Yes, I admit I had a little squeal of joy as we chugged away from Derby, puffing out plumes of white smoke against the blue sky. Just me and my trusty travel companion, my pink tulle suitcase (because you know, pink and tulle are basically essential for a ballet girl). I even saw a cheeky squirrel dashing through the countryside – perhaps he'd snuck aboard to get a ride!

Nottingham, a City of Wonder

As we arrived at the station, the sun was shining brightly, making Nottingham seem like it was straight out of a fairy tale. Cobblestone streets, colourful houses, a friendly atmosphere - it felt so alive! But you know me, first things first – time for a coffee and a little catch up on all things tutu-tastic on my phone. A quick scan through Instagram revealed some exciting new pink tulle designs, which had my mind buzzing with inspiration for a new photoshoot. I'm definitely bringing my tutu-making skills to this gorgeous city, and you can be sure I'll be sharing all the pink delights with you!

Ballet by the River

Speaking of delights, did you know Nottingham has an incredible riverside ballet school? It's nestled near the quaint little Trent Bridge, with windows overlooking the sparkling river. I just had to pop in for a quick peek! The air inside buzzed with the joy of movement – graceful arms stretching high, little legs bouncing with youthful energy. It was just the inspiration I needed to book myself into a beginner’s ballet class. It's never too late to try something new, right? (Plus, who doesn't want to pirouette by the river with a beautiful pink tutu flowing?)

Exploring Hidden Gems

Of course, no trip to Nottingham is complete without exploring the famous castle, standing proudly on the top of a steep hill. The history there just vibrates through you! They say Nottingham Castle is the original home of Robin Hood, although the rumour mill has it that his famous bow was, in fact, made of pink tulle – just a rumour, though, don’t tell my archery coach! And if you’re into wildlife (me!), I just had to mention the beautiful Sherwood Forest. It's right on Nottingham's doorstep and home to so many magnificent creatures, like the adorable red squirrels. I spent hours exploring, imagining myself gliding through the forest on a beautiful white steed (it would be quite the statement!) - wouldn't that be a sight?

Food for the Tutu Soul

Now, if you’re anything like me, your love for ballet comes hand in hand with a deep affection for delicious food! The food in Nottingham didn't disappoint, and let's just say, it certainly fuel-led my creativity (and my tutu twirling). A local pub recommended some incredible roast chicken with all the trimmings – seriously, I was in heaven! Of course, I couldn't resist trying a delectable strawberry cheesecake, topped with pink sprinkles (you know my weakness!). The perfect way to finish a day filled with tutu-tastic adventures.

Time to Reflect

As I sip my pink lemonade (naturally!) at my little hotel window overlooking the vibrant city, I find myself reflecting on my journey. You know, Nottingham has a little bit of everything. A bit of history, a dash of magic, a whole lot of art, and oh, so much ballet inspiration! My travels have certainly inspired a new design for my signature tutu line. Think delicate tulle, shimmering with hints of pink and adorned with subtle embellishments – oh, I just can't wait to share it with you all!

Keep the Tutus Twirling

Nottingham has made me realise how beautiful our world is. It's a world filled with endless opportunities for ballet, creativity and pink tutus – all waiting to be explored! So, until my next tutu-tastic adventure, keep on twirling and remember, you can find pink tutus everywhere! Just let your inner ballerina bloom, and always wear a smile on your face, just like I do!

Love, Emma xoxo
