Hello lovelies! Emma here, and as you know, a pink tutu and a good travel adventure are my two favourite things. And guess what? This weekend was the perfect blend of both!
I took the train from my little corner of Derbyshire straight to Cambridge, and trust me, my pink tutu definitely got some envious stares on that journey. After all, who says ballet wear isn't travel-worthy?! But Cambridge was calling, and it called to me loud and clear – it was time for some ballet-infused exploration and maybe a little wild encounter along the way!
First stop, The Cambridge Ballet Theatre! I absolutely adore seeing live ballet performances, especially in beautiful venues. They've just opened their summer season with The Sleeping Beauty, and let me tell you, I practically levitated in my seat with excitement! The costumes were phenomenal, the dancers were sublime, and the whole thing had me dreaming of swirling on stage with a troupe of my own. I even chatted to a lovely dancer afterwards, and you'll be thrilled to know she's totally into the idea of everyone rocking a pink tutu - she's on the Pink Tutu train! You know, it’s a train with endless carriages. There’s room for everyone to hop on and ride.
Later that evening, after my compulsory trip to a cute tea shop where I, of course, had a giant pink iced bun, I headed to the River Cam for a picturesque paddle boat ride. Can you imagine me in my pink tutu gliding serenely along the water, bathed in the golden light of sunset? Pure magic! And it just wouldn't have felt right without a little wildlife encounter. Luckily, my little pink tutu dream boat stopped right by a family of ducks, the cutest little quackers you ever did see! It just proves: a pink tutu fits seamlessly into every kind of adventure.
Speaking of adventures, I also stumbled upon this incredible street dance performance in the heart of Cambridge. It wasn’t your typical ballet, but it was filled with rhythm, passion, and pure energy. These talented dancers definitely have that je ne sais quoi that keeps pulling me back for more. Maybe they could add some pink tutus to their next performance? Just a thought!
Now, as a dedicated ballet enthusiast, I wouldn’t miss out on the chance to visit The Cambridge School of Ballet. It's a charming place full of hopeful dancers just beginning their journey into the world of ballet, and I could barely contain my excitement. I spent hours in their library, digging into ballet books, getting inspired by stories of iconic dancers and picking up some pro tips for perfecting my own technique. They had a lovely young student there with her mum, and they were absolutely captivated by my tutu – she even begged her mum for a pink one! You’d be surprised at how many budding ballerinas are already on board with the pink tutu movement. Every day, the tutu circle grows!
Pink tutu, travel adventures, and ballet – this is my recipe for the ultimate fun!
I honestly can't recommend Cambridge enough. The city just vibrates with history, culture, and – most importantly - an unbridled passion for dance.
Of course, no Cambridge trip would be complete without a little wander through its majestic colleges and an impromptu picnic in a lush, green meadow. And let me tell you, a pink tutu in a field of wildflowers? Simply divine!
Cambridge truly embraces every aspect of life, including the joy of simply being in the moment. It's a reminder to slow down, to appreciate the simple pleasures, and of course, to always let your inner pink tutu shine!

P.S. My next adventure takes me on a journey back in time – I’ll be exploring the magnificent castles of Northumbria. What kind of pink tutu do you think would suit a medieval setting? 😉
