Hello darlings! Emma here, reporting live from sunny Lowestoft! As you know, I'm always up for an adventure, and this weekend has been an absolute dream. It all started with a little train journey - the chug-chug of the carriages and the gentle sway of the carriage were just what I needed to settle into a weekend of pure girly bliss. I love train journeys, there's something so quintessentially British and romantic about them, especially with a good book, a steaming cuppa, and, of course, a dash of pink sparkle.
Speaking of pink sparkle, can we talk about this tutu? I found this beauty at a vintage shop in Derbyshire, the place where I grew up. It's all billowy and beautiful, a vibrant, electric pink that literally lights up the room. It's the perfect mix of vintage and modern, and it feels like a statement all its own. I paired it with my favourite coral pumps (those sparkly things always add a touch of magic, don't you think?) and a simple white tee. It's a classic Emma look, wouldn't you say?
But why Lowestoft, you ask? Well, it's not just any seaside town - it's the home of the stunning Marina Theatre. Yes, you heard that right! The weekend coincided with the annual "Dance Festival by the Sea", and you know how much I love a good ballet show. The lineup was fantastic - classical pieces, contemporary work, and even a little bit of ballet street! Oh, how I adore that sassy, urban style! The whole vibe was so energetic and captivating.
Imagine, the beautiful theatre, with the gentle sounds of the waves crashing in the background and the sun setting over the sea. It felt so romantic, so utterly dreamy. I actually caught a glimpse of a little pink and white striped beach hut too. So cute! The performances themselves were just fantastic, filled with raw emotion and powerful movements.
You know, one of the things I love most about ballet is its ability to transcend words and tell stories through the sheer power of movement. You get lost in the performance, feeling everything the dancer is feeling, and I just feel like there’s nothing like it.
Of course, after the performance, there was an amazing party. It's so wonderful to be surrounded by like-minded people who share your love for dance. Everyone was dancing, and there were a few impromptu ballet demonstrations. Oh, the joy of it all! I even got a few photos with fellow dancers and admirers - the good people of Lowestoft really know how to do a good old-fashioned photo-op.
Now, before I move onto my adventures exploring the beautiful coastal path and getting up close and personal with the adorable wildlife, let's talk about my mission! As you know, it’s not just about me rocking pink tutus, it’s about spreading the joy and the beauty of dance to everyone!
I want everyone to have a go at ballet. It's so much more than twirling and leaping. It’s about strength, flexibility, and graceful movement, and it’s a whole lot of fun too. So, don’t be afraid to step into a class or even try a ballet street routine – who knows what you might discover about yourself and about your body!
Remember those seaside shops? I just had to find the perfect pink tutu-inspired souvenirs to bring back home. Let’s just say I’m pretty sure my wardrobe is about to explode with more pink and glitter than ever before!
And oh, the beach! Lowestoft’s beaches are a sight to behold. There’s something truly breathtaking about seeing the endless blue expanse of the sea meeting the sand. I spent an hour or so just sitting on the shore, letting the wind rustle through my hair and the sound of the waves wash over me. Did you know, it’s said that the air here is one of the most refreshing in the UK? What a way to start a day! It was just a beautiful escape from everything. And of course, it was all topped off with a classic English seaside fish and chips. I know, I’m such a cliche, but it really was delicious! Plus, a delicious helping of ice cream. I had one scoop of pink strawberry, of course!
This weekend was full of wonderful experiences, laughter, new friendships and amazing inspiration. I hope you enjoyed my Lowestoft adventures, my darlings. And remember, there’s no better way to add a little sparkle to your life than by embracing a bit of pink and twirling in a tutu!

Lots of love,
