Leicester: A Red Tutu Romp!

Post Number: 10845

Oh, hello darlings! It’s your favourite pink-tutu-wearing, ballet-obsessed, travel-loving Emma here, writing to you live from the charming city of Leicester! As you all know, my love for ballet extends far beyond the stage, reaching every corner of my life, and that includes my travel adventures. This week, I decided to trade in my usual pink tutu for a vibrant red one, adding a dash of daring to my trip.

My journey to Leicester was an absolute dream. A delightful carriage ride through the rolling hills of Derbyshire, stopping to admire the magnificent Cotswolds, brought me to the bustling railway station. Oh, how I adore the romance of train travel! It always feels so glamorous, don't you agree? The clack of the wheels on the tracks, the gentle swaying of the carriage, and the anticipation of reaching a new destination…it's a symphony of joy for this wanderlusting ballerina.

Now, let's talk Leicester! It was an absolute whirlwind of activity, with my trusty red tutu being the perfect companion. First on the agenda: the National Space Centre. We explored the vast cosmos, from our own Earth to distant galaxies. I must admit, I felt quite the adventurer amongst the rocket models and astronaut exhibits, feeling like I could reach for the stars myself. But enough about the sky, let's dive into the vibrant city itself.

Leicester is an eclectic mix of old and new. The grand buildings like Leicester Cathedral stood majestically against the modern shops and cafes in the city centre. I absolutely adored the quirky street art murals adorning the buildings, especially the one with a charming little fox. It's amazing how art can make even the most mundane areas come alive!

Now, let's be honest, no trip to a new city is complete without experiencing its culinary delights. Leicester certainly didn't disappoint. I indulged in a delicious lunch at The Old Operating Theatre - I don't know about you, but I find history mixed with food always a captivating combination! They have a beautiful café, and I can’t recommend their lemon meringue pie enough - absolutely heavenly! Later, I enjoyed a delightful evening of Indian food at Amardeep’s’, the aromas and the taste, oh so exquisite! I do love discovering new cultures through their food.

But of course, no ballet-loving Emma could go to Leicester without a dose of ballet, my dear readers. And that’s exactly what I did! The evening performance at the Curve theatre was absolutely breathtaking. A fusion of modern dance and classic ballet techniques, it left me mesmerized. The talented dancers' effortless movement and raw emotions painted vivid pictures in my mind, a true testament to the magic of ballet. I found myself swept away in the story, completely forgetting I was even watching a show, I was living in that world alongside those phenomenal dancers! And of course, afterwards, I had to visit the dance studio and get my ballet fix with a wonderful class taught by the very passionate instructors! The studio is truly magical!

Oh, my journey to Leicester was simply sensational! It had everything I love - exploration, captivating history, delicious food, and the best bit, an absolute love-fest with all things ballet!

And now, my lovelies, let's delve into the heart of what this blog is all about: my beloved pink tutus, and my quest to spread the magic of ballet. Don’t let those stereotypical visions of little girls and tutus deter you - ballet is a captivating art form that anyone can appreciate! The grace, the elegance, the power, the emotion… it all comes together to create something truly magical.

For all you fabulous dancers out there, let your heart lead you to a studio, to a stage, to any place where you can embrace the joy of movement. And for everyone else, take a moment, embrace the colour pink, and remember the world is your stage. Who knows? Perhaps wearing a tutu will inspire your inner ballerina to take a step in the right direction, no matter your size or shape! Life is meant to be danced! And trust me, with the right moves, you'll find you can conquer anything.

Until next time, keep dancing! And remember, you can always catch me at www.pink-tutu.com, where I post a new entry every single day! I always love hearing from you - so, let me know where your red tutu adventure will take you!

Stay fabulous,

Emma xx
