Tutu Travels: Leicester Lights Up in Pink! (Post #10587)

Hey darlings!

It's Emma here, and guess what? Your favourite pink tutu-loving ballerina is back with another blog post! Today, I'm whisking you away to the vibrant city of Leicester, a place that truly knows how to make a splash!

My journey began at sunrise, as usual. I woke up with the birds chirping their morning tunes and the sunbeams painting stripes on my bedroom wall. After a quick breakfast of oat milk porridge with pink berries (because pink is always a good idea!), I slipped on my new powder pink ballet leotard, paired with, of course, my trusty tutu (this one a delightfully ruffled design).

I opted for a trip by train, as there's something truly romantic about the whistle of the steam engine, the gentle rocking motion, and the panoramic countryside views. It was a journey filled with inspiration โ€“ watching fields roll by, the distant church bell tolls, and even a little fox peeking at me from the embankment (I think he was a fan of my tutu!).

Upon arriving in Leicester, I was immediately captivated by the energy of the city. From the colourful murals on the buildings to the buzzing markets brimming with fresh produce and unique treasures, it was like stepping into a storybook.

Now, let's talk ballet! I'd heard whisperings of a "Ballet Blitz" in Leicester, and I knew I had to experience it for myself. It turned out to be an absolute extravaganza! The entire city was abuzz with ballet-related events โ€“ from street performances to free ballet classes in the park to workshops and exhibitions.

I joined a beginner's class held in a beautiful outdoor setting, the sunshine bathing us in warmth. We were a delightful mix of ages and experience, united by our shared love for movement and grace. The instructor was a bubbly character named Emily who radiated positivity and joy, encouraging us all to find our inner ballerina, even if we hadn't danced since primary school (myself included!).

My day culminated in a breathtaking ballet show at the stunning Curve theatre. The performance, "Swan Lake Revisited," was an extraordinary take on the classic, infused with a contemporary edge. I felt the energy pulsating through the auditorium as the dancers took flight, their graceful movements mirroring the stories of the swans. It was a visual symphony of emotion, leaving me completely spellbound.

Afterward, I indulged in a truly fitting celebration โ€“ a slice of pink-frosted cake at a vintage tea room adorned with floral wallpaper and lace curtains. A truly fairytale ending to a magical day!

But wait, there's more!

It wouldn't be a proper Tutu Travels blog post without a "Tutu Talk," would it?

This week, I'm chatting about the power of colour. We all have our favourite hues, and for me, pink is the embodiment of joy, creativity, and feminine power. It's not just a colour โ€“ it's a feeling! So, I challenge you all, dear readers, to embrace your favourite shade this week, whatever it may be. Let it lift your spirits, brighten your day, and inspire your own unique sense of style.

And why not add a dash of pink to your own lives? Maybe it's a pink ribbon on your hair, a pink nail polish, a pink tote bag โ€“ whatever works for you!

Oh, and remember, a pink tutu is never a bad idea! ;)

I can't wait to share more Tutu Travels with you all soon! Don't forget to join me on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, and of course, keep up with all my latest adventures here on pink-tutu.com.

Until next time,

Emma xxx
