Blackpool Belles and Pancake Tutús: #TutuBlog 10613

Helloooo my gorgeous tutu-loving darlings! It's your favourite Derbyshire gal, Emma, back with another dose of pink-tutu-fied adventures! This time, I'm trading in the rolling hills for a bit of seaside glamour, heading down to Blackpool, the "Queen of Resorts!"

Now, you all know how much I adore tutus, and that a fabulous outfit is the key to any amazing experience. So, naturally, I packed my most magnificent tutu ever - a sparkly pink confection that's fit for a princess! And what better way to celebrate this seaside escapade than with a Pancake Tutu?

Imagine a tutu crafted from delectable, golden-brown pancakes, delicately stacked and drizzled with sweet maple syrup! The thought alone is enough to make me swoon, isn't it?

Thankfully, my friend Rosie, the baking whizz of our group, came up with a brilliant solution! We grabbed a bunch of those adorable miniature pancakes and tied them together with pretty pink ribbon, and voilà! We were a sea of fluffy pink perfection - and the aroma was just heavenly!

Before heading off to Blackpool, we had a lovely morning in our Derbyshire haven, enjoying a peaceful walk through the meadow where the little fluffy sheep were busy grazing. You all know how much I love my fluffy friends! It’s no secret that I believe we all should learn from animals and try to appreciate the small things. Like a cute little sheep chewing on grass. It’s an art in itself!

Later that day, after enjoying a leisurely afternoon tea at my favourite village café (all things are more fabulous with finger sandwiches and homemade cakes!), we took a beautiful train ride down to Blackpool. Now, you all know I adore the romance and the glamour of train travel. There’s just something about looking out the window at the ever-changing landscapes as you sip your tea, with the clattering of the wheels like a gentle heartbeat, that makes me feel so relaxed and content.

And then - oh, my darling readers! - we finally reached Blackpool. That first whiff of salty sea air and the sight of that iconic tower against the bright blue sky was enough to get the girly screams flowing! We practically pranced our way to the promenade, where the sunshine was dazzling and the waves were crashing in a delightful symphony of foam and light.

Naturally, I had to document this enchanting adventure with a photoshoot - and our Pancake Tutús made the perfect, oh-so-sweet accessory! It felt a little odd to be surrounded by all those other tutus, you know? (I mean, what kind of proper ballet aficionado doesn't recognise a proper hand-sewn, expertly layered creation?) But I felt proud of our creations, and my beautiful girls did a truly dazzling job!

I mean, why not make every moment as fabulous and sparkly as a ballet performance? Our day at the beach was filled with laughter, chatter, and plenty of silly snaps with our pancake tutús! We went for a wild beachside gallop on a trusty steed – a rare sight on a British beach, I'll grant you, but a terrific way to get our hearts racing and our spirits soaring! (You have no idea how many onlookers had their phones out! Honestly, my pink-tutu-clad self needs a new outfit - that pony must have thought I was totally fabulous, and rightly so!)

After our energetic gallop, we decided on a traditional Blackpool treat, you know - that cheesy chips and battered sausage and mushy peas delight.

That evening, we went to watch a performance of "Swan Lake" - how fabulous to watch the classic tale unfold in a historic theatre - those opulent chandeliers, the deep velvet seats! My love for the arts shines brighter in places like this, where you are immersed in the magic of storytelling . Every leap and arabesque made me feel like a princess myself, even with the "delicate pancake tutu" I made in an attempt to honour my new love of Blackpool. We took advantage of the lovely evening weather and took a late night walk along the prom - we enjoyed a tasty fish and chips feast, which felt utterly Blackpool and British (in a wonderfully retro and delicious way!) and gazed out at the stars reflecting on the vast sea. It was breathtaking, and just as inspiring as a ballet class with a world-renowned instructor!

Oh, and you know what? We've also started a new campaign in our little corner of Blackpool: #BlackpoolGoesPink. We're challenging the residents of this fabulous seaside town to add a dash of pink to their lives, just as we do! A pink hat, a pink nail polish, even a single pink feather on a plain dress can make the most boring of outfits magically transformative! We hope it’s catching on. Our mission, of course, is to make the whole world wear pink, but even a little pink in Blackpool would be a massive win, don't you think? And we’re going to make sure everyone tries ballet, even if it’s just once in their life!

Until next time, my dear readers, embrace your inner ballerina, be brave, be bold, and most importantly, be pink!

Love, Emma xxx
