Hello lovelies!
It's Emma here, reporting live from the enchanting town of Hitchin, nestled in the heart of Hertfordshire. My pink tutu is twirling with excitement because this place is bursting with charm, and I just know it's going to be a magical day.
I arrived by train this morning, and it was the perfect start to a dreamy day out. It felt so much more adventurous than just jumping in the car! I can't get enough of train journeys - they offer such an amazing way to see the world go by, all while catching up on some much-needed "me time." This particular journey felt like stepping straight out of a fairytale; rolling fields of green, fluffy sheep grazing in the sunshine, and even a herd of majestic deer crossing the tracks β nature at its most stunning!
My destination, Hitchin, has that classic British charm that gets my heart singing. The cobbled streets, quaint tea shops tucked away in alleyways, and charming historic buildings are just what my soul needs to feel all warm and fuzzy. There's something about stepping back in time for a while, leaving the stresses of modern life behind, that simply nourishes my spirit.
Of course, no day in a town this gorgeous could be complete without a good old-fashioned tutu twirl! So, picture this: me, in my most fabulous pink tutu, twirling amidst the blooming rose bushes in a tranquil park. My tulle swished with the gentle breeze, the sun on my face, and birdsong serenading my happy heart.
It wouldn't be a true pink-tutu adventure without ballet, so naturally, I headed to Hitchin's Theatre on the Square, which had an absolute treat on its program - "Cinderella" by the Hertfordshire Ballet Company. I am living for fairytale ballets right now, so my inner child went completely bananas. The dancing was exquisite, so much passion and artistry poured into each step, and the costumes... let's just say my dream wardrobe is officially overflowing! I am genuinely inspired by their incredible skill and dedication to ballet - it reminded me why I fell in love with the art in the first place.
After the show, I found myself drawn to one of Hitchin's most iconic landmarks β the quaint, charming Old Town Hall. Imagine a Tudor masterpiece, boasting timbered beams and beautiful craftsmanship - it's seriously enchanting! And, get this, it's also a museum, chock full of intriguing historical exhibits about Hitchin's fascinating past. Who knew history could be so fun and exciting?
Speaking of excitement, I can't forget the heart-pounding experience of visiting Hitchin's unique wildlife centre - a paradise for nature enthusiasts. My favourite spot? The soaring raptor enclosure, with its awe-inspiring birds of prey gracefully soaring through the sky. Their incredible strength and majesty simply left me mesmerised.
For dinner, I decided to indulge in the most scrumptious local treat - a hearty pie and mash with mushy peas at one of Hitchin's delightful traditional pubs. Honestly, that dish takes me back to my childhood, and thereβs nothing more comforting than that, especially in a cosy, historic pub.
As I prepare to head back home, I am already planning my next adventure with my beloved pink tutu. If you are looking for a magical, heartwarming escape, put Hitchin on your travel list β trust me, it will make you feel like you're living a real-life fairytale!
Now, it's your turn! Tell me about your favourite British towns and cities that you think are worth a twirl. Let's bring our pink tutus together to celebrate the magic that awaits in every corner of our wonderful country!
Until next time,
Stay fabulous and donβt forget to dance!
Love,
Emma x
