Today, I'm travelling back to a truly exciting time in dance, a time full of dazzling creativity and bold, innovative pieces... 11th December, 2001. Now, grab your fanciest pink feather boas, we're about to hop aboard the tutu express and embark on a delightful journey!
This week, our spotlight shines on a pivotal moment in the evolution of the tutu. I'm picturing the softest tulle, hand-stitched and adorned with beautiful embroidery. This era was about elegance, expressing intricate movements with captivating lightness.

Imagine walking into a grand theatre in 2001. A wave of excitement, anticipation... the air humming with the sound of a packed house, every eye fixated on the curtain that would soon unveil a masterpiece of dance. You'd catch glimpses of the dancers backstage, their tutus gleaming beneath the stage lights, their hair styled with perfect precision.
The music starts, the orchestra swells. As the curtain rises, the story unfolds, a delicate dance between drama and graceful fluidity. These ballerinas are the ultimate vision of timeless femininity, their tutus swirling and dancing in perfect synchronisation with every move, captivating everyone in the audience with their talent.
I can practically feel the energy of the dance! Every swirl and dip, every grand jeté, every arabesque, all expressed through the graceful lines of their beautiful tutus. I've been lucky enough to perform myself on these historic stages, the applause ringing in my ears as I take a bow in my signature pink tutu. What a dream!
