Hello my darlings! Emma here, and guess what? I'm on a whirlwind trip to the beautiful city of Bath, and it's definitely got me feeling like a ballerina twirling on the cobbled streets. Honestly, there's something truly magical about Bath, a city steeped in history with architecture that could only be described as ... well ... magnificent!
So, let's start with the journey! Instead of taking a mundane plane ride (don't get me wrong, I adore a good plane ride!), I opted for something much more glamorous this time - a train journey from my home in Derbyshire. A little over three hours whizzing through the countryside and it's like I'm a little ballet princess transported into a fairytale. Plus, there's just something utterly delightful about tucking into a spot of tea and biscuits while gazing out the window at the changing landscapes. Don't worry, I'm always decked out in my tutu, but with a hint of travel flair, of course! My secret weapon? A fabulously pink train-case with my trusty travel tutu carefully nestled inside, just ready to be twirled upon arrival.
Now, my darling tutu-lovers, you've probably already guessed where I'm headed - The Royal Crescent. It's utterly breath-taking. Just imagine perfectly symmetrical houses with elegant façades, all in a sweeping crescent shape. It feels like I'm waltzing through a Regency dream! The houses themselves are captivating - a vision in buff-coloured stone. I simply had to take a photo with a gorgeous pink tutu (of course!) to capture the pure elegance. And the good news? A cheeky photoshoot in a tutu, with those glorious houses as my backdrop, is a complete game-changer! Let me tell you, those pictures are Instagram-worthy!
And who can resist a visit to the Roman Baths? Oh my goodness, it's an experience for the senses. Stepping inside the steaming pool of history, feeling the cool mist rising, and imagining Roman citizens splashing about thousands of years ago ... it’s enough to make me feel like I’ve taken a graceful leap back in time! They say a bath a day keeps the doctor away, and honestly, that Roman bathwater had some serious therapeutic vibes. I'm convinced it made my pirouettes even sharper!
Let's talk about ballet. Bath, darling, is positively dripping with it. We all know about the famous Bath Ballet School, so naturally, I had to make a pilgrimage. Just the scent of sweat, leather, and rosin is enough to transport me to my happy place. And to watch these talented students rehearse... the dedication, the grace, the pure artistry is something to be savored! Even with a tiny tutu and an air of mischievous charm (my signature look, you see!), I couldn't resist joining in for a quick class. Their barre work is simply divine. A little tutus and two-turns later, my muscles are burning, but my spirit is soaring!
But, darling, Bath isn't just about history and high culture, though it’s brilliant. You simply must indulge in some proper, good-old fashioned fun! And what's a better way to end a day than a spot of afternoon tea with scones, clotted cream, and the freshest jam imaginable? The sweetness of it all! Let’s not forget, I've been diligently tracking down pink treats. Strawberry macaroons at a sweet little café... pink gelato in the park... even pink gin! It's all about indulging in those delightful moments!
One of the unexpected treasures I discovered on my stroll through Bath was a delightful wildlife park just outside the city. What a wonderful escape! Honestly, who knew they had otters playing in Bath? I simply had to add a few pink ribbons to their little pen – they were clearly in dire need of a dash of pink in their lives. Seeing those furry faces light up as I waved my little tutu at them – well, it’s all about spreading joy, darling, and that’s exactly what I do best!
Let's get back to the reason we all love Bath, and the city itself. You cannot leave Bath without feeling utterly, utterly, happy! From the warm welcome of the locals to the sheer beauty of the architecture and those lush green parks, I'm leaving feeling a touch of magic, a sprinkle of elegance, and most importantly – the overwhelming urge to spin! I think I’ve officially caught the “Bath” bug!
If you ever have the chance, do make Bath a stop on your tutu-wearing adventures.
