Post #10615: Paris, Ooh La La!

Hello, my darlings! 🩰

It's Emma here, fresh from a whirlwind trip to the City of Lights – Paris! Can you even believe it? I mean, Paris? That iconic Eiffel Tower, the beautiful boulevards, the chic cafes, the divine pastries... Oh, and the ballet! Don't forget the ballet!

I landed in Paris just as the sun was beginning to set, casting a golden glow over the cityscape. From the moment I stepped off the train (I’m always a train girl – nothing beats that romantic journey through the countryside!) I knew I was in for a treat.

Now, let’s get down to business: the outfit. Naturally, I packed my trusty pink tutu – a vintage European style one that I found on my recent trip to Prague (I told you, I love train journeys!), which has all the intricate frills and delicate detailing. It's a little bit Parisian chic and a lot bit ballerinalicious, and it’s perfect for any occasion – even if it’s just to have a picnic by the Seine!

My initial itinerary? To make a beeline for a patisserie for a truly fabulous croissant (just imagining it makes my mouth water!) before hitting up the Garnier Opera House for the most magnificent performance I’ve ever seen. It was breathtakingly beautiful, with a passionate and talented cast, stunning costumes, and the most elegant sets. It was like being transported to another world – a world filled with grace, music, and, yes, a few tears as I was so overcome by the magic of the performance!

Of course, I couldn't leave Paris without indulging in a little shopping, and as always, my main focus was tutu-related. Let me tell you, they've got the best selection of pink tutus in the world over there, and you already know I’m not afraid to indulge in the odd treat, right? You'd think the delicate, layered fabrics were crafted by angels – every little detail, from the intricate hand-stitching to the delicate ribbons, speaks to true Parisian artistry! And let’s be real, it’s just such an elegant style – it’s got that perfect mix of old-world glamour and a contemporary edge that’s so Parisian.

On my last evening in the city of lights, I opted for a truly elegant outfit for an unforgettable final night out. The Parisian elegance inspired me to slip on my pink tutu again – this time paired with a pair of sleek black tights and my favourite little white shirt (with some chic Parisian street style touches) and my ballet shoes. It just seemed right! I finished off the look with my signature red lipstick, and felt like the chicest Parisian in the city, strutting my stuff as I wandered through the cobbled streets and, of course, past the Eiffel Tower, bathed in the twinkling glow of its lights. The city felt truly magical!

The next morning, after a leisurely breakfast of café au lait and a pain au chocolat, I was off to explore a little.

You all know how much I love the romance of horses, so this was a chance I just couldn't miss – a chance to ride in the beautiful Bois de Boulogne. This stunning green space in Paris, just a short horse-ride from the heart of the city, felt worlds away. I explored its beautiful pathways and tucked away secret spots. Riding in the Bois, with the wind in my hair and the sound of horses hooves clopping softly on the path, gave me a real feeling of peace and joy. And what could be better than riding on a horse in a romantic French landscape?

Afterward, I enjoyed a lunch of exquisite crêpes by the river. This place is an absolute must-visit! Not just for the food, but for the breathtaking views of the city too – it's picture perfect!

But even as I soaked in all the beauty of this vibrant, cosmopolitan city, my heart kept yearning for the magic of a ballet performance. So, naturally, I made time for one more show! And oh, it was truly the perfect end to my Parisian adventure. This ballet was the most incredible thing! The dancers were captivating, their movements fluid and powerful – it just makes you realize that talent and passion, even combined with breathtaking costumes and incredible sets, never loses its magic! I felt completely swept away.

On my way back home (on another romantic train ride!), my head was buzzing with new inspiration for my own dance creations. This city is just so inspirational!

And now I’m back in my own little corner of Derbyshire, feeling totally inspired, brimming with ideas for my blog, and already plotting my next dance adventure. Where should I go next, darlings? Tell me your recommendations below! And don’t forget, even if you’ve never worn a tutu before, give it a try! You never know, you might just discover your inner ballerina – and it’s never too late to find joy in dancing!

Remember, darlings: the world is your stage – and we're all wearing pink tutus!

Lots of love, Emma 🩰 💖
