Hey Tutu Lovers!
It's your girl Emma, back with another pink-tastic adventure! Today's post is extra special – it's number 10727, can you believe it? That means over 10,000 posts on the journey to spread the joy of tutus and ballet!
I'm currently in Beckenham, Kent – a charming little town brimming with history and a definite touch of elegance. Now, if you're wondering how I got here...well, it's a bit of a fairytale.
Let's rewind. Last week, I was at a theatre show in Sheffield – absolutely fabulous, as always, but something was missing. I felt a pang for some fresh air, some rolling countryside and... maybe even a little adventure! I grabbed my phone and looked up train times. And wouldn't you know it, the train to Beckenham was departing in less than an hour! A quick hop and skip later, and I was off!
Now, you all know my love for all things pink, but I was in the mood for something a little... daring. So, guess what I donned for my train journey? That's right! A lime green tutu! Okay, so it had a pretty pink ribbon and a sprinkling of shimmer, but I was pushing my boundaries a little, and oh, it was such a laugh!
The train ride was just delightful. As I peeked out the window, the world was a blur of rolling green fields and the odd village peeking through, reminding me of my childhood spent exploring the hills of Derbyshire. The air was so crisp, and I felt an overwhelming sense of calm settle over me, leaving only a gentle sense of exhilaration.
And speaking of excitement… I couldn't let this adventure be without a touch of my beloved horses. I decided to explore the town on horseback! It was a true 'Tutu and Trotter' experience – me in my green tutu, the wind whipping through my hair, and my noble steed galloping through the park! (Actually, he was just walking briskly. I didn't fancy a horse-back ballet just yet).
I spent the rest of the day taking in Beckenham’s sights. I meandered through charming cobbled streets, stopping for afternoon tea at the prettiest tea room – all lace doilies and floral china. It felt like stepping back in time. And of course, there was shopping. Let's just say my bag is currently overflowing with vintage-inspired clothing and beautiful handmade jewelry – perfect for my future tutu-wearing escapades.
After a day filled with so much beauty and whimsy, I took a long walk in the nearby countryside. It was just me, my tutu, and the sunset casting long shadows over the field. That’s when I noticed… rabbits! The most adorable, fluffy bunnies hopped across the meadow, making my heart skip a beat! I couldn't help but smile – it was as if nature itself was acknowledging the magic of the day.
So, as I end this little adventure, a little wiser and certainly with a renewed sense of adventure, I have one burning question for you all…
What's the next stop on our Tutu-venture? Where do you think my green tutu should take me? London? Paris? Maybe even back to Derbyshire for a family visit?
Share your ideas in the comments below! And, as always, remember… never stop dreaming, always embrace your inner ballerina, and …wear a tutu!
Until next time,
Emma
