Post #10903
Hey darlings! It’s Emma here, your resident tutu-wearing, ballet-loving, pink-obsessed adventurer, and guess what? Today’s escapade takes me to the chic streets of Fulham in London! I’m not sure if I mentioned, but I have a newfound obsession with emerald green – yes, that’s green, not turquoise, dear – and I couldn’t resist pairing it with my trusty ballet shoes for a day out in the capital. Let’s get into the details, shall we?
A Green Tutu Debut
Firstly, a little about this outfit, shall we? My go-to choice for any city exploration is always a tutu! But this time, I went bold with a vibrant green. Now, you may be thinking, green? In London? Hear me out! It was surprisingly versatile, a perfect clash of colours against the quintessential grey tones of the London skyline. You see, I believe in colour! Why settle for plain, boring outfits when you can wear something that screams 'I’m Emma, and I’m ready to twirl!'
The tutu was absolutely divine, darling! This one is a lovely cotton mesh, flowing just above my knee, with a generous layer of tulle beneath. A subtle glitter finish, and it just whispers “Emma, you look fabulous,” which, in my humble opinion, it most definitely does. It’s not your typical tutus; it’s daring and vibrant and the colour was absolutely mesmerising. I even got a few stares and compliments as I gracefully skipped down the Fulham Road, the green really catching the eye.
A Spot of Theatre
The highlight of my Fulham journey was the beautiful Olympia Theatre. I love going to see ballet, but when you get to experience it in an iconic London venue, you really feel like you’re stepping into the heart of the city. The programme featured a lovely mix of classic and contemporary pieces. Now, I’m all for modern dance and avant-garde performance, but nothing beats a classical pas de deux performed perfectly with passion.
My absolute favourite part? The stunning costuming! Oh my darling, you should see the costumes! I was completely entranced! A whole orchestra of stunning colours and shimmering fabrics that truly captured the spirit of the story. And guess what, my darlings? My green tutu looked so perfect with all the beautiful ballet costumes in the auditorium – it felt like I was a part of the performance.
The Unexpected Adventures
Of course, a London escapade is never complete without a spot of exploration! After my ballet show, I decided to head down to the Thames. It was lovely strolling along the banks, the sun beaming down as the city shimmered around me. I couldn’t resist a little pirouette or two right by the water's edge. Now, don’t tell my parents, but I almost ended up taking a dip in the Thames, I got so carried away with twirling. But wouldn't that be a perfect anecdote? “Emma, you know that ballet obsessed, pink tutu loving girl from Derbyshire? Oh yes, she once almost took a swim in the Thames wearing her emerald green tutu.”
* A Glimpse of Wildlife*
After all that fun and dancing, it was time to give myself a little break, a spot of afternoon tea! Now, I’m sure you'll think I'm mad, but I was so charmed by a little park nearby with a large swan family. Imagine this: me, perched on a park bench, a delicate floral cup in my hand, gazing at this delightful swan family on a still lake! It was quite a moment! Just a little touch of countryside in the middle of the big city. The sun dappled through the trees, and I swear, I even spotted a pair of swans performing their very own version of a pas de deux on the lake! It was absolutely charming, perfectly whimsical, a fitting end to a perfect afternoon in Fulham.
A Farewell Twirl
This day in Fulham was simply magical! Not only did I get to immerse myself in a ballet show but I also got to enjoy a vibrant London afternoon, all whilst channeling my inner green tutu fairy. If you're a ballerina with a love for adventure, Fulham is definitely a must-visit! There's something here for everyone – even a little swan family for those who appreciate the simple beauties of life.
Now, my darlings, I have a challenge for you! Pick a vibrant colour, anything! Put on your best tutu, maybe your own or a pre-loved one you can find, and explore your city or town. I’d love to hear about your adventures! Don’t forget to tag me on Instagram with #pinktututravels!
That’s all for now. Stay twirly!
Emma xoxo
