Littlehampton, Sweet Littlehampton! (Blog Post #10954) 🩰🌸

Oh, hello there, lovely readers! Emma here, your favourite tutu-loving, ballet-obsessed, pink-tastic adventurer. Today, I'm whisking you away to the charming seaside town of Littlehampton in West Sussex, a destination that captured my heart as quickly as a pirouette.

You might remember that I’m absolutely wild for seaside towns, and Littlehampton has definitely climbed to the top of my list! This sweet little gem was a refreshing change of scenery from my Derbyshire roots. With its delightful Victorian architecture and charming cobbled streets, I felt like I'd stepped right into a Jane Austen novel, all except for my bright green tutu! (more on that later)

This trip started, as you know, with my usual morning ballet class. A gruelling, but wonderfully invigorating, routine that had me soaring through the air like a graceful swan, before my legs turned into jelly! Afterwards, I packed up my essentials: a couple of colourful tutus, my trusty notebook (for documenting the pink and twirly goodness, naturally), and a good book - in this case, "The Complete Ballet" by the incomparable Peter Wright (an absolute must-read for any tutu enthusiast!).

Now, usually, I'd travel by train to coastal towns, relishing the rhythmic rumble and the chance to people-watch, but this time I decided to go horseback. Can you believe it? A dashing white stallion took me straight to the shores of Littlehampton! It was pure magic, every movement was like dancing with the wind. If you’re ever near Brighton, be sure to check out "The Gallop" - it's a delightful equestrian adventure for anyone looking to explore the Sussex coast in style.

Littlehampton greeted me with a gentle breeze and the invigorating smell of the sea. The promenade was bustling with tourists and locals alike, and I couldn't help but soak in the atmosphere. It's the kind of place where you can feel your worries melting away with every breath of salty air. I meandered along the beach, the soft sand cushioning every step, watching seagulls dive and playful children build sandcastles. And what was the colour of the beach, you ask? Pink! Not literally, of course, but the pastel-pink sunrise over the water gave the sand a delicate blush. Perfect!

Then it was time to embrace the reason for my journey – the heart and soul of Littlehampton. My oh my! There was a magical, pink-themed ballet show taking place right there on the beach! They even invited me up to dance with them! I couldn't resist, and twirling beneath the setting sun in a luscious emerald green tutu – oh, how my fellow dancers laughed, but I’m quite fond of the green, as you know!

The performance itself was a spectacular blend of ballet, storytelling, and sheer joy. Imagine ballerinas gracefully dancing across the sands, the gentle waves acting as their accompaniment, the golden hues of sunset bathing the scene in ethereal light. It was truly something special, an event that will stay etched in my memory for years to come.

Of course, no visit to a seaside town would be complete without a delightful cuppa and a slice of delicious Victoria sponge. I discovered a little cafe on the beach with a pink menu – just perfect! You’ll need a proper cup of tea when you’re having such a whirlwind day, but of course I just had to include some dainty little pink cakes for my afternoon snack. As I sat by the window, watching the waves crash and listening to the chatter around me, I felt a profound sense of peace and contentment. Littlehampton truly does have a special magic, don't you think?

But as my stay in Littlehampton came to a close, a new chapter began - one full of new ballet adventures! Next stop, the Southbank in London. Now, my darlings, do you know anything about the ballet theatre in the Southbank? It's a bit more theatrical, a bit more theatrical than a seafront performance. We'll find out!

Stay tuned, my sweethearts, as I share my Southbank exploits, complete with fabulous tutus and all things pink! Don't forget to check out www.pink-tutu.com for all the latest adventures. Until then, twirl and dance, spread the pink and the tutu love!

Love, Emma 💖🩰✨
