Hiya lovelies! 👋 It’s Emma here, your pink-tutu-loving, ballet-obsessed time traveller, back for another week of delving into the magical world of ballet history, specifically focusing on tutus, naturally! It's Tutu Tuesday and I’m positively thrilled to be whisking you off to a fabulous date - the 10th of March, 2026! What exciting adventures in tutudom await? Well, settle in and grab your pinkest tiaras because, darling, we’re going to Paris!
Bonjour, Paris! The City of Lights & Love - & tutus, of course! 💖Ooh la la! This trip has been months in the making! You know, when I first discovered this amazing ability to travel through time, I found it hard to keep my travel plans secret! Who wouldn't want to experience, let’s say, the original Swan Lake première back in the late 1800s, or perhaps a performance of Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker"? My little time travelling heart almost exploded with the possibilities! 🤯
But, as time-travel expert, or time traveller, or… well, travel-tastic Emma, I know all the rules! You don't just whizz back in time without planning for a reason, so that’s where my "Ballet Tutu History" series comes in! It's a way to document the past while living my ultimate dream life - all thanks to my beloved ballet. And, the funding? It’s all through the performances! Ahem, yes, I do manage to squeeze a bit of dancing in during my time-hopping! It wouldn't be fair to miss out on my first passion! 😉
Okay, back to Paris! I'm absolutely thrilled about this particular trip. Paris is the city of lights, the capital of fashion and oh-my-goodness - tutus look so chic against that Parisian backdrop. Think: sashaying along the Seine, tutus shimmering in the sunlight. Talk about iconic, darling! The whole vibe here screams, "romance, style and ballerinas”!
I’ve planned my week to be an absolute dream:
Le Grand Palais: This magnificent structure, built for the 1900 World Fair, is currently playing host to the “The Tutu: A Century of Dance and Fashion” exhibition! I absolutely cannot wait! All the classic tutus, from the early Romantic ballet to the most innovative designs – I’m literally dizzy with excitement!
A little haute couture shopping is on the agenda too! Oh la la! Imagine my delight at finding a gorgeous vintage-style pink tutu that sparkles like a million stars! This vintage boutique on Rue de Rennes has it all - feather boas, silk gloves, headbands… swoon… It's perfect for my new collection! I even found a cute pair of silver ballet flats, just for the occasion. 😉
Ballet Classes: Of course, no trip to Paris would be complete without some fabulous ballet lessons. I’m absolutely living for these incredibly chic studios in the Marais district. They're practically in my dreams - airy studios with large mirrors, beautiful natural light and of course, my favourite colour, *pink everywhere. Imagine – Parisian elegance combined with classic ballet technique… *swoon! And they definitely let me wear my pink tutu, just like I thought! I’m sure my classmates are wondering what’s going on – maybe it's just the "British eccentric" flair…
The Palais Garnier * - an absolutely essential stop on *any trip to Paris! The *opera house, with *that Grand Staircase, so much history! I can't wait to get all decked out in my newest pink tutu, just so everyone can enjoy it while I imagine the stories behind those famous balconies. And of course, I will be catching the evening performance! Nothing compares to the majesty of a full ballet production… the music, the costumes, that beautiful spectacle!
Oh darling, you know my philosophy: The right tutu can make any day extraordinary! You simply can’t beat the feeling of floating, swirling and dancing! It’s magical! They're just so versatile! Whether you’re strutting down the street or making your debut at the Paris Opera, they transform you. And of course, with every tutu comes the opportunity for some amazing photos, which I will be posting for you, my darling followers, to see! 💖
So here are a few reasons I adore my tutus (it would take ages to list everything!).
Timeless elegance: They’ve been around forever, evolving beautifully across time, with every period and designer adding something unique and beautiful to this ballet essential.
Effortless charm: Honestly, who doesn’t look gorgeous in a tutu? It’s the perfect outfit for a romantic evening with a friend or for a family day out (even my little brother can be convinced by the right outfit! 😉 ).
Dreams realised: For me, a tutu symbolises achieving a dream, being confident enough to embrace your individuality and have a little fun.
So, with a sparkling pink tutu firmly on, I'm heading to Paris for a Tutu-tastic adventure! And trust me darling, a pink tutu is the best way to add a little flair to the most magical city! 💖
I'll be sharing all my highlights on Pink-Tutu.com. See you all back here next week for more adventures in tutudom. 🩰💖
Love and sparkles, Emma 💕
